We stayed for two separate nights, eating dinner on one. The hotel grounds were extensive, lawned and planted with a wonderful variety of flowers, shrubs and trees. There was a stream with a pool containing large, colourful carp. A reasonably sized swimming pool was situated in a good patio with plenty of chairs. It was a bit of a hike...

Set in beautiful gardens, we found the Shangri-La Hotel in Pokhara to be much more restful than its cousin in Kathmandu. The rooms are low-build with generous balconies / patios. Recommended for rest, recharge and as a stopping off point for the Pokhara area.

Quiet refuge from the bustle of Pokhara with pretty gardens & distant views of the mountains. We had a nice first floor room with a balcony. Not part of the famous chain but still a good place to stay.

Food is excellent and the treatment by Chef and serving staff extremely good. Service not up to the mark. Spa is Good yet highly overpriced. Well maintained garden, pond with fishes. Banquet hall when busy is a disturbance to resident guests. Shopping is very expensive in Village shop. Rooms are great with interior decor and furnishing ethnic. Local transport is...

This is NOT part of the world class Shangri-La chain. It is a basic hotel, adequate, rooms are okay if a little tired. I think this is as good as it gets here, after all visitors are here to experience trekking not luxury hotels. The local menu in the restaurant is very good and the staff are mostly pleasant and...

Pokhara is a wonderful destination. Trekking is abundant, lake is peaceful, orphanages are calling for visitors. And this hotel is wonderful. Rooms are classy, grounds are meticulous, and food is scrumptious.

We stayed one day and one night after our ABC trek in this hotel. As for clean room with nice decorations, balcony with chairs, table and nice mountain view and clean bathroom with hot shower there is nothing to complain. As for its location, it is quite inconvenient that you have to take a taxi or their 1-2 times a...

Great setting in very well designed and kept grounds. Food was excellent served by attentive staff who were concerned and helpful over our reaction to pollution levels in Kathmandu. Rooms were comfortable and spacious and clean. Views were special

Lovely rooms, gardens, pool, staff and food but a long way from the lakeside with nothing within walking distance from it. Such a shame because it's position really let's this hotel down. They do have a courtesy bus a couple of times a day but you don't really want to be tied to the times of the bus.

When we travel, we seek out small, locally owned and operated hotels with personalized service. We are more interested in staying somewhere that reflects the adjacent community and we are less interested in large, chain-operated hotels that are the same anywhere. If you are also interested in this kind of unique hotel experience, the Shangri-La Village Pokhara is for you....
