My daughter and I spent some time at the River Crossing Lodge. The location of the bungalows is exceptional with great views over the city or the mountains. The other bungalows are out of sight and one feels totally privileged. Pool, Bar and Restaurant were great. Staff extremely friendly and helpful Even the cat was nice to us :) I can totally recommend the place.

The view is absolutely stunning. You look toward the west and south, as far as the eye can see. Now they even have a sundowner bar on the deck. The food is good. You have to book in advance I cannot comment on the rooms, though

I was booked here for 2 nights and had to extend my stay for Covid Quarantine. Views from the rooms are magnificent. I found the service great, with management and staff going out their way to ensure that my needs were catered to under Covid quarantine restrictions with all protocols followed. Food is excellent.

Reception was a bit cold not giving all the information. We checked in and then went out to see family. On return we decided to shower... only cold water. There was a phone in the room but no instructions what to call. Used the internet to find the nr and phoned. They said they will send someone. 10min later no response and tried again. They had the room nr wrong but did not go through trouble to follow up. Maintenance guy said the geyser was not working due to wind... this was not true.. the wind was blowing but not unusually. Next morning we reported to the manager who then was clearly uninformed that the issue was not sorted yet. They offered to move us to another room. This is great but inconvenience. We moved our luggage ourselves. The new room had issues with the toilet that needed to be fixed. We insisted on 50% return on our first night’s costs. They agreed but we needed to claim back from Lekkeslaap: or theyll offer us no charge dinner. We opted for the dinner, even though not fully 50% reimbursed but less admin. The food was not great, steak was tough, service mediocre. We ordered wine and a snack platter additionally to the 3course dinner. When we checked out the still charged us for the platter and wine. Personally I believe for credibility they should have let that slide as well. For what we paid and what we got Its definitely not worth the money. The view is beautiful but the view cannot overcome bad service and poor maintenance. The rooms are basic. I would have done something really nice to benefit from the view. There is no mirror in the room, only bathroom. No hairdryer. Def not worh 4 star rating.

Very pleasant lodge on a small hill near town with amazing views, very comfortable rooms, delicious food and attentive friendly service. Perfect place for sundowner, dinner or to unwind after a busy work day or adventurous safari. Thank you so much from an ever returning happy guest!
