We stayed a full week in Kathmandu after 1,5 month of travelling India and Nepal. We usually stayed in comfortable hostels but were looking for a little more than that in Katmandu. And we found it at Hotel Ganesh Himal. Great quality of rooms, warm water at all times, helpfull staff, lush garden en quiet rooftop terrace. Just outside of...

After landing in Kathmandu and being driven through a culturally challenging landscape it was nice to be sleeping on a relatively quiet street in the heart of town. The hotel is small and intimatebut there is little restaurant in the garden and the food didnt kill me.I met several people who were regulars which is a very good sign I...

A comfortable room with great staff at reception who helped plan a 2 day trip away with less than 12 hours notice. We just said where we wanted to go and they organised it. Very efficient! Location is good - walk one direction into the main Thamel stretch.... or the opposite way to Kathmandu Durbar Square. 10-15 mins walk in...

The room was large and bathroom good. Unfortunately our room smelt of the fumes from the generator. This also made it difficult to sit outside in the garden when the generator was on. The towels were also damp and mouldy. Prior to our trek we did like being away from the main hustle however upon a return and staying in...

The hotel is good and there is free wi fi even inside the rooms. The accommodation is quite simple and just like in the rest of Kathmandu electric energy is not always available. The staff receives you with a nice cup of tea. The hotel have a very beautiful garden where you can have breakfast and a really taste dinner,...

This was our favorite hotel in Nepal. We stayed a total of five nights in December 2012. We stayed in a deluxe double room for the first four nights and stayed in a super deluxe room for the last night when we returned to Kathmandu after traveling around Nepal. The hotel is in a quiet neighborhood away from the hassle,...

The staff here were great, spoke fluent English, and were really helpful with everything. The hot water was plentiful and quite necessary after a long trek in the Gokyo region. My friend had a quiet room, but mine was not so quiet, but that is normal for neighborhoods in Kathmandu. The 5 minute walk to Thamel is easy even at...

This is the second time I've stayed at this hotel. I was a less impressed this time. When we arrived our reservation was not as we had requested. We had been upgraded to a suite (the most expensive room) which would be fine except we had to pay for the more expensive room. This was frustrating as we had booked...

I stayed here with a group of students last November. We were a large and at times very rowdy group. However the staff were extremely helpful and tolerant of our group taking over communal spaces. The surrounding area is mainly residential, meaning you are really immersed in Kathmandu daily life... Breakfast was a highlight in the garden, listening to the...

A lovely peaceful hotel in central kathmandu. It is only 5 minutes walk from thamel but set back in a quiet lane to offer some peace and quiet. A very clean and comfortable room with a properly hot shower! Staff were incredibly helpful and accomodating since the booking was made last minute during peak season.
