We met Hannah at front desk. Spoke fluent English in country nobody understands you. Checked us in. Was really beautiful welcome. Every staff member this hotel is very helpful and very friendly. Even though most don't understand you. Rooms were fine. Nice gardens and pool area. In good location too. If you want coffee in your room. Bring your own kettle and things. They don't provide. You can buy fruit etc across the road. Secure hotel. Very safe.

The hotel is located only around 10 to 15 minutes from the airport. It is a bit of drive into the centre of town, particularly now that Bissau is getting increasingly busy. The hotel is gated with security at the front. It is quite large surrounded by well-maintained grounds. It caters easily for business meeting with both large and small rooms available for use. The bar and the restaurant are both good and we had a decent meal one evening there. The level of cleanliness in the hotel rooms is very high, there are satellite TV with some English language channel (CNN and BBC World). The beds are comfortable. The quality of the AC can be a bit mixed. My room was perfect but in some other rooms it can be a bit ineffective. There is a good sized pool outside. I was impressed by the breakfast - there was a decent selection of option including a range of pastries, fresh fruit and an omelette bar. The free wifi is up an running is was generally okay.
Overall I was extremely pleased with our stay here and it really is the only game in town.

Its located very closed to the airport (10 min) in the city main avenue. There are ones with better location if you want to walk around to go for example to a restaurant. Its a classic hotel from the 80`s with a very large swimming pool surrounded by beautiful gardens and very nice lobby area. The rooms are very normal and the AC is not very powerful and make some noise. The staff is helpful and attentive. The price is high but its in range of other ones in Bissau. Free transfer to and from the airport.

I just came for the day to use the pool and have lunch with a colleague. Good sized pool and good service. A new hotel has arrived in the center which is much smarter and contemporary. The Ledger is closer to the airport.

There is no doubt this hotel is the best in Bissau. Formerly a Sheraton Hotel and now owned by the Ledger Hotel group. The rooms are extremely clean, security seems to be good, food is decent (I preferred eating in the bar than the restaurant), and wifi works. Close to the airport and about a 10-15 min drive into town, traffic dependent.
The main issue I had was the lack of credit card machine, but the hotel manager (nice french man who recently relocated from Nairobi to take over management of the hotel) said there should be a credit card machine in place very soon. An airport shuttle bus will also be in place soon too. Look forward to seeing these improvements in place on my next visit to Bissau.

Traveling to some countries in Africa for business or tourism might be a risk. However there are places which make your stay so comfortable that the measure of risk is removed. Ledger Hotel is one of them. Situated at the Centre of a growing city, near to the heart of Government. It overlooks the cross roads and serves as one of the main conference Centres of Guinea Bissau. Rooms are large and comfortable, even though there are signs that renovation is a must. The restaurant to great and people fell real happy being there. Great services and very kind reception staff. Will surely visit again.

Few choice in Bissau. I know the best hotel but not worth to pay high price for me. Small room like 3 star hotel, tiny bath room like 2 star hotel, not good restaurant. No free airport shuttle service. This is 5 star hotel. Just good for Air Condition, perfect security, large public space, comfortable pool.
