The hotel looks old. Whenever the room size and cleanliness is acceptable but the room smells bad and I felt really uncomfortable with it. The light in room also the corridor are too dark even I had switched on all but still unable to read a book. If your trip is purposely to visit their famous Garden Night Market which...

The facilities are quite new and the hygiene is okay. Service is good. Need to take taxi when going out because the bus only stops every 40 mins. Our room is a twin room and can see the road by the window. Very quiet at night. Only one Famliy Mart and one Japaniese restaurant nearby.

Visited the hotel on 19th August, artistic decor at reception, well maintained hotel with spacious rooms and bathrooms, fibe breakfast and friendly staff. One point to note is that, there isnt any entertainment aroubd this area. Will stay again here for short business trips. Paul Selvam Devadoss Malaysia.

A nice location if you value tranquility as it is situated away from most tourist attractions in Tainan City. Rooms were clean and spacious. Nice buffet breakfast. Courteous and helpful staff. This hotel is famous though for its proximity to the famed Garden Night Market where over 100 hawker stalls offering local delicacies, apparels, household items, games etc. Be aware...

I have never been to Tainan. This was my first trip. I prefer walking, but touristy spots are 20 minutes away by taxi. Too far away. Service is great. Well designed rooms and lobby. Excellent buffet breakfast. But view from our room overlooks an empty unkept lot. The night market is worth a visit and within 15 minutes walking distance,...

The selling point of this hotel is that it is just right next to Garden Night Market, where you can find one of the best and cheap hawker food in Taiwan. Going to other tourist attractions would need to drive or get a cab/public transport. However there is no or little problem in getting around Tainan city. Taxis are abundant....

Staying in West Central District/ North District

Neighbourhood Profile
West Central District/ North District
The West Central District is the most populous and the busiest area. A lot of shops and hotels crowd the district, and the long-standing history results in a variety of street food. In addition to that, this district also has the highest number of temples. This is how it got the name “Tainan’s Pantheon.” Historic buildings are literally ubiquitous. For example, Hayashi Department Store, National Museum of Taiwan Literature, Confucius Temple, Chihkan Tower (formerly Fort Provintia), Sacrificial Rites Martial Temple, Tainan Grand Mazu (name of a goddess) Temple, etc. Recently, the tourism in Tainan has laid emphasis on alleys and lanes. Examples include Fujhong Street specialising in creative handicrafts, as-you-stroll desserts on Jhengsing Street, Shennong Street lined with hundred-year-old ancient houses, Sinyi Street on which the old city gate stands, Sinmei Street where old and new cultures fuse together, and Guohua Street and Baoan Raod famous for all the savoury food. All the traditional and delicious food and flavours are about to burst in your mouth. The North District, on the other hand, is a quiet secret hideaway. Lane 321 on Gongyuan Road used to be a Japanese soldiers’ dormitory. Now a few artists have set up their studios here. There are diversified art styles in each old Japanese-style house. The Garden Night Market on Haian Road is one of the famous night markets in both Tainan and Taiwan, and was the top 12 Facebook check-in location worldwide in 2013.
