Getting to Shivapuri is half the fun - a 30-40min drive through the city chaos, up a steep narrow winding lane to the end, then a short hike up to the cottages to be welcomed with a much-needed cold lemon drink. The whole property is beautifully spread across several terraces, and the cottages and gardens designed for peace and functionality...

We were 2 families with kids ages 8-15 that stayed here for one night. The cottage was tough to get to considering the poor road quality and maddening traffic. Initially we were second guessing our choice. That changed once we got to the cottages. Amazing hillside views of the city and fantastic hospitality. The staff was incredibly friendly. At night...

My stay was all about relaxation - a chance to kick back and soak up the ambience of this beautiful property with the perfect combination of good company, stunning views, fine food, tasteful Nepalese décor and warm hospitality. The in-house massage was divine. Hosts Steve and Neeru have found the right balance between western luxuries and Neplaese charm. Guests have...

We wanted to finish our month travelling in India, Bhutan and Nepal with 2 nights away from the hustle and bustle of crowds and to relax before heading back home. The 2 nights that we spent at Shivapura Heights Cottages allowed us to do just that. Our room was in the main house and we had our own balcony with...

We spent two nights there at the end of our trip to Nepal. A real haven from the traffic and pollution of central Kathmandu. The owners and staff were very friendly and clearly enjoyed having guests. We were made to feel almost part of the family. The food was excellent . Breakfast was served on a sunny terrace with a...

Me and my girlfriend stayed there just for two nights and it was perfect in every way. The location is good, the food tastes great and the two dogs are awesome. All the people working there are obviously liking it - what makes the stay even more enjoyable. We would definately come back!

We spent two very relaxing nights ,in mid February,in this tranquil refuge from the frenetic activity of the city. Our room was in the main house and had it's own terrace with a spectacular view over the Kathmandu valley and the surrounding mountains. The food and general level of hospitality were excellent and we thoroughly enjoyed the guided walking from the...

This year I spent Christmas abroad for the first time, and what a fantastic experience it was! We stayed in a few different places around Nepal but Christmas celebrations were had at Shivapuri Heights Cottages. Having experienced the hustle and bustle of central Kathmandu, it was so refreshing to spend time in a relaxed and tranquil atmosphere up in the...

During our visit to Nepal last year, every time we got a bit overwhelmed by the traffic, hustle and bustle of Kathmandu city we escaped to Shivapuri Height Cottages. Here we could admire the bird's eye view of the beautiful valley and light from a tangible distance and enjoy the clean fresh mountain air in lovely peaceful surroundings. Neeru and...

My wife and I spent two nights at the cottage at both the beginning and end of our trip to Nepal. We loved the ability to head down to the central city to see the sites then escape up into the mountains for some much needed peace again as the city is pretty intense when one is not used to...
