Nestled along the river, A'Zambezi River Lodge offers guests breathtaking nature views and a peaceful atmosphere that many find relaxing, complete with cultural touches and a sense of safety. While some have highlighted the rooms as being compact and somewhat dated, the cleanliness of the lodge consistently receives commendations. The service at this riverside retreat is often described as friendly and professional, though there have been occasional hiccups with bookings.
Guests appreciate the efficient shuttle service but advise that the location is somewhat removed from the town center. Despite mixed reviews on value, due to additional costs and room issues, the overall experience is often praised, especially for those seeking proximity to nature.

Detailed Reviews
We booked 5 nights to visit the Falls at the Azambezi River Lodge. The Service, the location, the food and the entertainment was very good. The price for the wines with 35 USD was to high! We can recommend the Zambezi Lager Beer. Hippos coming onto the premises sometimes a night which is a special experience due to the location close to the river. Monkeys and Warthogs are also around. Very good attention from the Staff. Rooms were sprayed twice a day to avoid Mosquitos. Actually with enough repelent and every day sitting outside for Breakfast, Dinner or Lunch we can say that we didn#t get any bite during the 6 days which is quit exeptionally. We would recomment this place!!!

A'Zambezi is on the Zambezi River 10 min drive to Victoria falls the hotel is kept clean and tidy the staff were very friendly and helpful we stayed there 3 nights the food was good excellent views of the River and wild life, its quiet and peaceful. We booked through Forche Tours.
Fortune our tour operator from Forche Tours made our holiday arrangements smooth and well organised, communication with Fortune was very good he returned our calls and emails promptly everything was organised via emails and phone. Fortune made all our bookings for hotels excursions and transportation. When we arrived in Zimbabwe our vehicle was waiting to take us to the hotel Fortune made all the bookings for our party of 6 people our first evening we went to the Boma Restaurant to experience the local food and culture, the next day we went to Victoria Falls and had a Helicopter ride well worth doing, on the evening we went on the sunset dinner cruise on the river absolutely beautiful, other tours included Safaris in Botswana and enjoying the locals restaurants like The Look Out Restaurant in Zimbabwe was amazing. We crossed over the border to Zambia for the steam train experience if you want to do the train make sure to have the 5 course meal. Be prepared to pay for the visas when your in Africa Forche Tours made sure it went smoothly and the mini buses were waiting for us the other side of the border to continue the tours. Overall we had a fantastic holiday that was good value for money thanks to Fortune and his team.

The resort is a little piece of heaven on earth . Beautifully set along the river. You will often see warthogs grazing on the grounds , and if you're lucky enough you might get to see Sebastian, the resident hippopotamus and his family wondering around.
The staff are friendly and always eager to help in any way possible. They are professional and take great pride in providing superior customer service.
The rooms themselves are smaller than what some would expect , but they are clean and comfortable and also have balconies where you can enjoy the view. It's a great option if you don't plan to stay in your room all day , and who would want to with all that the resort and Victoria Falls has to offer.
The resort has a dedicated desk that assists with guided tours ,activities etc, so you can do all your planning right there and also add afew things to your itinerary. The resort also provides a free shuttle service to and from places like the town and Victoria Fall Rainforest. The location is great, as it is just afew minutes from most activities and attractions .
The resort has an outdoor dinning setting . Food at the restaurant was delicious , fresh and well prepared . On certain evenings there was live local entertainment , creating a lively environment which was most welcomed .
This resort is something special, especially if you appreciate nature and tranquility. I would highly recommend A'Zambezi and I would definitely stay here again .

The hotel is located on the banks of the Zambezi River. It is one of the furthest from the center of Victoria Falls, so in the afternoon if you want to go for a walk the only option is a taxi or your own car. From the hotel to the center or the entrance to the Victoria Falls park it is 10 minutes and the taxi charges about 15 dollars. The rooms all face the garden areas, they are very quiet and there is no noise. The beds are short. A person taller than 1.85 cm has their feet hanging off the bed. All the beds are the same, so me being 1.88m tall it wasn't too comfortable. The bathroom is large, the water pressure is very good. You have the option of requesting a mini refrigerator at no extra charge in the room. Breakfast if you don't have it included costs $30 for the buffet, which is quite an exaggerated price for a breakfast. The hotel offers lunch and dinner service. I have shown the menu so you can get an idea of what it offers. The hotel has a shuttle bus service to the city center and the entrance to Victoria Falls Park 4 times a day, the first at 9:15 am and the last at 4 pm. To return to the hotel the last service is a little before 5 pm
I thought about using the pool, but they close it at 6 pm because at that time there are animals that approach it. In any case, the pool was always dirty during my stay. There were all kinds of bugs and “things” floating around that didn't make it very pleasant to swim in. Perhaps due to the fact that some animals use it too. A shame. If I returned to Victoria Falls I would stay better in a hotel closer to the center, so I could walk there and walk around, since there is nothing in the hotel area. The time to leave the room is at 10 am, it is very early, generally in almost all hotels in the world it is at 12 noon. In my case they let me use a courtesy room until 11:30 am. From the hotel to the airport the taxi charges 30 dollars, but I got a taxi that charged me 20 that I met in the city and arranged for him to do the transfer service. From the airport to the hotel they charge per person: One person $30, two people $15. You can request the service from the hotel.

Excellent Service, I would recommend others to visit anytime. The River Lodge has a perfect view that overlooks the Zambezi River, has pristine rooms and a beautiful scenery of wildlife and birds alike. Perfect spot for Bush Parties after a Boat Cruise.

Stayed here for three nights after an exhausting tour of South Africa. Hugely impressed by the welcoming, friendly staff who could not do enough for us.
A beautifully appointed hotel in an ideal spot; spotlessly clean and wonderful, landscaped grounds. Room was superb, comfortable and everything worked!
Food and drink in great lakeside location with visiting monkeys, warthogs and not forgetting Sebastian the hippo! Very relaxing environment.
Generous hosts we would return without hesitation and can thoroughly recommend.

We loved the Zambezi Riverside location, and the immaculate gardens, where bushbuck and vervet monkeys sometimes strayed. It is about 4 km outside Victoria Falls but there is an excellent and frequent shuttle service provided. The food was good and the service always outstanding. My only criticism would be that the rooms (considering the ample space available) were a bit small. Otherwise I have nothing but praise for this hotel.

My partner and I enjoyed the setting of the hotel, with all rooms overlooking the well-kept garden and, of course, the wide and beautiful Zambezi. Food was freshly-cooked and the staff were courteous. The outside dining area is great.
I think that the rooms need more attention. They are a bit small, which one can do nothing about, but housekeeping should note things like a sagging mosquito net around the bed, one that would let in an army of mosquitoes as you sleep, and a bath plug that lets out all the water. Opening the sliding mosquito door that leads to the verandah of the room meant wrestling and tugging until the mosquito door finally gave way. or fell out of its frame. No graceful gliding into place here. Tea / Coffee and toilet paper were not replenished unless you asked.
The hotel is classed as 4 stars. I would give the setting 4 stars, but the rooms definitely need far more TLC to earn 4 stars.
