Sayari Mara Camp was our third Asilia camp during our Tanzania Safari. Asilia constantly offers a good overall experience with a nice accomodation, nice lodge, good food and excellent guiding with a certain level of comfort. F. e. in any of the Asilia camps hot-water-bottles are provided in the vehicle for the morning game drives......
Our operator has included the stay at Sayari Mara Camp after going to the migration taking place in the south of Serengeti in Jan. As we strived for having some nice safari experiences far away from the crowds this spot was included..... though the main season for this location is clearly when the migration is there BUT it´s also worth to give a visit in the side season..... the experience is much more quiet and private - in the camp and also when being out for the game drives.....
The scenery of the nature is awesome in the green season! Regarding the landscape in this season, this part of Tanzania was the nicest in our opinion..... though it also means that the game is much harder to spot than in the dry season. It was really challenging..... but it was worth it! We have seen a lot of highlights here: - plenty of hippos - a pride of lions eating a zebra - buffalos - lots of zebras, Thomson gazelles - serval cat (very rare to see)
Spending some time next to the famous Mara river was also a highlight of this location.....
The camp itself is clean, comfortable, the staff is efficient and very friendly. Especially our waitress Emi was so kind.
Once we have come back from a game drive the team had set up a small mobile bar in the bush so we could enjoy the sunset. This is what Asilia plays very well - delivering nice moments to their guests - very nice surprises.....
Side note: This camp definitely sets up the best / biggest camp fire every night from all of the camps we have been to. Great experience on every evening.....

We ended our 9 day Safari in the northern Serengeti staying two nights at Sayari. It was the perfect way to finish our adventure, the cherry on top if you will. Sayari is true luxury in the Serengeti. The staff are amazing and catered to our every need. I traveled with my husband and our three daughters age 25, 23 and 15. Charles and George made sure we felt safe and cared for during our stay. The grounds are so beautiful. The pool overlooks the Serengeti, and we could see and view animals while sitting on our porch or while enjoying the outdoor shower. The food was exceptional and pleasing to both the eye and mouth. I only wish that we couldve stayed longer. Thank you to all staff at Sayari for making us feel warm, welcomed and at home.

The experience with the staff and our driver was amazing. They paid attention to e dry detail and after a long day of Safari drives they were always there to greet us with a cold, fresh beverage and moist towel to refresh with.
Frank, the manager, was amazing, sweet and very helpful.
Joseph, who served us every meal was knowledgeable and very attentive to our needs.
Erick made sure our room was clean and drive us safely back and forth to the dining area.
Felix, our Safari drive was AMAZING! He was so knowledgeable and fun. He made our experience amazing to see multiple migrations with 1000’s of animals and many hyena, lion, leopard, giraffe sittings along the way.

Loved this camp! Asilia does an amazing job balancing luxury with an authentic African safari experience (or what a westerner would expect from an "authentic" African safari experience!). This location had permanent structures, but the "tent" still felt like you were getting a safari experience. There is too much to say, but here are some highlights: - Food is FANTASTIC! The Chef is on par with top restaurants in SF/NY, etc. - Service is out of this world. If you pack breakfast or lunch, you get individual food boxes that have 3 courses, and one time they even delivered lunch to us when we were waiting for the crossing - Bathroom had indoor & outdoor showers, 24/7 hot water plumbing, and beautiful bath tub w/ salts - Our guide (Octavian) is literally the best guide ever. He drove confidently and competently, is an enthusiastic photographer himself so is constantly giving us tips on wildlife photography, and is so well connected with everyone (in person & on walkie talkie) he perfected wildlife spotting. - He astutely observed the wildebeests and navigated us to the best location to wait/watch not just one, but 2 crossings.
If I return to Africa, I would only book Asilia for all my locations.

Staying at sayari lodge was truly incredible and a trip that was so inspirational, I will never forget it. We were met at the airstrip by our wonderful guide Baraka. His knowledge and passion for wildlife was truly incredible. He could spot a twitching ear from behind a rock many meters away. He knew the smallest details of every animal we came across and made our drives fun and exciting. He made big efforts for us to find the leopard that he knew I desperately wanted to see. The rest of the staff were equally amazing, all so friendly and helpful in every way. To mention but a few, Johnson our butler with his genuine attention to detail, Samson and sabato the chefs who made the most delicious food, catering to our dietary needs. My daughter is gluten free and they tailor made food that was just as delicious as what was prepared for the rest of us. Erik and layah the housekeepers who delivered our morning coffee to our room and Maurice who safely drove us around the camp with his funny stories. The team were like a big family, headed up by Doris who was super friendly and efficient, keeping the whole place ticking along impeccably. It was also important for me to travel sustainably. With Asilia you could feel and see their positive impact on the national parks and their communities by chatting to the staff. They are combining travel and tourism with sustainability by employing local people, conducting vital research, retraining poachers as guides, empowering women, and working with local communities. They have 4 day camps for school children to educate them about the importance of looking after the environment. It was wonderful to hear about the work that they are doing and how the staff are progressing through their training. All in all, I can not recommend sayari camp and the asilia group more highly. Our time there was simply awesome.

