I would call this more a hip hotel than a hostel - we had a private room with private bathroom and the bed was comfortable, the aircon cold and the room size was perfect. Lub D has great facilities (including washing which comes in handy when you are in a city for 10 nights) and the location is great.

Great time and met awesome people. Stayed in the all-girls room, always felt secure. Clean sheets and towels. Great air-con in the room, which was always running (no down time like some other hostels). Bathrooms & showers were always clean and there was never a wait even though it was shared by multiple girls. Great happy hour specials everyday, but...

This hostel was a great one for our stay in Bangkok. It's a 5 min walk from Chong Nonsi, which is the easiest way to connect with the major sights in Bangkok. The beds are comfortable and good sleeping, the rooms are clean, and bathrooms well equipped. I had a great stay and would return if in the area again.

Dorms were excellent and staff was always extremely helpful with any issues. This hostel is pretty popular so most taxi/tuktuk drivers know exactly where to bring you. Warning if you dislike insects! I spotted a cockroach roaming freely along the stairs as well as dead insects in the sink of men's bathroom. Another issue I had was that their drinks...

Had a great time, met lovely people, stayed in female dorm which was very secure. Clean sheets and bathrooms. Staff were very friendly, offering maps and giving suggestions on where to visit. I loved it so much I came back and stayed again at the end of my trip in April. It's in a great location, easy to get around....

I really enjoyed staying in this hostel. When I got in, I was feeling a bit sick and I was able to upgrade to a two-bed room and they were very understanding and kept it empty for me alone until my sister joined me two days later. We made separate bookings, but from our surnames they have recognized that we...

Me and my friend stayed at Lub D Silom back in September when we first started travelling, was very clean and ticked every box in terms of facilities. Decent AC, good security, decent sized lockers, soap and shampoo in the toilets, a shelf and charging port by the bed, very helpful staff. It's not a party hostel but felt quite...

Super social hostel with plenty of people to hang out with at all times either on the front terrace or lobby. There is a bar with a good happy hour. Rooms were fine, maybe a bit warm. Beds a little hard but that can be a standard in Asia. Location is decent with a not too long walk to the...

I backpacked through here at 29 years old. This place is better than a hotel. Very clean and nice, and great people to keep you company. I highly recommend coming here. Rooms are good, bathrooms are great, staff is excellent. A bit of advice: make sure to get breakfast at the markets. The Hostel breakfasts aren't great, and are overpriced,...

This hostel is amazing. Great atmosphere, friendly and helpful staff, nice cheap breakfast. The location is pretty good too, though you'd probably have to spend some money on taxi if you don't want to walk too much in the heat. I stayed in a private room but still met a lot of great people in the bar/common area. My room...

Staying in Silom

Neighbourhood Profile
Silom
Despite the lack of any major tourist attractions, this lively neighborhood is a favorite of many. Whether it's the (somewhat naughty) nightlife of Soi Patpong, the various handicraft night markets or the plethora of dining options that tickle your fancy, a night out in Silom is a must on every itinerary. It's worth a stop during daytime, too: join office workers on a quest to tasty street food during lunch and shop at Silom Complex for a great mix of Thai and international stores. After a day of strolling around the congested sidewalks, a visit to Silom's Lumphini Park, Bangkok's answer to NYC's Central Park, is a welcome change of scenery.
