We were pleasantly surprised to see how nice this hotel is (after having several experiences where the hotel was not as nice as the brochure). Our room was nice, with tiled floor, the comfiest bed we had during our whole trip in Thailand, a spacious room, large closet to fit our backpacks, air conditioning (although at the time it was...

Stayed a few nights while attending a convention at a nearby Orchid Sheraton. Saved a lot of money. Swan hotel is only $1.50 from the Sheraton. Clean, basic, a good size pool, big breakfast included.

stayed here for a few nights and can't complain, the room was nice and spacious, you could pay for internet which proved to be quite useful. Very close to the river which was good for transport.

We stayed here twice during August and September between excursions to Chiang Mai and Koh Samet. First time just because an accommodation rep recommended it at the airport and the second time because my son loved the pool! The rooms are ok, clean and spacious and the buffet breakfast is fine, lots of fruit and English/American or Thai cooked option...

We stayed at this place for 4 nights. The single rooms are not very nice as they are very small and not very nice to stay. The double and triple rooms are nicer as they are bigger. The bathrooms are basic with open shower but this is something common in all the hotels of Thailand where I stayed. Differently from...

We stayed at the Swan Hotel for one night. We had seen the pictures on the internet and the rooms looked good with ok value. We actually wanted to stay for a week but after one night we were so put off by the rooms, the staff and the breakfast that we decided to leave. We booked a much cheaper...

I booked it online, and was told that I would be paying 800 baht a night. When I arrived I was charged 916 baht. The complimentary water that was supplied I think was straight out of the tap. As I had the runs the next morning after drinking it (around 8 hours later). I had not eaten anything else since...

We selected the Swan Hotel in Bangkok based on a recommendation in Lonely Planet. We searched it on the internet, and were satisfied from what we found that it would meet our requirements: clean, quiet, low cost and well located. We've learned that hotel photos can be from many years earlier, and not to expect what you see on arrival...

We stayed at the Swan Hotel on 3 different occasions during our time in Thailand and we always looked forward to coming back here. The reasons are: * Great location in riverside near the main Th Silom and striking distance of major sights * Incredibly clean rooms with fresh linen and towels on arrival * Really friendly and helpful staff...

We stayed a total of 7 nights and thought it was excellent for the price. It is not a 5star hotel. We had a deluxe room and found it very comfortable. It has a typical Thai bathroom which some people might find confronting but we were at the end of a month in Thailand and had used them before. We...

Staying in Silom

Neighbourhood Profile
Silom
Despite the lack of any major tourist attractions, this lively neighborhood is a favorite of many. Whether it's the (somewhat naughty) nightlife of Soi Patpong, the various handicraft night markets or the plethora of dining options that tickle your fancy, a night out in Silom is a must on every itinerary. It's worth a stop during daytime, too: join office workers on a quest to tasty street food during lunch and shop at Silom Complex for a great mix of Thai and international stores. After a day of strolling around the congested sidewalks, a visit to Silom's Lumphini Park, Bangkok's answer to NYC's Central Park, is a welcome change of scenery.
