We had a great stay here and really enjoyed our accommodations and the food. To be honest, I didn't know what to expect from the tent cabins, but they were incredibly spacious and had little amenities like a clothes rack and desk with mirror. Each tent included a sink, separate toilet room with zipper door, and a separate shower area with zipper door. I had never stayed at a place with the bucket shower but we had no issue at all. The staff brought over the hot water quickly and it made me realize that you don't actually need much water to shower. During dinner the staff come by and spray your room with bug spray but make sure that you still close the zippered doors all the way. The food here was wonderful and dinner started with a delicious soup and then we had many different choices (vegetarian and non-vegetarian) for dinner, followed by dessert. The breakfast was also very tasty and they made these thin crepes with cardamom that we absolutely loved. Wildebeests were grazing only about 100 feet from our tent and it was great feeling like you were dropped into the Serengeti. I would recommend ear plugs to help get a good nights rest for the early morning safari wake up.

Located in central Serengeti, this little spot seemed like (and was) in the middle of nowhere. Simple basic tents with a 'shower' and toilet. Wow, what luxury given you are in the middle of nowhere. The shower has to be pre-arranged. The shower man brings a bucket, 10L, of warm water and once that's gone you can get more but you might be waiting a while. And it will cost extra. 10L is heaps for a hair and body wash if you're organised ;-)

You must be escorted everywhere after dark, that is basically to/from the mess tent to your own tent. Hyenas and lions really close at night, practically sniffing outside. It's amazing lying in bed listening to all the animal calls.

The set up and what is provided for guests at this camp is amazing. Fabulous hospitality, great food considering where you are, and you can even charge you devices though you might have to join the queue. Highly recommend taking a battery pack so you aren't reliant on this though.

Tsetse flies welcome you on arrival! Definitely recommend this as a place for stay, you really do feel like you are in amongst it yet you are as safe a houses. It's basic but it's glamping at it's best.

So loved my stay here right in the heart of the Serengeti National Park. Where else can you go where you sleep at night knowing there is a hyena outside your tent, and in our case also a lion! Don’t worry, you are safe. The animals know there are easier meals to be had than you. And, anyway, you will have a Masai tribesman patrolling outside. In the morning the staff, guides and all the guests will join in the fun discussing the noises you heard.

The camp moves every 3 months in order to protect the environment. Where we stayed, we had great views over Lake Ndutu (hippos, flamingoes, giraffes, hyenas). Wildlife is all around.

The staff are excellent. The food is nutritious - don’t forget it has to come from a long way away. And the showers are fun as a Local Gentleman pours a bucket of warm water into a bucket outside your tent.

All in all, this experience should be part of everyone’s safari in Tanzania. Highly recommended.

Love this camp which is not very big. The size of the tent was spacious for a solo traveler and there are many charging ports at the dinning area. It is safe to leave your items charging overnight. Hot water for shower is available. However, will need to inform the staff beforehand the rough timing which you will be taking a shower and they will come and fill up the hot water (tank is located at the back of the tent). They are very punctual and efficient in this aspect. Food was delicious and they provide packed lunch for game drives as well.

Had a great experience listening to the hyenas while falling asleep. This is as close as you can get sleeping in the wild and yet still remaining safe in the comfort of your tent.

This stay is a must! My husband and I stayed here when on safari and absolutely loved it. The tents are spacious equipped with your own toilet and shower (hot water provided) and the food is absolutely delicious and plenty of it. We enjoyed sitting out the front of our tent over looking the Serengeti - absolute tranquility! If you enjoy a thrill, you will definitely get one. You can hear the animals at night and the hyenas come close to your tent. It's a must have experience. Thank you to all the staff for making our stay such an enjoyable one.

If on a safari at Serengeti, the Kati Kati Camp is the right choice. In this tented camp you will get a real safari experience. You sleep in a spacious tent in the middle of the Serengeti and in midst of lions or buffalos. At night it might happen, that the lion visits you in front of your tent. The staff is amazingly friendly and caring. Warm water for the shower (every tent has its own shower and toilet) is brought to your tent´s shower within minutes. The food is excellent and freshly cooked every evening for dinner. We were a group of seven persons and all of us were overwhelmed. The only room for improvement is, that the interior of the tents could get a little refurbishment after the ten years of its existence.

