I visited Thailand five years ago and remembered my stay here so booked again this year for the 3 nights we were in Bangkok. Great location, in the centre but far enough away from the loud blaring music. Great customer service, all staff friendly, rooms clean. Food is amazing and would definitely recommend you eat there. Great quirky hostel in...

Located right next to Khao San Road, Sawasdee House is perfect for walking around one of the noisiest parts of the city. Perfect access to local restaurants and food, this hotel is enough for a simple traveller. Walkable distance from where the bus dropped us off at too. The room was SIMPLE. Two beds with heads facing each other, a...

We enjoyed our 1 night stay at this hotel. Room was clean, had Wifi, AC and a safe, and an outdoor bathroom with a view of rambuttri street which was nice. Hotel offers a variety of different size and types of rooms for travellers, most under 1,000 bht. Nice restaurant atmosphere down stairs and we were able to have a...

The location is perfect, just near khaosan, on sumbutri. The room is pretty clean and neat. Hospitality is average, the front desk girl when we checked in was quite cocky, other than that we didnt managed to communicate much with other staffs. Bring earplugs if you cant sleep with noise, as the occupants came back mid morn with a bit...

This has been the worst place i have stayed since been on my 2 month trip through SE Asia. 90% of the staff are rude, and have no care for you what so ever. With most cons and some pros this was my experience: Cons: As me and my friends are staying here, i wanted to go and check on...

The atmosphere downstairs in the restaurant at night is incredible and the room was clean! Only fault was the very noisy air con and the bathroom is bog standard (and the shower temp wouldn't work) if you don't stay at least experience the restaurant

I found this hotel extremely cheap, less than $10 US. I'd bet there are very few hotels that are this clean and this cheap! It's also on or near streets with amazing nightlife. I'll probably end up staying there again if I come back to that part of the city.

You get what you pay for. And for under £50 for a double room with its own bathroom for 3 nights, we can't really complain. We asked to see a couple of rooms when we arrived and chose one which was back facing, so had a fairly quiet night's sleep each night. Not silent but that's to be expected given...

Sawasdee House is a great place to stay if you are in Bangkok and Would like to stay near bars and restaurants. The place has nice rooms and excellent service. Good food and nice staff. We had the possibility to rent a locker and leave some stuff until we come back from island hopping!

Staying in Banglamphu

Neighbourhood Profile
Banglamphu
While you’ll see skyscrapers in most parts of Bangkok, it’s the gilded roofs of ancient pagodas that adorn the skyline of Banglamphu, the city’s historical and most touristic district. Hordes of tourists flock to this area to tick quite a few must-see attractions off their to-do list, with the Grand Palace being the most spectacular of them all. Banglamphu is also home to Bangkok’s infamous tourist ghetto, centered around Khao San Road. Visit at night to feast on road-side pad thai, cheap beers and if you’re up for it, some dancing fueled by buckets of Thai whiskey.
