The hotel was perfectly located and excellent value for money, it was situated within a walking distance from khaosan Road. Right in front of a local supermarket, and right behind the river. The building is quite modern even though the rooms are just made of concrete and quite small. Bathroom and shower were nice! Wifi available + computers downstairs. The... More

Very clean, very nice and helpful staff, good and central location (15 minutes walk to Grand Palace, many possibilities for streetfood, good massage places...), nice rooftop bar with live music. They have a safe in a separate room, so bring a lock ;-) All in all a good cost-benefit-ratio.

We booked here because we wanted some place that took online reservations and had reliable wifi. It suited us fine for our first days in Bangkok as we wanted some place quiet to get over jetlag and plan our next steps. I wouldn't necessarily recommend it to others as it wasn't the most conducive place for meeting other travelers but... More

The room has little extra space, especially after placing bags. The bathroom is tight. Both were clean. The Bed is HARD - not just firm. Be sure to request a room away from the elevator because it is loud. I would also want to be away from the stairwell due to the nice upstairs. WiFi was fine, and front desk... More

It ends up having everything you really need in a budget travel situation- a clean room in a great, quiet and central location with a couple of extra perks (air-co, tv, wifi). The rooms are small but more than enough for a few days, close to Khao San rd without the noise and the mess. The rooftop bar is nice... More

Overall it was a good place to stay in Bangkok. Staff were helpful and the rooms were clean and comfortable. The rooftop bar was pleasant, had a nice atmosphere and was reasonably priced. Two small negatives: the toilet blocked easily (but this seems common for S. E Asia) and transport to the newer areas of bangkok wasn't totally straightforward

Minimalist decoration but nice. 5 minutes walking to khaosan road. Very helpful staff, they gave us a map with all the musts, restaurants and piers, which was very useful. Excellent wifi. Good A/C. Bad news: From 5am you can listen all cars in the street. Bring earbuds! Really good price. Will come back when back in Bangkok.

Clean, close to Ko San rd. Try to get a room with a balcony where you have personal views of the riverside. If you sit on the rooftop bar and do not buy a drink they will tell you to leave because others are wanting to sit in your seat even though there isnt.

The staff are very friendly and the location is alright, walking distance to the khaosan road. The bathroom is nice and the air con is decent. The beds however are the hardest things imaginable. Nearly as hard as the Spartan concrete floor. Decent enough hotel.

Great location. Less than 10 mins from Khao San chaos and 3 mins to the river ferry. It feels like a concrete cell block unless you have balcony at the back and can watch the locals fishing in the canal. Nice but over priced rooftop bar. Full of friendly local Uni students. Dreadful amateur live music (don't worry they stop... More

Staying in Banglamphu

Neighbourhood Profile
Banglamphu
While you’ll see skyscrapers in most parts of Bangkok, it’s the gilded roofs of ancient pagodas that adorn the skyline of Banglamphu, the city’s historical and most touristic district. Hordes of tourists flock to this area to tick quite a few must-see attractions off their to-do list, with the Grand Palace being the most spectacular of them all. Banglamphu is also home to Bangkok’s infamous tourist ghetto, centered around Khao San Road. Visit at night to feast on road-side pad thai, cheap beers and if you’re up for it, some dancing fueled by buckets of Thai whiskey.
