Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

The hotel is well located and walking distance of 1km from market place. The rooms are spacious. However, food is very disappointing specially for vegetarians. The staffs are not well behaved and are rough. We booked through MMT and feel that there were better option than this as compared to price paid overall. Try something else.

We were upgraded to a very large room , unfortunately the windows faced a building under construction. So we asked for a room change and got a room with a balcony. Slightly small but a great view of the river. The room was very good well appointed and clean. The bathroom was wonderful however have a small recommendation there should be more light in the bathroom esp above the basin. The food served was good and the best was the staff... they are very loving, friendly and eager to oblige. The place is close to the weekend market, craft bazaar and a 10-15 min walk away from the main street

After reviewing and discussions over series of emails and phone calls with different hotels in Thimphu, we finally decided to stay at this hotel . I was really satisfied talking to Mr. Dorji, who helped me a lot by answering all of my detailed queries without getting irritated . The main problem I faced to transfer advance booking amount to the Bhutan bank as Indian bank representatives were not able to transfer money . He helped me all the way possible and reserved my room until I could transfer amount with the help of a Jaigaon travel agent . Bhutan is a place of beauty and happiness . All people are very kind and helpful . Mr Dorji and all the hotel staffs proved that at every moment during our stay . The room was specious and clean with good mountain and city views through big windows and balcony . Bathroom too was good sand specious . The restaurant also was nice to dine at with delicious dishes . They offered my son some complementary items as well . Thanks to all the staffs at Dorji Elements , specially Mr. Dorji, who made our stay at Thimphu memorable one . I would recommend this hotel to everyone and Would stay again in future .

I give the highest rate for this hotel for the way they treated us, the friendliness, the service given, the food and the accommodation. Everything much more than we expected from Thimphu, slightly expensive place for Indian travelers. (When we visited the next door Mall we found the products in the shelves seem targeted for the Europeans - the European branded products - though much of Europe import food from elsewhere.) Such is the trend in Bhutan. In short this hotel pleased us very well. Ours were not business visit, still to conduct a small business meet, the Hotel seem alright.

The hotel is ideally situated on the edge of town, with a lovely view of the valley below, including the river, Tzong and royal palace. The restaurant had excellent authentic and western food. The staff was very helpful and professional. The room was clean and well appointed. We appreciated having a little kitchen area.

Our room at the Dorji Elements was probably the largest we stayed in on a recent trip through the region, with a nice sized kitchen area and comfortable dining table by the terrace. It was comfortable and pleasant. The hotel staff was nice and they tried hard to accommodate us. We had a fixed menu dinner in the restaurant and it was very good. There is a road with shopping stalls a couple of blocks from the hotel but not much else to see in the immediate area. As others have mentioned, there are lots of stray dogs that can make some noise.

Very good location, near downtown, super market. Well furnished rooms, spacious, clean. The staff was very co-operative, made few of our choices of Indian cuisine for our breakfast. Good housekeeping services. Nice view of beautiful range of mountains from the balcony of our rooms.

Dorji Elements is located right on the main thoroughfare in Thimpu. It appears that all the happenings in Thimpu are centered along the main road there. It is not a very big city with a population of only about one hundred thousand, give or take a few thousand. But the city is nice, clean and so is the hotel. Staff are quite nice, well behaved and helpful. The food is good. Rooms are quite nice with beautiful views. Right alongside the hotel there is a mall where you can buy almost all your stuff. A few eateries are also there inside the mall. Places of interest in the city are easily approachable from the hotel. I stayed there for two nights during my Bhutan tour and found it to be a very good stay option. I certainly recommend the hotel to other travelers.
