We ended our 9 day Safari in the northern Serengeti staying two nights at Sayari. It was the perfect way to finish our adventure, the cherry on top if you will. Sayari is true luxury in the Serengeti. The staff are amazing and catered to our every need. I traveled with my husband and our three daughters age 25, 23 and 15. Charles and George made sure we felt safe and cared for during our stay. The grounds are so beautiful. The pool overlooks the Serengeti, and we could see and view animals while sitting on our porch or while enjoying the outdoor shower. The food was exceptional and pleasing to both the eye and mouth. I only wish that we couldve stayed longer. Thank you to all staff at Sayari for making us feel warm, welcomed and at home.

For our last few nights we wanted a comfortable stay and to see the wilderbeest migration. Sayari was the perfect fit.

We were fortunate to be paired with Daudi as our driver. He's got a lot of experience and was able to find four crossings in three days! Wow, most people are lucky if they even see one. You could tell Daudi was really good because we were usually one of the first vehicles to get to the crossing. The rule is you want to be early to get good visibility and Daudi never let us down. He was also a pleasant and knowledgeable host who made the long hours waiting for a crossing enjoyable. I love that he also seemed as excited as we were to watch one.

The camp itself is simply amazing. Well designed 'tents' that felt more like a cottage compete with running water, bathtub, shower and outdoor showers and a great location to watch the animals passing by each morning. The internet is available but only in the rooms because they want you to socialize in the main areas.

The food was great and fitting for a high end establishment. They also have a micro brewery on site that was pretty good. The staff were also very helpful and friendly. We even had lunch brought out to us one day because we had been out all day waiting for a crossing. That's great service! We'd also like to thank the wilderbeest for crossing over just before the food arrived so we could relax and enjoy the food and have a toast.

Finally, Sayari uses the open air range rovers for their vehicles which give you a great view of everything when out on a drive.

Overall, it was a great stay!

We've had numerous safari experiences over the years in East Africa including a previous trip to the Serengeti but this one ranks as number 1 without a doubt. What sets Sayari apart is the outstanding staff and superb facilities. Staff are professional, incredibly friendly and nothing is too much trouble. The attention to detail (hot water bottles await you on the safari vehicle as you head out for the morning game drive!) is second to none.
The camp is beautifully situated amongst rocky outcrops, it is all tented with communal areas connected with wooden walkways. Tent 'bedrooms' are spacious and luxurious with the option of an indoor or outdoor shower as well as a bath, all looking out on passing animals.
Our encounters with wildlife under the expert guidance of Daniel were incomparable...wildebeest crossing, leopards mating, lion cubs playing and a very photogenic, amenable cheetah were just a few of the highlights! Daniel seemed to enjoy each sighting as much as we did, he was patient, extremely knowledgeable and great company.
The camp is a short distance from Kogatende airstrip and is an excellent location for the Mara river. Each drive took us to a different vista; plains, rivers, wooded areas and rocky outcrops.
We highly recommend Sayari camp for those looking for a very special and unforgettable safari experience.

Sayari is an upscale permanent tented camp near the Mara River. As such it makes a great base from which to experience the crossing and explore the Northern Serengeti. Part of the Asilia Group, as is Dunia in Central Serengeti, Sayari is more luxurious with larger rooms and more sophisticated grounds. It also is a larger facility with 15 tents for guests to Dunia’s 8.
The grounds include 2 dining areas, a classy open air lounge area decorated in African chic, a bar with outdoor seating, a pool and lounge area and a spa.
The spacious rooms have twin beds that can be pushed together to make a king - bedding is lush and comfortable - a desk, a storage area and coffee and tea service. There is wifi in the rooms and plenty of outlets for charging electronics. A free laundry service is also available.
The luxurious bathroom includes a bathtub and a giant indoor shower as well as an outdoor shower.
Like Dunia the food is well prepared, both in dining service and picnic breakfasts. All drinks are included.
Service is friendly and generally efficient. They make a great effort to accommodate guests’ requests.
As with other camps in the park you are not allowed to walk alone to and from your tent after dark. In Sayari’s case they have a golf cart that ferries guests back and forth, but they will walk with if you prefer.
If you want to do safari but still want to enjoy finer accommodations Sayari is a good choice.

