Detailed Reviews
We've been stay in Fish Tail Lodge for three nights in total and in two different rooms. One room is in front of the garden and the other is in front of the lake. Both rooms have very good views. The customer service in this hotel is fantastic. We really enjoyed staying there and all the staff there always have a lovely smile to us. They would provide the best option of the room and treat your worries as their worries. The Fish Tail Lodge also provide tour booking for us as well and offer us a reasonable price.

Fishtail lodge is the most breathtaking getaway, but the staff is where the true beauty lies. I have traveled the world and experiences great locations but this location has given me memories for a lifetime. Working in hospitality for 20 years I have never had such genuine service…
Prakash initiated our first dining experience and it was so remarkable we never left the resort to go anywhere else! At dinner time he arranged us a special table with candle and gorgeous view, I felt so VIP. I’ve spent my career creating experiences for other people and rarely get to experience it on my behalf! The chef even came to visit our table to check in on our meal, I’m glad I had the opportunity to give him compliments because the quality of food was the best I’ve had in Nepal.
We were also visited by the wonderful Ganesh, who arranges the excursions. He was so friendly and no pressure, I could tell he works hard every day to make the guests’ trip complete. And even though we backed out of paragliding last minute he was very understanding. Because we were having such a relaxing time we didn’t want to leave, so enjoyed an hour and half at the spa! The girls were wonderful and really put the cherry on top of our opportunity to relax! The groundskeepers and housekeepers were always smiling and greeting us, I could tell they really enjoyed their job.
We were so content on site we sat at “our table” every morning and evening… Surendra and Hasta Bir delivered exceptional service and it was not just that, they truly became our friends. I’ve never had my expectations exceeded in such a magnificent manner. Training service for 20 years I wish I could have staff like them to help teach back to others. You have authentic people at Fishtail and I send all the praise to them and hope they get the recognition they deserve.
Sagun at reception was so delightful and helpful, she really ensured we had everything we needed. After working in Kathmandu for 4 months this was the perfect place to center myself… and enjoy my first days of marriage with my husband. I hope we have the chance to return and hang out with this outstanding staff again… oh and also the view, which is secondary to the experience. Thank you Fishtail!

Excellent resort: The two of us stayed one night at the resort before we wonton do our trekking tour. The resort is in a beautiful well manicured park like setting and has well appointed, comfortable and clean rooms with all amenities. The place is certainly appropriate for a longer stay. The location is across from Pokhara separated by a small arm of the lake. The hotel offers complementary boat service to cross the lake any time of day or night. We ate Dinner and Breakfast in the restaurant and were completely satisfied with the range of foods offered and the quality.

The rooms and the structure are very nice, even if they show the sign of the years. The resort is on an island, which has a certain charm but it is necessary to take into account the movement on the mainland with a rope raft. Having been there in February, not a high season, breakfast was not served buffet style, so with a fairly limited choice of food. For this reason, I only give three stars.

We ended our tour with a bbq dinner at Fishtail lodge.
The GM Mr Arun Pradhan was very hospitable to accommodate us and customize our dinner for us. One of our friends was celebrating his 21st birthday and it was a big deal for him as in the US it marks the legal age for drinking. He loved the dinner and the surprise birthday cake that was given. Sitting outside beside the lake enjoying the bbq and bonfire was definately the highlight of the tour. We were also given a tour of the place and enjoying the sound of the nature.
Thank you to the staff of fishtail for a lovely evening.

Main reason for the rating is the location and views. I was very lucky with my room (it did come at a cost) with subbing views of the lake and the mountains.
Reason for not giving it a higher score is that the hotel is very dated, seems to have been massive at a time and it hasn’t kept up to date with many things
Bathroom wasn’t nice for a £200+ stay and something as basic as no light in my night table .. I had to stand up to switch off the lights
Staff were very nice on arrival but on departure they couldn’t have been less helpful. Receptionist was not helpful when the card reader wasn’t working and she kept blaming it on my card - it was their problem in the end. Finally when I was leaving (went back to pick bags), receptionist was rude, and wouldn’t help. There is a lovely person helping tourists with bookings (sorted my bus tickets to Kathmandu) and he booked me a cab for a fraction of what the receptionist wanted me to pay

Fantastic! Other than a couple of very minor issues with the room (not all electric outlets worked and some scuff marks on the wall) - everything was ideal. I spent three nights here in November on a short vacation with a friend.
The room was clean, the shower was hot, the food was delicious, the views were incredible, and the service was top notch. From the airport pickup, to the complimentary fresh juice on arrival, the help in booking experiences, the kindness and friendliness of the guards, servers, and managers - it was great service from start to finish.
What amazed me right in the beginning was that my friend and I arrived at the hotel around 8:30 am because of our flight time. We didn't expect to be able to check-in until at least noon. But they let us check in at 9 am! And, they let me check out at 2 pm, and store my bags for as long as I needed, before leaving in the evening.
The breakfast views were incredible. Truly incredible. Every morning, I spent about two hours eating a very slow and delicious breakfast, while reading and starting at the mountains. Even when there was cloud cover, the view of the lake was also gorgeous.
My friend and I rented kayaks from the hotel, which was fun, being able to take off from and come directly back from the hotel. The ferry shuttle was available 24/7, and made coming back late and leaving early feel safe.
Highly recommend!

Far from the maddening crowd, 'Fish Tail Lodge', Pokhara, Nepal. 'Fish Tail Lodge' is a resort located at wooded foothill of Phewa Lake peninsula which is accessible only by small ferry boats/ shuttle boats. Car parks are at mainland.
Viewing the calm water of Phewa Lake is amazing.
Hospitality and professionalism shown by the staffs are outstanding.

Prefer to go for interconnecting rooms, so that a max of 6 pax + 1 child can stay. It is highly advisable to talk to them (fish tail) and try to find a solution.
I think you can se the rooms on line. They are comfortable and nice with a bed, a small table, a refrigerator, a TV, a balcony and a nice bathroom. I do not think I took pictures of the room but will check.
yes you can be guest of course
