By Western standards this is a basic hotel in Addis which is clean and comfortable. Great food, brilliant helpful staff, in a good location. Excellent views over the city from the roof top bar. Free wifi is a definite bonus. I had a very pleasant stay here and would recommend to anyone who would like a comfortable room without having...

The people of Addis Ababa are fantastic but the infrastructure is just hanging on. By far the best feature of the Ras Amber, in my opinion, is the friendly and helpful staff and manager. I was always greeted with a smile and staff always offered me good advice. The hotel rooms are clean and functional, but very basic. I had...

Stayed here for about 10 nights on two separate occasions. Very friendly and helpful, especially when I was briefly ill. Rooms are clean with small ensuites and balconies. It has great views across Addis Ababa and lots of Kites and Buzzards soar past (I like watching birds). The hotel restaurant is fine, offering mainly european type dishes. The hotel hosts...

We stayed here 3 nights....3 nights too many. It's not the best hotel in Addis - you'll find a lot better, but the location isn't bad and is in walking distance of the few main points of interest. Rooms are very basic as is the hotel, and food isn't great. It was ok, but definitely not recommended.

If you want to stay somewhere nice, not overly fancy, but where the locals eat, drink and stay, stay at the Ras Amba. The rooms are small, as are the bathrooms, but the great staff, and all the local happenings make up for it. There were 6 weddings whilst were there (on 2 separate occasions) none of them disturbed us,...

This hotel, in the vicinity of Arrat Kilo in Addis Abeba, Ethiopia, has a wonderful roof terrace with functioning Wifi. The roof also houses a space for parties and Conferences and a comfortable Indoor bar. You can have meals on the terrace. The regular restaurant is one floor down. "Ferenji" (foreigner) fare is alright but there is little in the...

i stayed at Ras Amba hotel during a recent trip to Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. After spending the night at the hotel and waiting for over an hour for the water to get hot in the morning to take shower, I contacted the front desk staff for assistance. An employee in uniform showed up and told me to try again after...

I have lost count of the number of times I have stayed at this great little hotel! The place is a little distressed, but the friendlyness of the staff make up for that. They cannot do enough for me and my colleagues from Vision Aid Overseas.

My first time in Ethiopia so I have nothing to compare it to but this is a great little hotel with friendly staff. I will echo a few points about the general decor as it is shabby to say the least and the I wouldnt recommend eating there apart from breakfast as there are plenty of decent little cafes /...
