The lodge is put out as the last oasis before entering Khutse game park but is proofing to be the opposite. Rather book accommodation in the park and set up a 5 star camp. The lodge is not inviting and the staff not eager to help. The rooms are dusty and people did smoke in the rooms. The pool looks...

This was arranged by a friend in good faith through an agent she uses. Description looked ok, albeit expensive (Bwp 1800/night). It is not a LUXURY Lodge, far from it. We were the only ones there! Accommodation is clean but basic, no menu etc. There are only so many game drives you can do! When we arrived first impression was...

Do yourself a favour and find a way to camp in Khutse Game Reserve rather than staying at this lodge. Yes, the showers are hot (at the right times of day) and the beds are warm and comfortable, but the food is mediocre (e.g. t-bone and plain spaghetti for dinner) and the service is worse (e.g. not even so much...

No other guests (that should have been a sign). Green pool. Noisy generators (not one but two). No game drive licence (it had 'expired'). No menus. No credit cards. Poor service. We found a copy of Trivel Pursuit to entertainment us though only the cards - the board was damaged. All for the mere price of $200 CDN per person,...

We were very excited to spend our Easter holiday in Khutse. Our stay started out bad as when we arrived at the lodge no one was there to greet us or direct us where to check in. Basically the staff of the lodge never let us know what was going on, like what time dinner or breakfast were served. They...

After having heard about the bad sandy roads to Khutse Lodge, we were a bit apprehensive but in the end were pleasantly surprised. The road was done up in Dec 08 so now it is a gravel road which although sandy in patches, was not as bad as everyone had said! It is about 200 kms from Gaborone & it...

My wife and I travelled to Khutse not really having any great expectations, as we had been advised that the chances of seeing any wildlife were actually rather poor. However the owner, Trudy Kneale, made a very positive impression. She was born close to Khutse, at the southern extremity of the Kalahari desert and had spent years studying hotel management...
