Bhutan Peaceful Residency & Spa, situated in a blue pine forest in the upper reaches of Thimphu Valley is a family run premium 3 star boutique hotel located close to the capital’s sights such as, Sangay-gang, Takin Reserve center, while remaining in a quiet retreat away from the hustle and bustle of the Kingdom’s main commercial center.

This small family-owned inn located in the capital city of Thimphu was perfect for our trekking party of 9 sixty something year-olds. We stayed here before and after our trek, and the hospitality of the staff and the owners made this the perfect bookends to our 5 days in the Himalayas. The beds at this hotel are as comfortable as any hotel in the States, and the rooms are spotless. It's a new hotel, with a nice restaurant and small bar. There is a nice steam room and a few massage therapists on staff.
While the facility is top notch, it's the people that work there that made the experience special. I can't say enough about how friendly and efficient the staff is. And the owner and his wife were personally attentive to our group's needs during our stay. I should add that our team booked our trek through the company's trekking organization (Bhutan Peaceful Tours & Treks). Our experience on the trek couldn't have been better. More on that in another review.
Every member of our group is an experienced international traveler. One of the reasons we selected Bhutan for our destination is that none of us had ever been there before. We all agreed: Bhutan is a magical country with amazing people. And the folks at Bhutan Peaceful Residency & Spa helped make this the trip of a lifetime.

This is a delightful hotel with the most charming, helpful, delightful staff you could wish for. The rooms are beautifully decorated and immaculately clean. We stayed 2 nights and had delicious dinner and breakfast. We then returned for another night later on and the staff had kindly given us an even better room and had decorated the room with flowers and formed our towels into flowers with flower petals in the centre. We couldn't fault it.

I was part of a nine person group visiting from the US. We were greeted at the airport by HB, owner of Bhutan Peaceful Residency and Spa and Bhutan Peaceful Tours and Treks. HB and his team provided us an incredible experience, starting with a short stay in Paro, then the 5 day Dagala Thousands Lakes hike. HB provided exceptional service and support along the whole trek, from full meals, hot tea and dessert each day under tents with folding chairs. Even lunches on the trail included hot teas and a small dessert, at 14,000 ft elevation! The crew was attentive to our every need, even providing us with hot water bottles at night to warm our sleeping bags.
HB accompanied us on this entire 5 day hike and then guided us along a tour of cultural sites in Thimpu. Even cold beer was provided.
All of this wonderful service was delivered with the most polite and courteous attitudes we have ever experienced on such an outing. The warm and caring nature of HB and his entire team on the hike and and his staff at the hotel brought our experience to a new level.
Speaking of the hotel, we were quite surprised at the modernity and cleanliness of the building and facilities. Wet spas were available as well as full body massages, a welcome treat when we returned from the trek. The food was also excellent, and Mrs HB even went to lengths to accommodate a special request for an ethnic meal. For the ladies, I'd like to mention that the toilet paper in the hotel was of a high quality, another surprise. I highly recommend booking your next visit to Bhutan with HB and his wonderful crew.

In my opinion 3 star hotel, nothing special but fine. Rooms are large, conveniently furnished with a large bathroom, including a walk-in-shower. Relatively good dinner. Very friendly and polite staff. My friends liked the spa and massages; unfortunately I was too tired to go 😜

Our trekking group stayed at the Bhutan Peaceful Residency and Spa prior to and following an epic trek with Bhutan Peaceful Tours. The hotel experience surpassed my expectations. The location is adjacent to a forest, so it felt very private. The modern property was extremely comfortable, and the food and spa services were excellent. The hospitality of HB and his entire team was genuinely warm and attentive. They made us feel like family. I highly recommend Bhutan Peaceful Residency and Spa to anyone who is fortunate enough to stay in Thimphu.

The experience was wonderful. The staff (and there was a lot of it) was very attentive and wanted to do everything to make us feel good. The atmosphere was calm, fresh and clean. The rooms were very good - this hotel is 3 stars but it is 5 star quality. The only thing I would change is to have more Bhutanese atmosphere in the restaurant.

We had a lovely time with our friends at the Bhutan Peaceful Residency & Spa in Thimphu. The location is just perfect! At the outskirts of Thimphu in the probably most peaceful area; without any dogs barking or other noise disturbing. That is hard to find in Thimphu. The staff was very friendly, helpful and flexible. The food was very nice - a good mix of cuisines - and not too spicy as in many other places.
