I have stayed here on numerous occasions due to the 4 C's of travel - Cost Comfort Courtesy and Cleanliness, remembering it IS a 2 star resort masquerading as a 4 star.
Check in was done efficiently and in a friendly manner. I asked for and was given a downstairs room on the understanding that the room had NO hot water and the room telephone did not work, why I have no idea.
As I was only there for one night, come from the bush and have travelled throughout SEA for many years, these minor issues were of no concern.
My room was spotless, large and airy. Tea and coffee are provided as was free water. I am a traveller so the TV whilst there did not interest me. Soap and shampoo were provided as were two clean towels, though they were nearing their 'use by' date.
I dined as I always do when at the Thong Ta at the food stalls near the main road. The food was fine, fresh and tasty, remembering it is 60baht so I am not expecting a banquet. There is plenty of good quality food outlets in the area and many clean friendly bars, mainly across the road from the hotel.
I slept well, got a 'knock on the door' wake up call and caught the free shuttle to the airport, all good. No complaints. Would and will stay there again. Luckily I judge places on my needs, and the cost. Would I have a vacation at Thong Ta, NO, but for one night, no problem.
It is what it is 'a cheap overnight place to stay' before catching a flight, bus or train out of BKK Nothing more nothing less.

I stayed at the Thong Ta Resort in 2013 and really couldn't say enough good things about it, The hotel grounds and rooms were very well maintained. On this trip it appeared to have digressed slightly. Our room had an excellent A/C unit, the plumbing worked and we managed to get a good night of rest but this is really a cheap accommodation with no frills. The furnishings in the rooms are very out dated, although the room was clean it's not sparkling clean, more like bare minimum and in our hallway there was a foul odor. But for $23 US per night it provided a safe, cool and decent night of rest.

Total disillusionment. The hotel is definitely not at 3* level. No elevator. The room smelled unpleasant, ordinary windows that don't leak at all and all the sound from the main street is right in your bed. Maximum one night and run to the airport.

We've stayed at Thong Ta for many years. We continued staying because it was reliable for pickup/transport from the airport. When we arrived at the apt on 2 Mar Thongta informed us they were no longer doing transportation......due to covid. That ended that conversation and relationship with thongta.

This place is awful. I was looking for a place to stay that was close to the airport. I had a very early departure. First thing I noticed when walking in the door is that there was no air conditioning running. It was a very warm day. Checked in and had found out there was no elevator. Lucky for me my room was only on the second floor. Lugged my suitcases up the stairs and opened my room door and again hot air. Figured out to turn on the ancient air conditioner. The bed was missing the mattress. All that was there was the bed springs made up to look like a mattress. So uncomfortable! The white comforter had stains and what looked like blood. Just gross. Walked into the bathroom and there was no shower curtain. Just the rings that used to have a curtain. I noticed a coffee pot and asked if there was coffee and there wasn’t any. I had checked in late in the day so no time to move to another hotel. Only positive note to this so called “resort” is that it was close to the airport.

What I love about it is that there are lots of street food to choose from around the area. You can take Grab bike to the nearest train station in Lat Krabang. The room is alright, it's big for solo travelers. But the variety of food is unbelievable.

A hostel at best. We have stayed on several occations, but no more. Never again! To our suprise there were no transportation between hotel and airport. Room on high floor and no elevator. Bed is very hard and rocking from side to side, so unable to sleep. No working aircondition. Only positive thing is that it is close to the airport..., but we are sure there are better options in the same area.

First of all, I want to state that I don't have a high expectation for any overnight transit hotel. I don't pay a whole lot of money for the room and I don't expect to use a lot of their amenities either. Having said that, I do have some criteria that need to be met. I would say that Thong Ta Resort succeeded and failed on those expectations.
Shuttle Service -- I am afraid I have to give them a failing grade on this one. I had to wait more than 40 minutes when I arrived from my late night flight to BKK. That is unacceptable. On the way back to airport was much better. I had to catch the shuttle at 5 AM and the shuttle left without any delay.
Check In -- I usually don't mind the wait if the staff were helping other guests, which was the case. The rudeness from the girl at checkin was just plain bad customer service. She hardly made eye contact, cracked a smile, and always replied with less than 1-3 words.
Room -- I booked my room on Agoda and chose a 'premier room.' The rate is $3 more than a standard room rate. However, I was placed in their new building is much much better than the ones in the old building. The room is new and nice for an airport hotel.
Surrounding Area -- I didn't walk around around as I was too tired. Plus, it was too late to be walking around anywhere anyhow. The area seems to be lively at the late hours though. With that, there are a lot of noises, especially live music playing that you can hear well into 2 AM. If I had arrived earlier I probably would walk around and get something to eat in the neighborhood. It is a plus that the hotel is not in the middle of nowhere.

We stayed here for one night for an overnight stay on our way to Chiang Mai. I asked to reserve two rooms on-line. They processed one and I sent a follow up email to make sure we had two rooms for our family. The email answer stated that two rooms were reserved but I could pay for the second room in cash upon arrival. I did. They charged me on my cc for both rooms, as I saw on my statement, so I paid for three, not two rooms. I sent them a copy of my cc statement with the two charges and after many denials, they admitted they a mistake had been made and would refund my cc. They never did. I contacted my cc company and with copies of the emails, was able to obtain a refund. Very dishonest practice on the part of the the staff at Thong Ta. I cannot recommend that anyone stay here.

Yes! The resort runs a van every 30 minutes. Exit the tetminal through door 4. Just before exiting there are representatives from tons of hotels wiating. Tong Ta usually has a staff person there. If you don't see anyone, just wait outside and look for the van. The driver stops near exit #4and the na e of the resort is on the van..
Yes they will store your luggage. but the city is quite far away (45 min taxi ride) and its not near the airport train line. I would not stay here if you want to explore the city. instead stay closer to the city or at least a hotel that is near the airport train line.
The shuttle works 24 hours a day.