This truly luxury "camp" is like entering another world. After a short drive from the airstrip you enter into this beautiful oasis that meets all your needs! The tents are more expansive than many homes and meet every luxurious whim. The entire camp is spotless and staff are professional, attentive and anticipate needs while somehow being as friendly and warm as true friends welcoming you to their home.
The food is spectacular, the pool, massage area and brewery are unexpected in the bush and wonderful and then there is the park. The location near the Mara river and the animals moving through during the migration are breathtaking. You can't go 20 yards without finding another animal sighting. So many predators to see and guides who truly love what they do and sharing their knowledge with you without being imposing. Daudi taught us so much and has eagle eyes for finding predators while driving! His passion for the animals made us smile at every sighting, which was constantly! The manager Goodfriend was like family visiting at the bonfire and making certain he knew all your experiences and needs and going above and beyond to offer you more. If you can travel as far as the Serengeti to see the largest animal migration on the continent you should make certain to make it to Sayari for lifetime memories.

Where to begin… from the moment we entered Sayari camp it felt like home. As we arrived we were greeted in song and even told “welcome home”. You will not regret going here.. it is a once in a lifetime experience!

First off the staff is amazing. Eli the manager made sure every part of our stay was wonderfull. Swedy always had a smile on his face when greeting us and made the best cosmopolitan and mojito in the bush. Our guide Baraka was the sweetest. He always made sure we were comfortable and adjusted the game drives to our needs and desires. His knowledge of the wildlife and nature around us astonished us at times. He was extremely informative and entertaining and even tried to make the impossible possible. He would ask us what we wanted to see and went on the hunt to find those animals. Every day we saw an amazing variety of wildlife. Baraka made it possible for us to see 4 of the big 5 African Animals. A breathtaking experience.

The camp was beautiful and luxurious. Everything you could want. Especially the small touches made it feel like home. Handwritten notes, warm coffee or tea during our wake up call, evening drinks in the bush and if the weather permitted a fire outside the camp for us to relax at.

The food was another highlight. The chef is super! Every meal was a treat. All of it was healthy and fresh with enough choices. The dinners were for sure a highlight of our trip. The lounge area is wifi free and during dinner all guests are seated together at a communal table. Also the staff and guides will eat alongside the guests. It was so great to get to know more about not only the other guests but the staff and guides. We really felt like we learned about Tanzanian culture firsthand.

We stayed during New Years Eve and the whole team made the night special for us. We had a great dinner that ended with all the staff and guests singing Swahili songs together and dancing.

The staff asked as us to fill in a comment card at the end of the stay and everything for us was a 10. From food to accommodation to wildlife to staff to guides. Sayari is a 10!

What an unforgettable experience! You will not regret booking a trip to Sayari, you will regret it if you don’t!

Asilia Sayari Camp is a safari lodge close to the Mara river crossing points. If you have come all this way over dusty and bumpy Serengeti roads for an early morning safari, you might as well enjoy a bit of luxury the night before. You sleep in a solid wooden construction with some large glass doors, although from the outside it looks like a tent. The windows can stay open all night because they are netted, which enables you to try to distinguish the birds and all the ‘scary’ sounds of the savannah at night. The enormous bed fits even the tall Dutch – I am one. Be aware of something furry under the sheets. Some safari camps stash a hot-water bottle in for the cold nights, but forget to tell you it is wrapped in something hairy. There is plenty room to install your suitcase, or unpack and use the closets. A bit over the top for a bloke is a bathtub and two separate showers (one outside), but I didn’t hear the wife complain… One remark about the plumbing: it took more time for the heated water to reach the sprinkler compared to another Asilia lodge. Was it the rain, the generator battery that was replaced or the safety switch that was not reset? Something that may need some attention.
Maybe the best signature of the Asilia camps is the indigenous welcoming smile and the hospitality mindedness of the staff. O and did I mention the food? Both dinner, breakfast (and the picknick basket during the safari) were an excellent composition of flavours. I enjoyed the ‘Swahili night’. Don’t leave Tanzania without trying maharagi, katchumbari, pilao and - for the brave – ugali.

