This place is a lovely delight! This camp is in the middle of the Serengeti with 6 rooms. There were not as many trucks as on other safaris I have been to, so I enjoyed the experience, nature, and seeing SOO many animals without other trucks around us. What made this place special besides the location was the people. It is a small camp so all the staff knows your name and will do anything to make sure you are having a great time!

The rooms were great and well-designed. At night you hear animals outside your room. There was a welcome amenity on the bed when we got there. The laundry was done daily and they have someone on staff for massages that comes to your room.

Traveling as much as I do, it is about a nice hotel room but it is also about the staff and how they make you feel. This place does amazing at making you feel cared for. Even the watchman that made sure animals wouldn't eat us on the way to the dining tent greeted us with a smile.

Harrison the GM went above and beyond to make sure our stay was special. John was our guide and he has been doing this for years, and it showed by his knowledge and precision.

When leaving... everyone came to say goodbye in the early morning with a big smile on their face, checking out the fun jumping photo.

We’re always so pleased when guests enjoy the wonderful settings of our camps, but even more so when they recognise the brilliance of our people. Thank you for noting the great work done by our handpicked staff at Roving Bushtops and how they made you ‘feel cared for’ throughout your visit. We promise that Harrison will stay special, John will remain knowledgeable and that our watchmen will continue to prevent animals from eating our valued visitors! You’ve left a smile on our faces too …

Beautifully designed mobile camp with top of the line service. The attention to detail in designing and constructing this camp amazed us, more so considering the fact that it's located in the more isolated southern Serengeti. The tents, the surroundings, the food, the service ... everything was top notch. We won't even start with the quality of the massage!

Even with the very challenging conditions, Philip, the camp manager, was there to make things smooth every step of the way. He was on top of things at all times, and made sure that we had a convoy escort on our drive back from Kusini to Ndutu in deplorable conditions when others were getting stuck daily.

The food was the best we had during our safari with exceptionally elegant breakfasts and a fantastic wine selection.

The game viewing was a nice balance of woodlands, river, and some of the migration. We were lucky enough to see a cheetah kill mere feet from our vehicle.

A highly recommended camp for those looking for something unique.

Roving Bushtops was the most adventurous and incredible lodge I’ve ever experienced in my life. It’s a portable luxury camp that follows the Great Migration around the year. It’s set up in the south Serengeti fall-spring for calving season, then relocates to central Seronera spring-fall as the migration moves north. We had amazing game drives followed by evening massages, hot tub, and sunset drinks. We watched a wildebeest get born and take first steps while still connected to its umbilical cord. There were thousands of wildebeests, zebras, elands, and gazelles migrating through the south. And we saw the resident lions, cheetahs, giraffes, elephants, hyenas, buffalos, and even a black rhino our last night. The food was delicious for us vegetarians, and somehow in the middle of the Serengeti we had fast WiFi in the tents. The lodge even arranged for us to get PCR Covid tests done in the Serengeti National Park before our departure. What I loved just as much as the animals and natural beauty of the Serengeti was spending so much quality time with the amazing staff: the general manager, tour guide, spotter, butler, server, masseuse, chef, and security escorts. They took excellent care of us and spoiled us more than we could ever imagine with happy anniversary and birthday celebrations. I couldn’t resist big goodbye hugs for these special people. I wish for us to come back someday and best of luck to Roving Bushtops!

Some people think reviews are barely noticed: I can assure you that not only are they read, they matter so much to all of us. So when we get such lovely feedback, it puts a massive smile on the face of each team member who had the privilege of looking after you. Bless you and thank you for taking the trouble to share your kind words and recognise staff who (we agree) are simply amazing. Your appreciation of the whole Bushtops experience is the most powerful endorsement we could ever expect. We won’t forget you and your generous review. DO come back again, soon! With very best wishes, Claudia Stuart

We’ve stayed at Roving Bushtops for 4 nights with my family after 5 amazing nights at Bushtops Serengeti. That was totally amazing to see how you can built so a luxury camp in the middle of the savanna. It has really been « our home away from home » for these few days and we wish these days could have lasted forever !

It was truly amazing and the most incredible travel of my life. That kind of travel in which you can remember every single moment ! And where the team tries to make you feel at home and as a member of the family. Everything there is awesome ! The animals, the landscapes, the whole team that is so so nice !

We would like to thank Philipp the manager, Godson our waiter, miss Esther the incredible masseuse, the chef for his incredible cooking, our butler ( sorry I don’t know how to write the name correctly), Maulid the security guy for his kindness, the other security who taught me all the animals in Swahili and all the other members that I will remember forever.

