This was a delightful little guesthouse to stay in. The decor was lovely, felt very authentic. The rooms were small but clean and had comfy beds and mosquito nets. Water was available in the fridge just outside our room which was very handy. The guest house is located near Dusit Park (which is nice to have a wander around) so...

I visited Baan Tepa with friends for 2 nights , a very old wooden house , situated in the Dusit area of Bangkok. It was the most genuine experience of the local thai culture. Theo is an awesome host, he is very friendly ,cooperative and a great tourist guide too. The courtyard is like a community centre-. where you can...

Stayed here this past weekend. Spent more time than we had planned in the house, as we were hemmed in by the protests. It is located right beside the government buildings. Aside from that the house itself is lovely, very traditional Thai. Our room was not much bigger than the bed, but was fine for what we wanted. The toilet...

A really nice old wooden house from the 1920s or 30s situated down a quiet soi in the Dusit area of the city. Very friendly and helpful guy runs the place. Was easy for the taxi driver from the airport to find. A central courtyard for eating and reading, no shoes indoors, spotless polished wooden floors, bedrooms are large and...

Baan Tepa is situated north of the Banglampoo area, very local and urban fringe feel to the neighborhood. Not a lot of tourism appeal, save for the Ananta Samakhom throne plaza north and east of the hotel. Rooms are charming, the one i stayed in had a really narrow bathroom outside but great atmosphere nontheless. The lush greenery around helps...

This is a lovely little place. Cosy and welcoming. Rooms are comfortable. Quiet area. Breakfast is a different Thai breakfast each day and is absolutely delicious! Very friendly staff. Some rooms have private bathrooms which are separate from the room which is not a problem as they are only across the hallway. Everything is very clean. The location is a...

Staying in Dusit

Neighbourhood Profile
Dusit
When wandering around the Dusit Palace grounds, you'd almost forget you're still in a Southeast-Asian city. The Renaissance-style buildings and leafy gardens wouldn't be out of place in an European capital, and the serenity here is in stark contrast with the chaotic city life outside of its complex walls. Dusit is one of Bangkok's oldest districts, and while the rest of Bangkok is modernising at a rapid pace, Dusit seems to have stood the test of time. Come here to find family businesses in traditional shophouses, small-scale local markets and streets unfazed by modern city life.
