I was booked in to this hotel by our tour company. We stayed at this hotel at the beginning and end of our trek. It is situated in excellent location of Thamel, no in the center with crowd, hidden down an alley. Courtyard was very inviting and overall a quiet place to sit, away from the hustle and bustle of...

Excellent hotel with excellent location at Thamel. Rooms were clean with satellite TV and electricity worked fine in the mornings and evenings. Only complain was food at the restaurant. That is why we only ate breakfast. Lunch we ate only once. People at the hotel were super nice and helpful all the time.

The rooms are spacious, clean, and with good food right on sight. It's also convenient to Mandela Square - a nice place to eat/shop without so much competition from cars as you walk down the otherwise busy streets.

We were surpised nice of the Thamal Eco hotel. The rooms were big enough, with hot water shower and satellite tv. The beds were comfortable. The holl and ambiance was very decorative in the Budda style similar to the restored district "Dobra Square" set up. The atmosphere in the hotel seemed very reassuring though it was the middle of the...

We stayed in this hotel as a part of our trekking to everest base camp in March 2014. This hotel is situated about 30-45 mins from the airport through hustle and bustle of Kathmandu City, in touristic area of Thamel where the streets are a shopping capital for Trekkers and for all those bargains. The hotel has few floors and...

A great place to stay in the busy Thamel district. Down a small street it is a haven away from the hustle and bustle. A well kept courtyard and garden to sit and relax or enjoy a meal and a drink. Rooms vary in size with the bigger and better ones on the upper floors. Room 503 was the best...

I stayed in 3 different rooms during my trip; they were all a good size and I had hot water showers. The hotel is down a side street in the centre of Thamel, so for its location it's relatively quiet although do expect to hear some noise. There are plenty of options for breakfast and drinking water is provided. Electricity...

A nice peaceful retreat in the heart of the crazy Thamel tourist district. If you have never stayed in Thamel, it is bustling, loud and never sleeps! This hotel is down a small street off the main drag of Thamel. It has a lovely courtyard, which is great to relax and read a book or grab a drink. It is fairly...

The huge staff takes excellent care of you. Rooms are small, but clean. Hot water not reliable, but it's Katmandu. Hotel generator provides backup power and takes a few minutes to kick in. Really nice garden area, and huge breakfasts. Drinking water provided in courtyard. The staff will bend over backwards to make your stay great. Wifi also very spotty,...

Second year I stayed here and again a very pleasant experience, some of the staff even recognized me after 12 months! If you're looking for more than a guesthouse and a central but quiet location, Thamel Eco is the perfect place to stay.
