We had a poor experience at this hotel. We arrived very late at 1am and the hotel was completely dark and gate closed. We rang the buzzer and shouted for someone to let us in, but no one came. We had even put a note on our reservation to let them know we would be arriving very late, but no...

I was here a total of 3 nights; 2 upon arrival in BKK and another 1 before my flight out. Overall this is a good deal. It's in a great location for the historical sites and khao san road. I had an ensuite room both times, but yes, beware- others are shared toilet. The water is hot, and the AC...

I only booked one night here and my arrival seemed to take the staff by surprise. However we were able to get into the room one hour early. We were so tired after our overnight flight I failed to notice the lack of a toilet until the staff had gone. As it was only one night we decided we could...

We stayed one night at Baan Boran. The rooms have AC, the bed was clean, but other than that it was not outstanding. It was hard to communicate with the young girls that help out at the hotel (they don't speak English).

The room was enormous and clean. The private bathroom had shower/toilet and the shower had hot water from the pipes. Great water pressure and water as hot as you want it. We arrived around 1am and had to ring the bell repeatedly/have someone call before anyone came out. The girls there don't speak English so it's hard to communicate with...

The staff are very welcoming - we received free drinks and fruit on arrival. The rooms are large but a little run down. I've also never stayed somewhere where the shower is directly next to the TV! We got bitten quite a few times due to finding several bugs in the room. However breakfast is very tasty and the place...

This hotel is in a good position but slightly out of the bustle of the city. We walked everywhere to all of the sights (palace, temples etc) but it took a good hour. The rooms are very clean, sheets & towels changed daily. The staff are extremely friendly, every time we returned from a day of sightseeing they greeted us...

My boyfriend and I stayed three nights at Baan Booran and enjoyed the accommodations. The staff were very helpful and sweet. Our room was tidied daily (even folding our clothes and neatly zipping up our bags) and the free breakfast was enjoyable ( you have your pick of the Thai or western daily special. Definitely not a five star resort...

The simplistic review: Mediocreto- Good guesthouse not in the center of Old Town, nor the center of Khao San road, but off the map a little bit. It is a close 10 minute walk to Khao San, but you will need to take Taxi-meters or tuk tuks to get to the main sites such as Wat Pho, Wat Arun, etc......

Staying in Banglamphu

Neighbourhood Profile
Banglamphu
While you’ll see skyscrapers in most parts of Bangkok, it’s the gilded roofs of ancient pagodas that adorn the skyline of Banglamphu, the city’s historical and most touristic district. Hordes of tourists flock to this area to tick quite a few must-see attractions off their to-do list, with the Grand Palace being the most spectacular of them all. Banglamphu is also home to Bangkok’s infamous tourist ghetto, centered around Khao San Road. Visit at night to feast on road-side pad thai, cheap beers and if you’re up for it, some dancing fueled by buckets of Thai whiskey.
