We could not have asked for a better place to stay after a long flight! We stayed at the lodge for a couple nights at the beginning of our trip and because we had such a positive experience, we made sure to stay another night at the end of our trip. Despite being close to all the major tourist action,...

We stayed at samsen5lodge in January 2009. Worapan and May were extremely friendly. We enjoyed our stay there very much. We had interesting conversations with Worapan on culture and architecture - topics he kows a lot to tell due to his original profession. We wish all the best to both of them and if we come to Bangkok again, we...

I arrived in Bangkok late at night after traveling all day. A friend made the reservation for me to stay at the Samsen 5 Lodge. I can't tell you how impressed I was with the accommodations. Very comfortable rooms. Clean and quiet. Excellent location. Close to everything. The staff, including Worapan and May were just wonderful. My stay could not...

We stayed at this guest house in January. Overall nice room and good service. Very helpful and we had a free boat trip. I was very sick when I was in Bangkok and the owner was most helpful and accommodating. Would reccomend. Daniel Papanicola

Staying in Banglamphu

Neighbourhood Profile
Banglamphu
While you’ll see skyscrapers in most parts of Bangkok, it’s the gilded roofs of ancient pagodas that adorn the skyline of Banglamphu, the city’s historical and most touristic district. Hordes of tourists flock to this area to tick quite a few must-see attractions off their to-do list, with the Grand Palace being the most spectacular of them all. Banglamphu is also home to Bangkok’s infamous tourist ghetto, centered around Khao San Road. Visit at night to feast on road-side pad thai, cheap beers and if you’re up for it, some dancing fueled by buckets of Thai whiskey.
