We touched down at Khaosan Baan Thai as our first stop on our trip to South East Asia. The staff was incredibly friendly and welcoming. We arrived way before check in and they allowed us to shower and have some coffee/tea. The room is simple with beds on the floor, so don't expect too much comfort wise. It was simple...

We stayed here for 7 days last month. We tried to book again, but it was full, so try it ahead of time. It's a small place with a shared bathroom, which was generally clean. We had a room with a little porch with a view of the bridge. It was very quiet. Staff was really nice. Breakfast is exactly...

The stuff at the hostel is really nice and helps at any problems. You got Toast, egg and sausages for breakfast for free! You can buy any sort of drink and some Snacks and this for the same price as the super markets. The location is awesome, you can reach nearly all touristic atractions on foot. If you don't want...

We found khaosan baan thai to be peace in a crazy city. The hostel offered good facilities such as free wifi, use of computers and free breakfast. It was perfect for couples and you can tell the staff really cared and didn't want to rip you of like other hostels we have stayed in. However it is a mattress on...

Peaceful, quiet and very friendly. Only 5 minutes walk from Khaosan road. Great wifi, clean rooms and showers, airy rooms and fun toast. Great value and all we would need for a hostel. A quiet oasis. We will return here when we are back in Bangkok

I stayed for two weeks, whilst my room was small and by the washing machines - i have no complaints. Within easy reach of khaosan road, it is a quiet guesthouse. The staff are so helpful. And a personal thank you to all of them in teaching me a few more Thai words.

I stayed at Khaosan Baan Thai for two days. It was a good choice, because It is near (about 10 - 15 minutes walking to Khaosan Road (backpackers street). The rooms are very clean, and bathrooms too. The woman who was in reception was VERY helpful, and ready to solve any problem or question about Bangkok, transportation, shopping, etc. If...

We made our reservation before we left England, and on arrival staff were very friendly and spoke good English. They were expecting us and were very helpful. Our room was spacious and clean and had everything we needed, including air con. The showers are not in the rooms but always available and clean. About a 5 minute drive in a...

The staff here are wonderful, I fully recommend making use of them to help you with your trip. They can let you know where to go, where not to go and give you great advice on how not to get scammed. The rroms are clean, the bathrooms are clean, the location is close enough to khaosan that you can go...

Staying in Banglamphu

Neighbourhood Profile
While you’ll see skyscrapers in most parts of Bangkok, it’s the gilded roofs of ancient pagodas that adorn the skyline of Banglamphu, the city’s historical and most touristic district. Hordes of tourists flock to this area to tick quite a few must-see attractions off their to-do list, with the Grand Palace being the most spectacular of them all. Banglamphu is also home to Bangkok’s infamous tourist ghetto, centered around Khao San Road. Visit at night to feast on road-side pad thai, cheap beers and if you’re up for it, some dancing fueled by buckets of Thai whiskey.

“There are stairs here regardless of what room you are in. If you find stairs difficult, you may want to ask if you can arrange for a first floor room so that you only have to tackle one flight of steps.”