We would also like to warmly thank the 2 persons without whom our 9 days game drives and safari experience wouldn’t have been possible : Sadiki our top guide and driver who taught us so many things about the wildlife and was so patient responding all our questions and Charles our spotter (and I hope one day a new bushtops guide) who has spotted incredible animals in the Serengeti and was always happy to make us enjoy the Serengeti wildlife ! Both were so patient and so kind ! I wish them the best and thanks to them we bring a lot of magnificent wildlife pictures back home.

The only thing I can say is that the Seronera area is a little bit more crowded than the north part of serengeti but still very enjoyable !

After 9 wonderful days within the Bushtops camps ( Serengeti and roving) it is so so hard to say goodbye and leave this peaceful place …

We will remember you forever and we will miss you so ! I hope we will be able to come back !

Thank you for making our stay wonderful :) !

Having read your kind review of Serengeti Bushtops, we all felt a warm glow on reading your additional review here, highlighting Roving Bushtops alongside our sister camp in Tanzania. We quite agree: both are “truly amazing” places. We do all we can to make our camps just as special, so when you say “everything is awesome”, we know we’re delivering our promise of Wild Luxury – a perfect blend of nature and nurture. As you know, our goal is to help our guests Reconnect with what matters most – whether that be wildlife, loved ones, or our shared history. So when you say “we will remember you forever”, we know you have not just had a fantastic nine days with us: we’ve formed a personal, human connection. So now we’re already looking forward to your next visit - and a chance to reconnect!

I’ve stayed in plenty of 5 star hotels throughout the world, and paid similar rates for various hotels.
This is by far the best hotel(camp) I’ve seen.
The service is better than some Aman resorts or Bulgari resorts.
The staff are all incredibly kind, intelligent and are at the bar of which all staff need to strive for.
Phillip, the general manager, was always around or within a minute appeared. Ally at the restaurant, remembers all of our wishes and wants. The massages were awesome.

Game drives - top! We had John and Saidi take us, got to see everything we wanted!

If you are looking for a luxury camp in Serengeti - this is really it !!!

The first thought my husband and I had as we pulled into the Roving Bushtops camp in the Central Serengeti was “WOW!” and that sentiment only intensified throughout our incredible four night stay. We experienced animal sightings that seemed straight out of a Planet Earth episode, had romantic bush dinners and breakfasts, fell asleep to the sound of whooping hyenas, saw sunrises more beautiful than I could have ever imagined (accompanied by champagne one morning!), and met some of the kindest and most welcoming people ever.

Peter and Amos, our expert guide and tracker, planned each day’s game drive carefully to try and show us a variety of different animals and birds. They knew that I was very interested in cats and in four days we saw over 50! On one of the days, we drove South to see if we could spot the Marsh lion pride. Spot them we did, with the matriarch teaching no less than ten cubs how to consume a buffalo. Watching the small cubs mew at one another while they ate (they thought they were snarling) was something I will never forget, along with the amazing knowledge on lion behavior that Peter taught us. Before we left the pride, we even saw a stand-off between the buffalo herd and the lions. Learning about these fascinating animals from Peter was one of the highlights of our trip.

We would end every afternoon on the deck of our spacious and stylish tent, looking out over the Serengeti plains, sipping a G&T and Pimm’s cocktail while recounting our incredible day. After that, we would enjoy time around the campfire, talking with our guide Peter and the camp manager, Elias, who seamlessly managed all aspects of our stay, including surprising us with a beautiful bush dinner one evening, What a wonderful memory - lanterns strung around an acacia tree, stars above us, white linen table setting, fine wine, and Michelin star level food from Chef Christopher, all perfectly orchestrated by Godson and Elias.

While the animals, the tent, and the food were out of this world, what really made Roving Bushtops so incredibly special was the people. We will never forget the kindness and warmth that Elias, Godson, Esther, Peter, Amos, Sabino, Marwa, and others showed us. I feel like they opened their home and hearts to us and we’ll never forget it. I’ve spent most of my work career traveling globally and stayed at numerous high-end hotels and lodges and none come even slightly close to the feeling and experience that Bushtops creates for its guests. We are already planning a return trip in a couple of years!

Well, what can we say, other than a heartfelt “Thank You”! We’re so glad we gave you such Wow moments – and now you’ve returned the compliment with a Wow review. It really makes our hearts sing when we meet such positive people as the two of you – and Peter and Amos will be very touched by your kind words. Thank you also for remembering Christopher, Elias, Godson, Sabino and Marwa by name: it shows your consideration and makes each feel personally honoured by your appreciation. Your comment about our people being the main reason for an “out of this world” experience reflects how we feel too: yes, the flora and fauna are extraordinary, but they exist beyond our influence. We can, however, create a place where kind, thoughtful people do lovely things in a beautiful environment. When we succeed – and receive such generous feedback – everything is worthwhile. We were especially touched and impressed by your comment about no other place coming close to Bushtops for the feeling and experience we create for our guests. That truly is a Wow accolade! With your permission, we’d love to use the comment on our website – since it sums up everything we try to do, but carries the authority of a discerning world traveller (rather than being a self-serving claim, made by ourselves!). We promise to keep to the high standards you encountered, ready for a reunion in that promised year or two. In the meantime, bless you both and see you soon!