Sayari Camp is located in a wonderful natural context, full of wildlife and very close to the wildebeests crossing sites. The room was beautiful, with an amazing view on the surrounding bushland, and furnished with everything we needed: plugs to charge our equipment, hairdryer, minibar, two big showers (one outside and one inside the room) and an amazing bathtub. We also had always enough drinkable water available in the room, soap to wash our underwear, natural shampoo and hair conditioner. Room service was great, all always kept clean and tidy. Food was perfect, with very high quality of the products. We also loved the healthy packed lunches, with washable spoons, forks and boxes, with no plastic waste at all. All the staff showed very sensitive and curious about our research project on secretarybird, making us a lot of questions about the species and what everyone can do to protect it. We really appreciated to talk about our work in Serengeti with them. Asilia is paying great attention to the conservation of endangered species in the Serengeti ecosystem. Well done!

This was my second time at Sayari after more than 10 years and it not disappoint. Manager and staff were attentive and caters to guests’ needs. Amazing safari with our guide who made the trip so memorable - saw 3 leopards including a mother with her cub, lioness with cubs, serval cat, hippos, crocodiles and other grazing animals even pass the migration season. There were giraffes and other grazing animals easily seen at the campsite. The room is big and a true luxury in the wilderness. There are both indoor and outdoor showers, a bathtub with a view, a roomy separate toilet area. True glamping!! Food was delicious and felt like you were dining at a restaurant every day. Staff were friendly and attentive. They tried their best to help with all your needs.

On the recommendation of our travel advisor, we stayed in the two-bedroom villa at Sayari Camp. This far exceeded our expectations. We had a private "butler" and chef as well as access to a private pool (shared with another villa). This was more expensive than we had planned but it was a great way to end our two-week time in Tanzania.
Having candles lit, lights on in our rooms and drinks ready to be served upon return from our afternoon safari drive was amazing. All of the staff were beyond accommodating, personable and friendly. We thoroughly appreciated the anticipation of all of our needs.
Our guide, JC, was knowledgeable and friendly with a good sense of humor. We found all of our guides to be similar. Being greeted by staff upon arrival and each time we left or returned to camp is an Asilia tradition, one which we greatly appreciated.
We thoroughly recommend Sayari Camp.

There’s so many positive things to say, from the stunning views of the location of Sayari camp in the Serengeti, to the extremely beautiful and luxurious tents (and camp amenities), to the genuine warmth and personal hospitality of the staff. We had the most incredible trip staying at Sayari Asilia and intend to come back without question. Our tour/game drive guides, Charles and Irene, were incredibly sharp and knowledgeable about everything from spotting the animals explaining everything there is to know about them, to sharing insight on the nature around, to absolutely anything we asked. They were so skilled and thorough in their knowledge and just really funny and fun people to be around. We fell in love with the camp and the Serengeti as a whole just as much as we fell in love with the people. Baraka, the general manager, radiates a kind and inviting personality, he is authentically himself and creates the most comfortable and warm environment. You can see that everything just works. Ulu Gurmani (or Frank), was our butler and he was just the best. He spoiled us with the most delicious food, he was so fun to talk to and share stories with. Frederik, was so sweet and excited to surprise us with beautiful bath arrangements or other room surprises (in the theme of our honey moon) Honestly it seems that everyone who works at Sayari are passionate about what they are doing, they are intelligent, honest, kind, good hearted, lively, positive energy and lovey people. Our experience was really a gem in our trip and we highly recommend Sayari Asilia!!

Sayari is an upscale permanent tented camp near the Mara River. As such it makes a great base from which to experience the crossing and explore the Northern Serengeti. Part of the Asilia Group, as is Dunia in Central Serengeti, Sayari is more luxurious with larger rooms and more sophisticated grounds. It also is a larger facility with 15 tents for guests to Dunia’s 8. The grounds include 2 dining areas, a classy open air lounge area decorated in African chic, a bar with outdoor seating, a pool and lounge area and a spa. The spacious rooms have twin beds that can be pushed together to make a king - bedding is lush and comfortable - a desk, a storage area and coffee and tea service. There is wifi in the rooms and plenty of outlets for charging electronics. A free laundry service is also available. The luxurious bathroom includes a bathtub and a giant indoor shower as well as an outdoor shower. Like Dunia the food is well prepared, both in dining service and picnic breakfasts. All drinks are included. Service is friendly and generally efficient. They make a great effort to accommodate guests’ requests. As with other camps in the park you are not allowed to walk alone to and from your tent after dark. In Sayari’s case they have a golf cart that ferries guests back and forth, but they will walk with if you prefer. If you want to do safari but still want to enjoy finer accommodations Sayari is a good choice.

Forgot to add that Asilia will let you know about availability. A travel agent is highly recommended and it’s likely Asilia could recommend one in your area that they’ve dealt with before.
Hello Yatri, we can certainly accommodate your family however we do not have family rooms at Sayari. You would need to stay in two separate rooms. Please do let me know if you would like me to help you with a booking?
