We stayed here as a family of three for 4 nights and had an enjoyable stay. The room was basic and a little sparse, but clean and functional; with a little one it was worth paying the extra to have an extra-large room as the standard rooms are rather on the small side. The staff are friendly and the lady...

We stayed here for two nights & decided to stay another night as we was happy & content with it's location. Helpful staff who made you feel very welcome upon arrival. The room we had was a basic double which had a huge bed and a nice spacious balcony, basic but everything you want and need. Around a 5 minute...

As most other comments say as well: a very clean and complete place to stay. There was a lot included in the price, as others already mentioned: minifridge, water, safe... stayed in a private air-con room. Small but sufficient. The matress was hard, but it was nice and clean so after a sleepless night at the plane we were quite...

The room we had was very spacious and had a tiny balcony looking over the quiet street (great for drying clothes in front of the AC unit after the rainstorm!). Good bed (a bit hard but that's the way they like it in Thailand), room very clean. Fridge with complimentary water and a room safe. Staff were friendly and helpful...

The rooms are really basic, but they're clean and the hotel is located on a quiet back road which is worth a lot in noisy Bangkok. Breakfast was a pleasant surprise, staff is quite friendly, they're used to travellers arriving on overnight trains and are prepared for early check-in. You can reach all the major sites by tuk-tuk and walk...

We stayed in this hotel for two nights, the room was very basic and so was the bathroom! The breakfast that was included was good and you could help yourself to free tea and coffee throughout the day! Wifi worked well and free water in the fridge! Location was good! You can't expect it to be perfect when it's so...

Stayed here for one night, in a double room with aircon and private bathroom, as a stop over between koh Tao to Chiang mai so we were pretty tired from the 8 hour bus journey. I couldn't sleep as the mattress was so hard - good job as at 1.30am a bed bug crawled over my arm! We squished it...

I stayed there in my first two nights in Asia ever and it was a really nice start. Rooms are clean and got a safe, balcony, shower, AC, few bottles of free water in the fridge etc. The breakfast was one of the best budget breakfast I've ever had with toast, eggs, fried rice, fruits and some other stuff. Wifi...

I stayed here for two nights at the end of march 2013. I was keen to get out of Bangkok quickly. The hotel itself offered good value, basic furnishings, a safe, hot shower, tv, space for washing and a fridge. It was close to Khoa San Rd and quiet in the evening. It was perfect place to g away from...

I stayed there for 10 days and then asked to stay for a few more days. I was at first told ok but then that the owner had accepted a booking from Thais so I would have to leave. There seems to have been a little confusion with more than one person organising the bookings. Most hotels check if guests...

Staying in Banglamphu

Neighbourhood Profile
Banglamphu
While you’ll see skyscrapers in most parts of Bangkok, it’s the gilded roofs of ancient pagodas that adorn the skyline of Banglamphu, the city’s historical and most touristic district. Hordes of tourists flock to this area to tick quite a few must-see attractions off their to-do list, with the Grand Palace being the most spectacular of them all. Banglamphu is also home to Bangkok’s infamous tourist ghetto, centered around Khao San Road. Visit at night to feast on road-side pad thai, cheap beers and if you’re up for it, some dancing fueled by buckets of Thai whiskey.
