We are a party of 8 and booked 3 rooms months in advance for our first couple of days in Kathmandu prior to our trek. We arrived to find that the quad ensuite room we booked had 'plumbing problems'. They offered to move the kids to the darker and clearly cheaper backpacker hostel next door but we wanted the kids...

Shangri-la Boutique Hotel is simply amazing. The building is centrally located what makes is convenient to explore the city and take part in Kathmandu's nightlife. Moreover, rooms are clean and well-taken care of, and all the necessities like hot water and wifi work without major problems. There was a big group arriving that day, so they put us in a hotel next door wich was clearly cheaper for two days and when we paid they charged full. At first they said there was a plumbing problem but the guy later told us the truth. In the other day, when we tried to change the hotel, they...

I love this place! It's a quiet place located in Thamel, with a great breakfast and an even better atmosphere from morning till evening :) The rooms are getting a little old, but the hotel manager just started to renovate the building from top to bottom. So I'm excited to see the development if I'm back in Kathmandu :)

Not exaggerating when it comes to the food in this hotel. The freshly made vegetable and onion pakhodas served on the rooftop terrace were divine - we had it the first day in Nepal, salivated thinking about them throughout our hike in the Annapurna region, then ordered 2 portions of it when we returned. Fried rice was amazing too and...

Very welcoming with a rooftop restaurant and bar. With hours of my arrival I was able to book a well-priced, high-quality, private trek on the Annapurna Circuit. HUGE thanks to Sagar Karki, who spent a week showing my the mountains and taking me over Thorong-la Pass.

They don't know how to treat guests. The manager is a lier. The staff are not prepared. I booked on agoda website and they wanted to charge me more. I asked to change room and they didn't wanted to make the change because I'm a woman and I had a male friend on the mixed dorm. The bathroom stinks. The...
