The Howard International House is a very nice, calm and carefully maintained hotel with excellent breakfast offer, nice calm rooms and a very acceptable price in the middle of Taipei. The university is in walk distance, also 101 takes about 20 - 30 minutes to walk. You can enjoy a nice gymn and indoor pool and there are a lot...

This was a great hotel stay in the heart of the Daan Park District of Taipei. The hotel is directly across from National Taiwan University and provided excellent service, clean rooms, and friendly staff. Most employees spoke at least some English for those of you visiting who don't speak Mandarin. The breakfast buffet included an excellent variety of items. The...

I can only give this hotel an average rating. The rooms that we were given had a sitting room and a bedroom with a bathroom attached. The bed linen was clean, bathroom was bright and clean, but the brown carpets made it look dirty. The breakfast buffet had a good variety of choices, and the nearby park made my stay...

How do you rate a hotel that has one of the most comfortable beds I slept in away from home fitted with immaculately pressed, clean sheets set in a large, comfortable space that also features dirty carpets? Where depending on the shift you interact with desk staff who either are out of their way helpful or give you an impression...

I spent several nights here. Although the hotel is ageing, I enjoyed my stay and would generally recommend it - although you do need earplugs (see below). Let's focus on the basics: GOOD NIGHT'S SLEEP? Yes and no. The a/c unit was noisy, but as I had a two-room suite, I found I could a.) use earplugs, and b.) just...

From outward appearances, the hotel seems to be quite reasonable. However, on repeated occasions, the hotel staff have overcharged me by asking to pay twice, or to pay for a room already paid for in advance. Only through the intervention of a third party / authority have we then been successful in getting a refund for the overcharged amount. I...

We were several days in this hotel by invitation of the Taiwanese civil service (who are in the same building!), so I have no idea about prices.... :) However, we liked the hotel. Rooms were big and excellent, soundproof and with good airco. Very good bed. Breakfest was okay (but not very special, as more often in Taiwan do not...

The room was quite simple, with a single bed, a fridge, table and bathroom. Not very spacious though. The reception staffs spoke English and helped to get taxis as necessary. The room also has an AC. The room service was good and prompt. The buffet for breakfast, lunch, dinner are quite good in the restaurant. There were lots of options...

This room was booked for me and I only stayed three days but it was quite pleasant. I had a single room with a single bed which was quite comfortable. I could adjust the temperature as needed so sleeping was no problem even when it was hot. The room and attached bathroom were quite clean and the buffet for breakfast...

I stayed here for 3 nights attending a Buddhist retreat. I used to live in Taipei (83-85) so speak a bit of Mandarin. This is more a business or conferance type hotel not a 5 star hotel which is fine as you are paying a fair rate. Staff are attentive. Rooms are simple but clean and all works well. As...
