Somerset Thonglor is still an ok place. Its location is 5*, the rooms are fine and the reception staff is very good. This said: age shows. The towels are frayed and greyish. A top hotel would have replaced them a long time ago. Breakfast is worse than ever. A parody of Thai and Japanese food simmers along. Under the blast...

Since Somerset Thonglor was completed in 2010, I have stayed at this well kept hotel and serviced apartments for my Bangkok visits. It's near enough and far enough from the hustle and bustle of the dense and busy urban city areas. Thonglor is a popular residential area for cosmopolitan Thai locals and expat residents. Directly across the street from an...

The location is convenient, the service is good and the room is clean and big. We liked the swimming pool even though it's not big, the view is good. The breakfast variety is not very much, however they are tasty. Worth to stay!

The hotel is situated right in the middle of Thonglor, where clubs and pubs are readily available. Big and spacious room, and most importantly at a very reasonable price. Hotel staffs are friendly and approachable.

Actually it would have been a 3,5*... sorry about that! However, the rooms are big and clean, the staff is very friendly and helpful and the gym is definitely good. Good rates, the surrounding area is good (not my favourite one though). But... I understand it's a sort of apartment more than a hotel room, but I am the kind...

Pretty good and central in BKK. Close to train station. Plenty of eateries around. Couple of drawbacks: 1. Bathroom supplies are minimal. If you are a gym person who takes more than 1 shower/day please buy your own shampoo, body wash etc. from 7Eleven which is next door. 2. Whilst Property boasts of rewards program and their tie up with...

Staying in Thong Lor & Ekamai

Neighbourhood Profile
Thong Lor & Ekamai
Known as Bangkok’s hippest neighbourhood, Thong Lor and Ekamai is where the city's well-dressed and well-heeled spend their nights sipping cocktails in hidden speakeasies and posh restaurants. Live it up in one of Thong Lor's extravagant clubs and be prepared to brush shoulders with a Thai celebrity or two. While great for a night out, the area is nothing short of interesting during the daytime, either. Expect a mix of savvy coffee shops, pop-up bars and loads of vintage stores, brought to you by hip locals with eyes for design.
