This is not your normal hotel. Don't expect any modern facilities. The rooms were very basic (we took a single and a double bed rooms), small, but comfortable. No telephone, no TV, no kettle, not heater, no wi-fi, etc., but it has a beautiful gardens. The room itself was so charming and the atmosphere was so rustic and traditional. At...

We stayed here for 3 nights and things hadn't gone to the best start as the booked hotel car wasn't at the airport to pick us up. They let us chose between different rooms; the building is beautiful, well decorated with well-maintained gardens and the rooms in the main block have a lot of character. Note dogs will bark all...

The previous reviewer of this hotel, Catherine B said :"Vajra needs health check up". I would say that this hotel needs major surgery! I very rarely write negative reviews and do try to find something good. This hotel does have one good feature: It is in an oasis in the middle of the hustle and bustle of Kathmandu. The gardens...

The staff was very friendly and we paid 75 US/night in the Deluxe Room -tax included. We requested a room with a balcony, which they gave us. The staff was always friendly...

Spent 2 nights at this hotel after we've decided that Thamel was too noisy for us and our guide took us to this hotel. We fell in love with its garden. It was so refreshing to wake up with the smell of flowers, bird chirping instead of of the constant honking and dog barking around Thamel. We enjoyed ourselves lazing...

We used the Vajra as our base when travelling around Nepal. The service was very good and the staff very friendly. We stayed in 3 different rooms of different sizes, and I have to admit that they were all very nice. They all had an ensuite and they were very clean. On our last day we got upgraded to a...

We stayed in this hotel on arrival in Kathmandu. We had made a reservation via the hotel internet site but then we found out that no room had been reserved for us. By chance another room was available so it worked out in the end. Before leaving the hotel to go on a trek we made a reservation for a...
