Quiet and small rooms. Essential accomodations with competitive price. Customers are young and old travellers. Pretty clean, it depends on which kind of guests are living in. Nice place where meeting weird and interesting people. Connection depends on position of your room.

The room was clean. Bed was hard. No AC only a fan. Only two shared hot showers, but in the heat of Bangkok a cold shower might be to prefer. There are A LOT of small rules in the guesthouse you must follow, which is a bit wired. The staff is doesn't seem to interested in helping you with anything.

The guest house is perfectly located and the staff very friendly. Althought the street is calm, the isolation of the rooms is non existant, so you can hear your neighbours speaking, watching tv at 1pm, having a skype conversation at 3am, singing and playing guitar at 7 am.. well if you need some rest, not advisable, otherwise if you want... This accomodation has a really good value for money, situated in the center of the city near the Santichay Prakam Park and Chaopraya river on Samsen soi 1. I stayed on the first floor because single rooms are only there for 200 baht per night but unfortunately without windows and AC. Toilets and showers are common near there. Sometimes pretty... More

Strange the man that booked me in was a nice sort of fellow. I did not experience any nastiness. The room was B200 with use of a community line of showers and toilets. My only complaint about these was that there was no place to hang clothes in the showers. The bed was hard. The Wi Fi was B30 an... More

Come to this guesthouse if you are not sensible to ignorance and rude people...otherwise you are better of with the twins around the corner. Only good thing to say is the tidyness of the rooms. Atmosphere has gone because the owner transformed this place a moneymaking machine instead of staying the family guesthouse that it once was. Sad!

This is always a lovely place to stay in Bangkok. It's in a quiet Soi near the river, and just far enough away from craziness of Khao San Road to be peaceful. The guesthouse is a converted traditional Thai house and the family that runs it has lived there for several generations. You can still see the odd picture and... More

I've been staying this family run guesthouse more than 10 years. If you are not looking luxury strongly recommend this guesthouse. Great location near the Chao Praya river. 3 mins walking distence from pier. Less than bus stop. Affordable prices when you compare others around.

Staying in Banglamphu

Neighbourhood Profile
Banglamphu
While you’ll see skyscrapers in most parts of Bangkok, it’s the gilded roofs of ancient pagodas that adorn the skyline of Banglamphu, the city’s historical and most touristic district. Hordes of tourists flock to this area to tick quite a few must-see attractions off their to-do list, with the Grand Palace being the most spectacular of them all. Banglamphu is also home to Bangkok’s infamous tourist ghetto, centered around Khao San Road. Visit at night to feast on road-side pad thai, cheap beers and if you’re up for it, some dancing fueled by buckets of Thai whiskey.
