For me the Udee Bangkok is more a boutique hotel than a ordinary HI hostel. The whole building is nicely designed and the rooms are really wonderful with nice little design details! Everything looks brand new and the kitchen, the beautiful common area and the...More

The owners of the hostel have the best information on getting around so my suggestion is to tell them where you want to go and they will show you the best way. The hostel is a little far from the city center but you can take a cab, tuk tuk, or bus (there's a free bus, I think it was number 3). The free bus is crowded, old, and doesn't have AC but there's also another bus that is much nicer for a nominal fee. Taxi is fairly cheap specially if you are in a group; tuk tuks cannot always be trusted. With either taxi's or tuk tuks, make sure you negotiate the price before getting on. The Skytrain isn't bad either but it reaches limited areas.
