The owner is a really nice lady and this was our first ever stay in Asia. Hopefully every guesthouse is the same! With a bit of a (nice)messy common area, it feels like home. Our room were a bit small, but ok. Good and clean showers and toilets!

Good location as it was close to everything but not in the madness of Khaosan. The rooms were comfortable and the breakfast set you up for the morning. The most valuable aspect of this guest house was the advice from the staff who saved us a lot of money in helping us to navigate the very cheap public transport of...

Sam Sen Sam is the perfect place to stay at in Bangkok. It is located in a small road and therefore it is really quiet at night. Still you can walk everywhere in the historical centre of Bangkok. Breakfast is quite good, especially the italian coffee. The rooms are simple, but clean and staff is very friendly and helpful.

I would not recommend it. This place is average. We booked tours through them and were very disappointed, we have paid more than others plus a vip bus they booked for us for 1300b costs only 860b at bus depot. They are very greedy and often rude. Rooms were rather clean although we found nails on the floor. Breakfast included...

I have stayed at Sam Sen Sam twice recently for about 3 weeks in total and would highly recommend it to anyone. Over the last 3 months I have sent numerous of my friends there, who all recommend it. Yes there are cheaper places avaiiable but not for value for money. It is very clean and of a high standard....

I found Sam Sen Sam a really nice place to stay. Our room was clean, the bathrooms were clean. It was quiet but only a short walk from Khao San Road and the staff were really friendly and welcoming. They even offer a discount for stays of 4 nights or more.

This is a delightful guest house on a quiet street in Bangkok, near Kao San road and river transportation. It was spotless, and our room was lovely, colorful and air conditioned. The tiled bathroom with wooden floor was huge. I believe we were upgraded to a special deluxe or president suite. It was the Kiwi room, #4. It was a...

The previous reviews about the friendliness of the staff are true. They are more than happy to answer any questions that you might have and to book onward travel etc. We had a double room with a shared shower. As we stayed during the low season we didn't have to wait for the shower or toilet, but it might be...

Generally the staff were very friendly, the place was clean, and the location is pretty good; a few minutes walk from the main road and Khao San, so it's quiet at night without being remote, and there's a 7-11 at the end of the street. The breakfast choices were all nice, and we were very happy with the freshness. Our...

We arrived late at night and were greeted very warmly. Breakfast was tasty and the common areas very clean and cosy. Cute garden, comfortable room. Location is walking distance to markets, river ferry and many restaurants. A good base for our first time in Bangkok. Hosts were very friendly and helpful. We recommended this for comfort and affordability

Staying in Banglamphu

Neighbourhood Profile
Banglamphu
While you’ll see skyscrapers in most parts of Bangkok, it’s the gilded roofs of ancient pagodas that adorn the skyline of Banglamphu, the city’s historical and most touristic district. Hordes of tourists flock to this area to tick quite a few must-see attractions off their to-do list, with the Grand Palace being the most spectacular of them all. Banglamphu is also home to Bangkok’s infamous tourist ghetto, centered around Khao San Road. Visit at night to feast on road-side pad thai, cheap beers and if you’re up for it, some dancing fueled by buckets of Thai whiskey.
