The beach down from the hotel was absolutely dirty. The woman at the front desk would not give my Ghanians drivers a discount, I felt a bit taken. This place it much too expensive for what you get. However, the location was perfect. Breakfast was good enough. Air conditioned rooms were a treat.

The only thing that is recommended about this "hotel" is most of the people who work there. Had to change rooms 4x on the first day. Got so tired of moving that finally just said, "Screw it" on the final room - even though the door did not lock from the inside. At night I would just pull a piece... More

Whenever we travel to Accra, Ghana - we always stay at the Afia Beach Hotel. We have been staying there for at least 10 years! The most wonderful people work there and they are always ready to provide great service! Plus the location is great - center city!

PROs: The real selling point is the ocean view/ proximity to the ocean. I would stay here again for that experience (despite the littered sand on the beach). The room and grounds were clean. I felt safe. Proximity to Art Center was great for shopping. I also liked having a swipe key card to enter the room and the way... More

We live in Accra in a hotel and wondered whether we could move to the Afia beach hotel. I liked the perspective of staying so close to the sea and the location seemed nice as well. I sent them an email asking whether they had a special price for a very long stay, to no avail. My husband sent another... More

Nestled on the beach but still near downtown, easy access to airport, too. We often spent our night in Ghana there. Very unique location. Beautiful spot that has modern amenities but still feels Ghanaian. That what I really like best. Good restaurant, nice helpful staff.

Probably the only place in Accra where you can sit next to the beach in a pleasant, green location. Perfect location, good service - my favourite Accra hotel. Prices also exceedingly reasonable for what it is.

A delightful African style hotel. The staff are dedicated to ensuring a memorable experience in the resturant U can dine inside or down by the beach. A wooden pailing fence keep hawalkers away from guests. The menue is a delight with tasty traditional food as well as old favorites.

I stayed at Afia Beach Hotel with my family earlier this month. There was about an equal balance of positives and negatives, and overall I thought the place has potential, following some improvements. In terms of location, the hotel is situated in a fairly dead street with quite a rough, dusty road leading to it (as in my attached photo),... More

I never came here to sleep but to spend the day near the beach. Afia has several table setting near the beach. Behind a fence but one can still see through and watch the waves. Yes we all know the water is dirty but apart from this this is a chilled place to hang out. Chicken. Yam chips and fries... More