My mother and I just spent 3 nights at Roving Bush Tops for the great migration of wildebeest and zebra. It was truly amazing! The staff is so friendly, warm, welcoming, sincere and very professional. The manager is excellent and takes safety very serious as we were always escorted, day and night walking to and from our tent and the main tent. Also, the tent design is so impressive. The beds were the most comfortable of all of the tents/lodges we have stayed in on this trip! And the shower was so hot with so much pressure if one is concerned about shower quality. Of course, the nights were filled with sounds of nature but we slept just fine. The game drives were spectacular- the guide and spotter were fantastic. The waiter, chef, butler, guards and staff were all exceptional too! Highly recommend this mobile camp to experience the wildebeest!

As we pack up to move Roving Bushtops from the Southern to Central Serengeti, every single one of the team will be thrilled to read your review. It really does make all the work we do worthwhile, establishing and running our roving camp to delight visitors. Clearly we achieved our goal in your case. Thank you so much for taking the time and trouble to tell others what the Bushtops experience is like. The words you use – such as ‘warm’, ‘welcoming’, ‘professional’, ‘excellent’, ‘spectacular’, ‘fantastic’ and ‘exceptional’ - are hard won badges that we wear with pride. It was also so good to hear that you found the tent and bed so comfortable. As you can imagine, designing such luxury into a moveable format was a real challenge: we mark success through feedback such as yours. We remain grateful for your ‘top notch’ review and very much hope to see you and your mother again in future!

My husband and I visited Africa for the first time this past June. We spent 3 of our vacation nights at the Bushtops Roving camp and could not have been more impressed! It was magical! Upon arrival we were picked up by our guide, Imani, and our game spotter/tracker, Amos. They greeted us at the airstrip with big warm smiles and a table full of refreshments and snacks. We spent the next days driving with them for hours tracking and seeing such beautiful animals and scenery. They were both very kind, professional and so knowledgeable. It was a joy to spend time with them and learn from them. Also, Imani always happily stopped for me so I could take yet another photo of the many gorgeous trees which I could not get enough of!
While at the camp we were also always greeted with welcoming smiles from everyone. I can’t say enough great things about Harrison, Bariki, Faz and everyone at this Bushtops camp! They all seemed truly dedicated to making our stay the best it could possible be.
The combination of the stunning landscape, all the animals we saw, the beautiful African trees, delicious food, the stellar staff and the very unique and beautiful tents made this part of our trip one we will never forget! We are already dreaming of returning!

A few years ago we looked through our reviews to see which words stood out the most: among the top answers were ‘magical’, ‘welcoming’, ‘stunning’ and ‘beautiful’, so you are in excellent company! That said, we know that – for you and indeed most of our guests – a stay at Bushtops represents a first-ever safari and that such fulsome reviews can never be taken for granted. That makes it doubly wonderful when we read comments like yours, appreciating the brilliance of Imani and Amos and the care of Harrison, Bariki, Faz and their colleagues. Your last paragraph beautifully sums up what we attempt to deliver – and we’re so happy we succeeded for you both. Enjoy your dreams about returning – until you make them a reality. PS The other common word in past reviews was ‘amazing’: we promise to aspire to this on your next trip!

Thank you so much Joel! It’s amazing how many of our guests use the word ‘incredible’ to describe their time at Bushtops. As you discovered, it can be hard to believe what you see and experience first-hand, whether it’s from herds of animals seen up close to extraordinary big cats relaxing or hunting in their natural habitat. We always aim to match this wildness with pure luxurious relaxation, creating the ideal backdrop to daily adventures. We’re so pleased it all worked as planned during your stay. Providing service ‘beyond anything we could have imagined’ is such a warm accolade: the whole team is thrilled by your review – especially Timon and Joseph. Do come again – either to meet us again at Roving Bushtops, or to see if we can match the experience at Serengeti Bushtops or Mara Bushtops. Either way, you will be welcomed with open arms!

We had a wonderful time. Harrison and staff were very attentive and welcoming. The meals, including while on safari, were excellent. Our guides Timan and Joseph had a knack for finding, tracking and educating us on the abundant wildlife. Our accommodations were terrific with all our needs being met in an efficient and timely manner. I would go back in a heartbeat.

What a generous review! Please, change that word ‘would’ to ‘will’ when it comes to coming back. We get such a kick from what we do, but just as much from sharing it with appreciative, lovely guests like you. You mention staff, meals, guides and accommodation in the review, neatly summing up some of the major the factors which make for a great safari.
