We wanted to be close to the major tourist attractions such as the Grand Palace and Wat Pho and wanted to avoid the expensive, fancy hotels. We decided to book Neighbor Phuthon after reading the reviews, and we're glad we did. Located in an old shophouse about a block off a busy street, the hotel has a real neighborhood feel and is remarkably quiet. We had the family room, which, though not large and very simple, was very clean and comfortable (with the most comfortable bed of our trip). The room has air conditioning, WiFi, and plenty of electrical outlets. Breakfasts are really good—each day brought different Thai breakfast treats that were delicious. We even did laundry there. The staff are helpful and friendly, and it felt like coming home each day after our explorations. It's about a 15 minute walk to a metro station, and the Grand Palace and Wat Pho are also about a 15 minute walk away. It's easy to catch cheap tuk-tuks and taxis near the hotel. Definitely recommend as a local alternative to the big hotels.

Ideal location for visiting the Grand Palace and Wat Pho, and also 10 mins walk from the Khaosan Road area. The neighborhood immediately surrounding the hotel is also lovely. The staff are friendly and helpful, breakfast was very good and the room was clean, cool and spacious. Great stay! Thanks.

Neighbor Phuthon is a divine boutique style guest house situated in the old city of Bangkok. It is positioned in a beautiful street where there is lots of local happenings, great food and parkland. Everything from booking to check out was exceptional. And there is a lot of little things that sets Neighbor Phuthon apart from other guest houses. The building has been beautifully restored. The fit out has been respectful in its respect to old Bangkok. There is some great pieces of furniture within the foyer, dining area and it is truly comfortable. We had an upstairs room that looked out on to the street and park. The room has a great bed with exceptional linen and fluffy pillows. There is a separate shower and toilet. The room was quiet and clean and we had exceptional sleep. Breakfast was amazing, we stayed four nights and had different breakfasts every day. Good coffee was also served with breakfast. The owner and his support staff were gracious and helpful with guidance on good eateries and general advice. The owner was beautiful in getting up at 4:30 am in our departure day to help us with luggage and taxi. We also had washing done at guest house for a reasonable price. We loved our experience here and we will be back. This place is a peaceful retreat from the busy hustings of Bangkok. Also want to make mention of sustainability with glass water bottles and bath lotions:)))

I cannot praise this small charming hotel enough There are only 8 rooms in a 150 year old building in the back streets of Bangkok just 10 minutes walk from the Grand Palace. The owner Mongkol looked after us so well from the moment we arrived. His nephew M escorted us to a nearby street restaurant, ordered for us and escorted us back to the hotel. We saw Mongkol making the pork dumplings that he was going to serve at breakfast. He arranged a tuk tuk ride for a Bangkok at night tour and also booked us a taxi for the airport. We told him that we really liked Pad Thai and he took us to a restaurant that specialised in it. The rooms were very comfy with a huge bed and very comfortable pillows. The air con was very good . Bottled water was supplied every day. There was a hairdryer in the room. The breakfasts were varied and very tasty. Lovely coffee. The area around is like being in a local community where everyone knows each other. We loved it. Mongkol and his nephew speak good English.

Yes, we would come again. Our room was upstairs and better, more expensive I think. It is not a luxury accomodation but it is a kind authentic, original, family run and they really do their best, prepring good food, keeping rooms clean. The air cinditioner in our room was premium, very silent in a night/mountain breeze mode. Would be perfect if the family would improve the cleanliness and a look at the back/kitchen area... especially the back rest room just behid the reception/bar. Family, do it and get even more positive comments and reviews! Do not miss to explore the surrounding...and to taste Michelin recommended mango sticky rice just around the corner. ...o yeah, next to the hotel is a Not to miss! ice crem bar (matcha and a black sesame are must must).
