not a bad place for its price (i bagrained hard and got 600 ruppee a night), the room was just cleaned before me and windows open wide. Coming back in the evening I didnt realise I got the whole room full of mosquitoes! No protection nets on windows! Annoying buzzling mosquitoes flying over my head and body. The result: i... More

This hotel is owned and operated by a family, and their love for the place really shows. Located in the heart of Thamel, Hotel Red Planet is centrally located, and the staff can dispense great advice about things to do in the city. Just a few minutes walk away are amazing breakfast places, great shopping for tourists and travelers, kooky... More

I stayed at the Hotel Red Planet for two weeks.Niti and the staff are always cheerful and happy to help, they became like a family to me. Location is great, right in the middle of the Thamel, close to "BET CHABAD" בית חב"ד. Rooms were clean and included a TOWEL and TISSUE PAPER which were an amazing suprize as all... More

My husband and I stayed at Hotel Red Planet three different times, as we did treks and other trips outside of Kathmandu -- and it began to feel like home. The staff is stellar: we chatted daily with Niti and her crew, Niti in particular was incredibly helpful with advice about tours, dining options (we tried two if her favorite... More

Stayed here several times during my trip to Nepal and every time found the staff to be friendly and welcoming and very informative. Rooms were very clean and secure and even though the hotel is right in the middle of Thamel, the rooms were quiet. Recommended!

Stayed here for 5 nights overall. really good location in the centre of thamel, right next to tom and Jerry's pub which is always fun. The staff at the reception desk are so kind and helpful, let us in late when the doors where locked without a problem. Our room had no outside window, just one onto a corridor which... More

Very sincere, genuine and friendly people. All the workers are very kind and Nitti herself just blew us with her friendliness! The rooms are tidy and they're such good value for money. An awesome experience after all. Highly recommended!

I just wanted to leave feedback on the Hotel Red Planet in Kathmandu. I've stayed here a number of times during three trips to Nepal over the last seven years and I've always found the place to be good value and the staff friendly. But on this most recent trip the staff went above and beyond the call of duty.... More

We arrived at the Red Planet Hotel having had a look around some other hotels in the area and found this to be the best value for money. We were not disappointed. Not only is this hotel fantastic value for money, but it's in a great central location (Yes, there is a bit of noise, but I defy you to... More

Amazing, honest and super helpful local friends at this hotel to help you find your way around the chaos that is Thamel. In short, the rooms are basic but clean, paid about AU$15 per night for room 207 which had strong wifi inside. Really liked that there is a large water filter to refill your bottle downstairs for only 10... More

“Corner 2nd floor is roomy and bright, with several beds. My room, 208, has a small terrace and good bathroom and shower with solar-heated warm water. There is also a nice sunny area on roof to lounge in. Again, staff was terrific.”
