Oh I'm sorry, did I interrupt your moisturising routine with a question? Rude staff who change the prices at the bar on a whim to suit themselves. Other staff who can't even acknowledge you. The only plus side is the location, but even still, if you look a little, much better places with better facilities (pool, gym etc) for the same... More

I choose this because of location - right across the street from the main train station and within walking distance to the river and old town. I had a single room - very basic, but clean with a private bath and a small fridge. Cafe downstairs was pricey, but convenient for morning coffee. Couldn't beat the price - less than... More

Bangkok was our first stop on our trip to Thailand and we were quite impressed with the standard of the hostel. We had picked this one because we were leaving from Hua Lamphong train station which is located just across the road. The hostel is very easy to find and to get to from Bangkok Suvarnabhumi Airport. We were staying... More

The place was used as a toilet and shower. Clean and convenient.Free towel, shampoo. Very busy in the morning hours. Cafe is overpriced badly, 180 baht for a simple set. There are many better options around.

Located just across road from Bangkok's main railway terminal - Hua Lamphong, this hotel has excellent connectivitiy to all parts of the city via train, MRT and bus. Even Don Meung airport can be reached (of course leisurely) by local train for just THB10 (30 cents)!. City bus no 53 (non AC) stops bang on the door step which can... More

The Hua Lamphong hotel is perfectly located if you have to catch a train in the early morning, since the train station is just across the road. Other than that, the rooms are dump and hot, the shower didn't drain properly and the floor neve dried. The restaurant downstairs is overpriced. The bed was comfortable but unfortunately the blinds are... More

Stayed in a single room for two nights with ensuite. Room was small but fine with everything I needed. Very clean nice hostel with great staff and yummy food from the restaurant. However I wouldn't recommend this hostel for solo travellers looking to party or meet a bunch of people as it's far out and more family orientated. It's easy... More

We stayed here because of its proximity to the train station- was ok for one night to catch the train, but wouldn't stay any longer. Nice but overpriced cafe downstairs and room was newly renovated and even a bit stylish, however the bathroom had a terrible drain smell and a cockroach crawled out of the toilet, which I didn't even... Nonchalant front office staff who answers queries with one liners, straight faced. Busy with social media and youtube at front desk. Room (standard double room, 303) was in sad condition: old furniture, stiff mattress. Cant even get the toilet door to close without breaking a sweat. Water pressure was non-existent for the shower. Paid about $60 for 2 nights here... More

Fairly rude, they tend to ignore you and seem to help reluctantly. Wifi is good. The room I couldn't fault, we stayed in a double and our teenager stayed in a 4 bed unisex dorm. Dorms were clean and often empty, with a nice view being on the front. Our room led on to the stairwell and was clean, new... More

Staying in Silom

Neighbourhood Profile
Silom
Despite the lack of any major tourist attractions, this lively neighborhood is a favorite of many. Whether it's the (somewhat naughty) nightlife of Soi Patpong, the various handicraft night markets or the plethora of dining options that tickle your fancy, a night out in Silom is a must on every itinerary. It's worth a stop during daytime, too: join office workers on a quest to tasty street food during lunch and shop at Silom Complex for a great mix of Thai and international stores. After a day of strolling around the congested sidewalks, a visit to Silom's Lumphini Park, Bangkok's answer to NYC's Central Park, is a welcome change of scenery.
