I stayed at Crystal Hostel for about 3 months, to do some PhD research work in Accra. It's a great hostel in a very authentic Accra neighborhood, Darkuman. There's plenty of life around the hostel, different types of street food available. For advice, just ask Auntie and Uncle, who run the place, and live on the premises. They're happy to...

The hostel in itself is not bad. Rooms are basic but clean, the two owners are friendly and polite and the garden is really nice and relaxing. The location is far the city centre though and it is a bit isolated, especially if there are no other travelers around. But the most disturbing part of our staying did not involve...

I have stayed here three times in the past 2 years. It has excellent transport links, Kaneshie (market and bus station) is a 10 minute tro-tro ride away, from where you can get to anywhere in Accra. There are also direct buses to Circle and Accra Central from Darkuman (where the hostel is). It is also well placed if you...

I have stayed at Crystal Hostel for a number of times and love it. The hospitality of Aunty and Uncle, alongside the cool, breezy rooftop, make it a relaxed and comfortable place to stay. Of course, it's not a luxury hotel, and complaints about this sort of thing are perhaps a little misguided. Yet Crystal is clean, neat, very safe,...

Crystalline hostel is a great place to stay when in Accra. It's located in the Darkuman neighbourhood, which is not that busy but still has a couple of bars, food stalls and easy transport to Kaneshi tro-tro station from where you can get everywhere in Accra. My room was very clean and had a fan. The mattress was a bit...

Great place, great vibes, great food around on the street (even for me as a vegetarian!!), perfect for those willing to adapt to the ghanaian culture! And really convenient with heaps of tro-tros nearby. Every taxi driver knows how to find it, just say you are going to Darkuman Station. its just around the corner. We did not test the...

My boyfriend and I stayed at Crystal Hostel for three nights, having originally planned to stay for six weeks. I had heard that this was a good place stay whilst working at the Korle Bu hospital. It wasn't easy to get to from the Korle Bu. There is heavy traffic in the area and despite asking taxi drivers to take...

Stayed here one night at the 22nd of July. Pro's: * Very sweet "auntie" runs the place, she is very kind and helpful and she can make breakfast within 10 to 15 minutes, which is incredible according to Ghana standards. * Met some nice people, very oriented for backpackers it seems * Very easy to reach. Just say to the...

I absolutely loved staying here. I stayed for a month while doing a volunteer project at a local hospital and it was great. It is a very relaxed atmosphere and I made lifelong friends with the range of other people staying there during my time. The highlight however, was Auntie and Uncle, the owners. They made me feel very welcome,...

I stayed in the Crystal Hostel for three weeks in the Summer while travelling on a grant to study urban development in Accra. This is a wonderful place, but I wish I had been more adventurous earlier on. Be willing to go out and make new acquaintances and to ask questions. I was ridiculously sick the first few days I...
