We spent 11 amazing days with Mark Thornton’s Safari. We had spent 6 nights split between Arusa and Serengeti national parks on a walking safari. Covering from 6 – 10 miles a day on foot provided the most intimate connection with the land and animals. As Mark says on his web page "it's not what you see, but how you...

This was our first safari and as we used Mark Thornton Safaris, Kampi Kampi was booked for us. Over 12 nights, we stayed in all manor of accomodations from a luxurious permanent lodge, to tents in the wilderness. Our three nights at Kampi Kampi were our favourite. The accomodations were very comfortable and the food was absolutely delicious, however it...

It is difficult for me to understand how the other reviewers could rate this experience as highly as they have and how our travel guide could not have known that this camp is in serious need of renovations, fresh management and a new chef. Yes it is in a great location but there are other camps in that area (highly...

We stayed at Kampi Kampi for 3 nights at the end of a 2-week safari trip with Mark Thornton Safaris during which we visited Ruaha N.P., Tarangire N.P. and Serengeti N.P. (side note: we highly recommend Thornton Safaris). Kampi Kampi is a great seasonal camp with an amazing location, excellent service (can't say enough good things about the staff) and...

I can't say enough wonderful things about this camp and overall trip. Zoltan, George, Edson, Justin, Saleem, Vincent, Ramadam, Ombeni, Abasi, Charles, Msemo, Elsante, Chacha, Mayunga & Frank all went out of their way to make us feel welcome, comfortable and safe in the wilderness. We were two ladies traveling alone to the Serengeti and they treated us like royalty....

Kampi Kampi provides the best of the Serengeti safari experience. It's location ensures you will avoid the land rover fray that occurs at wildlife sightings, including the migration, the atmosphere is just the right blend of luxury and authentic and, most importantly, the service and hospitality provided by the staff is perfectly executed.

This is a magical place. Remotely settled in the north of the Serengeti park. We were booked into this camp as part of our Safari with Thornton Safaris. The tents were extremely comfortable, the staff incredible. Food delicious. We loved every minute. We have thousands of Wildebeest surrounding our camp which was magical.

Kampi Kampi is in the most beautiful spot of the Serengeti! My first trip to Africa and on a safari was made extra special by staying at Kampi Kampi. From the tents, comfy beds, and showers to the gracious staff who fed us and helped at every turn, to the amazingly knowledgeable and exciting game drives morning and night. I...

We were 3 couples of friends and we spent 2 nights in this incredible place. Incredible spot, professional staff, excellent manager. The camp provides just 6 beautiful tents which are...
