I stayed here for 2 months - November and December 2016. It became like my second home. The gardens, food and staff are amazing. I was travelling alone for work and so the staff became my friends. Thank you Tashi and the team for looking after me. See you soon!!

Completely overpriced - the rooms are run down, moldy, broken doors, grubby mattresses, floors falling apart - and expensive prices probably because they can. There's a quaint little restaurant next to the hotel with average food. This place has been around a long time, and it shows. All of that could be ignored, but when things don't work at a...

Have used this guesthouse many times in the past because of its quietness and relative closeness to Kathmandu airport. Sadly it has been run down. The rooms need redecorating, the pillows replaced and the room's lighting made to work.

The best guest house in Kathmandu, placed inside the monastery property, with a beautiful garden restaurant and cafe. Food is amazing. IT is a very peaceful place, and very close to Buddha Stupa. Love it

I have lived at Shechen Guest House for months at a time and have often housed large groups of visitors there. The rooms are spacious and clean, with parquet flooring and decent bathrooms. Reports that the rooms are dirty -- mentioned by other reviewers -- are simply untrue, in my experience. Likewise, claims that the rooms are too expensive for...

Scarry. I was hopeing that I would get another outlook on buddhism and it settings. That was what I came here for. I was recommended Shetshen. But it deffenetly did not broden my horison. And not many things can broden theirs! Dirty rooms, a Little, but that is Kathmandu.

This was a very enjoyable trip. We are usually in Thamel but wanted something in KTM that was a little quieter. The rooms are basic as always, but some nice touches with Nepali textiles and thermos flask. There is wifi, but it is a bit patchy - given the outages - it was sometimes only good enough to email if...

I would recommend Shechen Guest House as a quiet escape from Kathmandu's hustle and bustle. The rooms are simple and clean, with attached bathrooms. Hot water isn't reliable as it relies on a solar system, if the weather isn't sunny the water won't be hot. I had one very refreshing cold shower! Breakfast is included and is plenty. Great to...
