I stayed at Chez Jules for about three weeks in October when I visited Kigali for a research collaboration. The place was recommended to me by a friend who had stayed there the year before. Located in Kimihurura, the neighborhood of Chez Jules, is a vibrant and safe one. There are lots of restaurants within 10 minutes walking distance (Ethiopian,...

Chez Jules is a modest, but welcoming home away from home, shared by both Rwandans and expats. Its highlights are a reasonable price, an English-speaking guard and a friendly neighbourhood, where within a 5 min. walk you can find fresh vegetables, bread and other basic groceries. Shoemakers will rebuild your shoes for under $3.00! All five rooms are a fair...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Hi everyone, I have rooms for rent in a lovely, well-maintained five-bedroom, three-bathroom house in Kimihurura. There is a large communal living room, a dining area that seats six, a large front terrace and gardens on-site. The wireless internet has been installed. Kimihurura is a great neighbourhood for entertainment and exploration. There are many restaurants nearby, including Papyrus (Italian), Flamingo (Chinese), Africa Bite (Rwandan), Lalibela (Ethiopian), Car Wash bar and restaurant (good nyama choma) and Sundowner restaurant and bar. New Cadilac night club and Mama Africa restaurant are just down the hill, about 10 minutes from the house. Mamba club house, a seven-minute walk from the house, has a swimming pool available (5,000 FRW per month). We have lunch and dinner prepared by our cook (weekdays only), laundry service and housekeeping (weekdays), 24-hour security, 24-hour hot water and electricity. Breakfast is self-catered. Please note, our cook and cleaner work Monday to Friday and are off on national holidays, but the guards work throughout the week. Hi, I charge 15$ per night self catering for separate room, Monthly is 450$ and 20$ for internet per month. For additional information check in advert. thanks. NB: This offer is for long staying all utilities, guard and cleaning services covered. We charge 20$ for short stay. All of the above amenities are included, but self-catering options are available (with full access to kitchen amenities). I also have a car available for hire, with a driver available on request. Please note, petrol is not included in the rental fee. The self-drive day rate is 40,000 FRW in Kigali and 40,000 FRW up-country, but prices are negotiable for rentals of longer than seven days. 70,000FRW with fuel per day. Cheers, Julius ... more   less

“The master bedroom is ideal because of the space and easy access to the master bathroom. If you are not comfortable with your mattress, you may ask to switch the mattress with another room. I should have done this earlier, which would have allowed me to have better sleep.”

“Ask for a room with a new bed. Rooms at the back are quieter, except when the church two doors down has a service. Some rooms have better closets than others.”
