I have been staying there several times in the last 5 years, the quality and service of the hotel has been steadily declining while the rates have gone up. It is a great lottery which room you get, some rooms are still in a good condition, others have their "issues".

I didn't stay at the hotel this time although I have in the past but I visited the restaurant here which is called "Tribes". The food is really good and fresh fruit juice is available. They have added an extra building right by the beach where you can relax with a cool beer and watch the waves and the people...

The overall service at the hotel is just bad!! It seemed like a nice place at first and then I checked in my clients there for a week. The food takes close to an hour to get to your table when you order, you pay 4 cedis for an hour's internet use, the owner is a cranky old man who...

Afia Beach Hotel seemed like a nice enough beach-front hotel to accommodate my father who was coming in from Lagos, Nigeria to visit my sister and I in Accra, Ghana for a week. Big mistake. First, he was checked into a room (Room 25) that was already occupied! Next, when he was given another room (Room 21), the lights in...

Nice location on the beach. The bar and restaurant terrace is quite welcoming. The "balcony room" is large and airy, with adequate airco. Nice protected balcony. Good desk. But… Bathroom is far below standards (loose sink, no water pressure in the taps, collapsing shower curtain). No wifi in the room, only at the bar/restaurant. At the restaurant, if you want...

I don't have much to add to what has already been said by other reviewers. The one thing that I found very strange was that this was the first time in a very long time that we were in a hotel where there was a charge for the use of their Wifi. Although the cost was only about $4/hour, it...

Stayed here when I first arrived in Ghana (Accra)- and again for the last few days. It was a very comfortable spot- with nice Ocean views. (ocean view room a must). It was nice to sit on the deck with the breeze blowing at the end of the hot days. The restaurant was very good- and the included breakfast was...

Only, somewhat bad thing, was the fairly high prices, Afia is, other than that, Amazing. It has this remoteness that you can't forget and can't hate. A/C in the rooms, wide arrange of foods (mostly western), hardworking staff and very friendly. Even the security made sure i was safe personally on the beach while i was out on my laptop...

This is a slightly faded hotel on the beach, with reasonable food and bar and aircon internet room. The individual chalets are a bit shabby, particularly some of the bathrooms, but adequate and come with mosquito nets, aircon and fans. There is no pool, but there is a tennis court.

I agree with the writers who have commented on the food at the hotel. Great food with a good amount of spice! The hotel staff were very friendly - and the rooms were fine. Simple accommodation, but with hot water and adequate water pressure. The beach is nice, but Ghana is not a beach paradise. If you are planning a...