We had a great experience at Kati Kati!

This is a semi-permanent tented camp. We understand that the location sometimes moves season to season, but our location was situated a bit above a lake filled with flamingos, which provided lovely scenery and a wonderful place to relax after our game drives. We enjoyed a large private tent, with a regular porcelain toilet and a bucket shower included en suite. There was a communal fire each evening and fresh snacks (popcorn or roasted nuts and fresh plantain chips) around the fire, with wine and beer available for purchase (quite inexpensive). We enjoyed excellent meals here, including for the two vegetarians in our group. We also especially liked that, at this camp, the packed lunches were a "pick your own lunch items" after breakfast, which left no wasted food (at other camps, full pre-packed lunches usually resulted in our leaving certain items we hadn't wanted).

The camp was very eco- friendly, which we specifically noted in the showers. For showers, you let the staff know about 10 minutes before you're ready for the shower and they fill the bucket with hot water. There is enough water for several minutes, which is plenty as long as you're turning the water off while not in active use. The staff will wait outside the tent until you are done to conserve any leftover water, which does inadvertently encourage you to be expedient.

Overall, while not a "luxury camp," we thought this was a wonderful experience and would return again!

I genuinely felt very sad to leave this special place. It was an incredible experience to stay here.

Waking up to views of giraffes and Zebras walking by the tent was pretty surreal. The camp was in a great location and we saw plenty of wildlife really close by.

The tent was spacious and the bed was pretty comfy. We found it a little eerie at first hearing Hyenas at night but you are very safe if you follow the rules (get escorted to your tent at night etc). We were a little anxious of the bucket shower but the water was hot and it was ready in less than 10 minutes. We were impressed by the full working toilet and sink with running water as we were not expecting such luxuries in a camp that is not a permanent base.

The staff are extremely friendly and make you feel really welcome. A big shout out to the chef who provided the most incredible meals every day. The food was always so delicious and full of flavour. Thank you for providing me with lots of avocados when you heard how much I love them.

We spent 3 nights at Kati Kati, and had a very special experience there.

We enjoyed how the rusticity of the glamping adventure was paired with outstanding food and service. The team was jovial and helpful, keen to take care of us and really fun to be around. They put in long hours but kept the spirit light and playful. We loved the breakfast (especially the amazing pancakes!) and the convenience of delicious packed lunches for a day on safari.

We got a kick out of the bucket shower in our tent and found one bucket of warm water was plenty adequate to do the job. We also really liked the early evening campfires where everyone gathered to share a drink and the stories of the day.

This camp is in the center of the action; one morning during breakfast a family of giraffes ambled casually by as we ate.

Our guide was the kind and knowledgeable Samson of Kibo Guides who became our friend, problem-solver and teacher, making our time in the Serengeti very memorable, especially the day taking in the Great Migration.

A heartfelt asante sana to Samson along with Moses, Danny, Earnest and everyone at Kari Kati for a terrific experience. ❤️

Good tented camp, all needs available, no powerpoints in rooms so have to use charges in dining tent. Stay are friendly, very limited drinks available and wine is not good. Rooms are adequate but have stayed in nicer tented camps.

Hi You are right in observing that there are no mosquito nets in the tents at Kati Kati Camp. We did the Simba Safari and out of all the camps we went to in the 8 days the 2 nights at Kati Kati were the only ones with no mosquito nets. The tents are large and have mesh over all the windows. The door is a zip so lift and shut quickly. The catering tent is open all the time so when having dinner make sure you have plenty of Deet spray on you. We took plenty and my partner only got bitten a couple of times. I was lucky and did not get bitten. My advice to you and being someone who has been on safari a lot,‘I would contact your agent and ask them to make the request of the camp to have nets put up in your tent. But do take your own too. They are not heavy in the case. Sorry I cannot be of more help. It’s an amazing experience and adds a great touch to a safari. Regards Peter
