I spent about a week staying at Fuji Hotel with friends in April 2023. I cannot imagine a place that feels more like home. Not only were the rooms spotless, with comfortable beds and warm showers, but the service and staff are the some of the best I’ve ever encountered in all of travel. The front desk helped my group with many queries, from storing luggage, to making hot lemon ginger honey tea for those who were under the weather, to recommending excellent restaurants and neighborhoods to try around Kathmandu. This hotel is also on a quieter street in the heart of Thamel, which means that it is quieter at night when sleeping! Will be staying here and only here the next time I’m in Nepal, I cannot recommend highly enough!!

The hotel is quiet, which may be because it doesn't have a bar, and therefore more comfortable than some of the more party options! The real thing that made it special was the staff, all of whom were full of smiles and so helpful. They speak a number of languages fluently, supply bottles of water each day in the room, and cook a delicious breakfast which although buffet, is always freshly cooked in small batches so it's never xinjealed the way some breakfast bufets can be. It has some beautiful views from a number of roof terraces and I recommend buying in a beer and having a quiet drink watching the sun go down.

Stayed here before and after our G Adventures EBC trek and, although it’s not a ‘luxury hotel’, it was absolutely fine for us. Note that G Adventures don’t include breakfast in their itinerary but if you book extra nights it will be included. I must say that the staff go above and beyond and nothing is too much trouble for them and management. I was assisted with my testing for return to the US (yes we’re ridiculously required to test still !!) and a staff member even accompanied me to buy a local SIM card for my phone. This personal attention really made my stay in Kathmandu memorable. Thank you Fuji Hotel !!

Hotel Fuji was the best place I stayed in all of Nepal. Beyond an incredible location, great facilities/rooms, the staff and team at Fuji made my stay wonderful. Everyone is very helpful, kind and warm. The rooms were spotless, comfortable and spacious. The breakfast and tea was delicious. You are steps away from the thriving bars and restaurants in Thamel. Would recommend this hotel to all friends and family traveling to Nepal. Thank for such a wonderful stay!

Good location. Spacious room. Very friendly staff, always there to help.
TV, wifi, heating and hot water all worked.
The water in the shower tool a while to get hot. The shower itself did not look very inviting but it did the job.
Breakfast was ok.
I would stay here again.

We stayed at the Fuji one night prior to our trek. Upon entering the staff were extremely friendly and helpful. However the power was out and our room was on the 4th floor so we had to take the stairs but they were more then happy to help with the luggage and we were about to do a trek so walking didn't bother us.. The rooms a spacious clean comfortable the bathrooms are basic but have what you need and the location is unreal in Thamel which is one of the better shopping districts in Nepal and good restaurants aswell

I stayed here for a gadventures tour for a few nights. Well located in Thamel. The room was average, spartan perhaps but clean. Breakfast was fine. I used the hotel services for a few things, including left luggage and arranging taxis. All in all I found the service polite. The Japanese owner was also around for a chat in the lobby throughout my stay. Free wifi was good. I had a balcony to my room which was nice. For the price and service the hotel is good and I would return.

Spent three days here at end of great g-adventure gig grom delhi to kath via agra, varanasi, pokhara and other.
Two rooms are extra special but you have to seek them out as we will want to stay in them when we get back to kath in 2013. Hotel is owner-managed and dudes know good service. With a lot of japanese guests (hence name) owner knows and gives high quality japanese expect.

Stayed here for several nights as part of G Adventures tour. Room was nice enough, but we only found out when we stayed an extra night that G Adventures was putting us up in an upgraded room. The room we stayed in on our extra night was a standard room, meaning that there was no air-conditioning. We stayed at another hotel around the corner before the tour, and whilst the room was about the same, it was a fair bit cheaper.