Plus: camp fire; spacious ‘living room’; attentive driver (if you booked one with Asilia, we had Elisa); pick up from and delivery to tent by electric cart on demand or escort by a night guard; accessories if you need to feel more safe: torch, walki-talki, alarm horn.
Did not check out the pool (too late) and the shop (closed at that hour).
Our safari route: 7 nights, flying in from Kilimanjaro, Ngorongo crater (2), Serengeti (Asilia Namiri Plains (1), Asilia Sayari Camp(2)), Lake Natron (2).

My husband and I loved everything about our stay at Sayari. From the moment we got picked up at the airstrip by our guide Kazawadi and were offered microbrew from the camp to the moment we got dropped back off, we felt the warm, super attentive care of the entire Sayari team to make sure we had the best time of our lives. We loved how we were provided the best service and luxury experience but at the same time it never felt pretentious or forced - you can tell the staff genuinely loved their job and wholeheartedly and proudly wanted to share the beautiful Serengeti with us like we were family.

Our guide Kazawadi took amazing care of us and we loved her sunny disposition. She was also incredibly skilled at spotting wildlife and maneuvering the Land Cruiser in challenging terrain. Thanks to her sharp eye and expertise, we saw more wildlife than we ever imagined, including two very exciting crossings! And We had such a blast!

The food and cocktails were another delightful highlight. We were so pleasantly surprised by their fresh, gorgeous, locally grown veggies and overall the flavors and presentation of every meal was delectable. Jackson, the bartender made the best cocktails and even made me a special creation when I wasn't feeling my best. His aperitif cocktail picked me right up to enjoy the rest of the evening!

The manager Ross was wonderful and gave us really good recommendations for our next leg to Zanzibar. One of the best surprises of our stay was when the team sang and danced after dinner rounding out with a birthday serenade and entire birthday cake for me! I love every minute and will never forget that lovely experience.

Overall, our experience was beyond expectation. From housekeeping, who put hot water bottles in the foot of our bed during turn down, to the servers during mealtime, and even how well and quickly the laundry was done, Sayari team knocked it out of the park on their attention to detail, warm and attentive service. We felt so pampered while enjoying exciting safari adventures. We hope to be back soon!

Wow what a great way to be received in a camp: singing/dancing staff welcoming you when arriving at Sayari Camp.
At first we were already warmly welcomed at the Kogatende airstrip, had a lovely journey to the camp, seeing already quite some wildlife: zebras, wildbeast, impalas, lilac breast roller etc. The staff took care of all our lugage, no need to carry..

In the diner we were introduced to Elly, our manager and the rest of the staff. Plus a short update of what the planning was during our stay.
In the morning and at 4pm there is a game drive, around 2pm we were served a lovely buffet lunch (even for vegetarians lots of choice). And in the evening a three course meal. The kids enjoyed the swimming pool a lot!
The cocktail bar from Swedy was well visited as well.
Where do you encounter staff who remembers your name, put a warm water bottle in your bed, closes the curtains & musquito nets down at night, and is very service oriented towards every gesture?
The knowledge of the guides in the game drives is extraordinary, as well as entertaining: we had 8 kids age 10 to 16, they gathered together in a jeep and were singing songs with Festo!
All in all we had a great time and I’m grateful for the fact that Asilia is providing so much local support as well as ensuring that the wild animal population increases/steadies by getting the poachers on their side: let the animal live and make a living by tourism!

Sayari Camp is located in a wonderful natural context, full of wildlife and very close to the wildebeests crossing sites. The room was beautiful, with an amazing view on the surrounding bushland, and furnished with everything we needed: plugs to charge our equipment, hairdryer, minibar, two big showers (one outside and one inside the room) and an amazing bathtub. We also had always enough drinkable water available in the room, soap to wash our underwear, natural shampoo and hair conditioner.
Room service was great, all always kept clean and tidy.
Food was perfect, with very high quality of the products. We also loved the healthy packed lunches, with washable spoons, forks and boxes, with no plastic waste at all.
All the staff showed very sensitive and curious about our research project on secretarybird, making us a lot of questions about the species and what everyone can do to protect it. We really appreciated to talk about our work in Serengeti with them.
Asilia is paying great attention to the conservation of endangered species in the Serengeti ecosystem. Well done!
