I did not actually stay at the hostel but I needed help getting some contact information about two travellers who had been staying there and the staff was really helpfull and friendly. Thank you. The two travellers who did stay there recommended it and I think I will stay there when I get back to Kathmandu.

Having been recommended this hostel bey a number of people we could not help but feel dissapointed by what we found. Beds were uncomfortable and mattresses and duvets badly needed changing; bathroom facilities were not adequate with no privacy and permanently cold showers which you would not expect for the price. On the plus side terrace has a great atmosphere...

The bed is fair, the food on the rooftop restaurant is fair as well. But the environment on the rooftop is perfect, place to make new friend. The toilet is too bad that the door seem like will fall down anytime, and the space is extremely small and pack with rooms.

You can see lots of pictures, books, and reviews from travellers. Nice location in Thamel. Near bars, and tourist-filled places! Just the shower room looks a little dirty. Hot shower available! Good for friends and backpackers

Close to Thamel main roads and to the tourist bus station, the Alobar1000 is the ideal place for solo traveller (and also for groups of friends). The staff is frendly and efficient, the design colorful and welcoming, the kitchen and bar good and cheap. Meeting point for travellers from allover the world, there you can share travel tales and know...

I was recommended this hostel by a friend that said it was the best hostel they had ever stayed in. Perhaps my expectations were set too high by that. Generally I am not a hard person to please but I did have a few issues with this place. First of all is the location, it's a little out of the...

I stayed here for just one night as I was transitioning from one accommodation to the other. My two sisters stayed in a private room and I stayed in the six bed female dorm. This hostel had a really awesome vibe and was busy even though we visited in the off season. Has its own travel place at the hotel...

I stayed very shortly but I could see there was a good vibe in the hostel. Smiling helpful receptionists, somewhat working wifi, quiet area of Thamel, fairly near to the bus stop. The reason for going lower on the ratings is the fact, that the rooms are not 'sealed' and mice get in through a hole under a door, running...

Love this hostel and will definitely be back!! It's a great place to meet fellow travellers, whom you will probably meet again on your travels (they have a relationship with Kiwi Hostel in Pokhara, another fun hostel). I met the same backpackers 3 times on my travels which was awesome. They create a 'community' for you. Their rooftop bar with...
