If you are looking for a great authentic Buddhist monastery experience I recommend staying here. Small clean Great guesthouse connected to a monastery. Be awoken daily by the monastic gong @ 4 AM & join the monks for their daily moring puja right next door. This became my morning ritual for over a month and I grew to learn to...

Stayed for over 2 weeks. The room was simple but comfortable. Beds are firm, which I prefer but may not suit all. Apart from the odd dog, the area is quiet from about 9.30 pm til 5.30 am, when the gong in the adjoining monastery is beaten. There is pretty much constant power and hot water. Free drinking water is...

The main asset of this guest house is its location. It is very near the Boudhanath Stupa, which can be reached on foot about 1 minute away. It is, however, difficult to locate if you are coming from outside of Boudhanath. (At this point, it is worth noting that Nepalese hotels are notorious for not using street names and numbers...

Nice clean guesthouse in a great location only minutes walk from the Stupa. Also great to stay in a different area and get out of Thamel. This place is hard to find - my taxi driver ended up asking several monks for directions as they were the only ones who knew the place. Rooms are clean and spacious. Hotel was...

I stayed here in June, while I was on my way to Pokara. It's a guest house that is run by Buddhist monks. I booked it through Agoda, as I would be arriving late in Kathmandu. The place is a little hard to find, or at least the cab driver (certified by the airport, no less) seemed utterly baffled. The...

We stayed twice in the PRK guest house. Our double rooms were spacious and good value. The service is not exactly enthusiastic, but we always got what we needed. A small garden and a large roof-top terrace ensure relaxing evenings. We would definitely go back there due to the good location and the "at home" feeling.

Pal Rabten Khangsar (also called "PRK Guesthouse) is a nice place to live. You will have to accept the nightly trumpets and drums from the monastry that is right behind it. The personnel are kind and willing to help, but not always very good at english. And not very organized either. Do not rely on the offer of an airport...

beautiful location for this guest house near the Boudhanath stupa. The rooms and bathrooms are very clean. Shame that the bedding is as hard. The staff is helpful and friendly; Overall Rating positive.
