We would definitively recommend this incredible place as a great spot to explore Serengeti. It is very new, superbly decorated, the tents are unbelievably luxurious given the isolated location you are in, hard to believe. Service and staff are excellent and all the team is super friendly. On top we were highly surprised by the quality and gourmet nature of the dinner. The cherry on the cake: you front face sunset and at dawn your horizon is very often populated by zebras and buffalos.

Sound of silence has a magnificent location and great views (you have a clear view up to 20 km away). From you own tent you can see the animals passing by; elephants, impalas, giraffes, zebras and so on.
The personnel will do everything to make you feel comfortable and relaxed. Nothing is too much for them. They will always help you with a smile.

And what’s more, the food is excellent. We stayed for three days and were time and time again blown away by the superb dinners. What quality in, what is in fact, the middle of nowhere. In comparison to other lodges and tented camps with higher rankings, the food of Sound of Silence was the best. Which also includes the lunchboxes containing sandwiches, salads, fruit, cookies, cake, chocolate, fruit juices etc. In one word: amazing.

Thanks to the solar panels and batteries, you have 24 hours a day electricity, warm water with good water pressure, a comfortable bed, spacious tent with a cosy setup. In the restaurant tent there is free wifi.

We stayed here for two nights and had a truly memorable experience. They call it a "tented camp"... and yes, it is technically a tent, but it was so much nicer than most hotels I have ever stayed in! First of all, the tent was massive! With a king size bed, two more twin beds in the room, hardwood floors, and great water pressure in the shower.  The only negative was, we were there when it was very hot outside, and obviously being a tent there isn't any air conditioning, so it did get quite hot. But when the sun went down, the temperature dropped, and it became very comfortable to sleep.  The view from the outside of the tent was amazing, with the most incredible sunsets every evening. Also, every morning there were large groups of Cape Buffalo walking just meters from our door! We had dinner and breakfast at the camp, and every meal we had was delicious and very fresh. There were about three different choices of entrees each evening, and eggs to order for breakfast and a variety of breads/muffins. What I think made this stay truly memorable though, was the staff. Gifty, Esther, and Grace made the experience so enjoyable. They were there for any questions or help we needed during our stay, and couldn't be more accommodating and friendly! Also, they are taking Covid precautions very seriously. Temperature checks and sanitizer, we felt very safe the entire time!

A family trip that we had been meaning to take for a while, turned into a grand event thanks to the excellent, accommodating, hospitable and friendly staff at the Sound of Silence. From the time we arrived to the time we left, the manager Gifty was an extraordinary host along with Gloria.

Upon arrival at sunset, we were greeted at the car with fresh refreshing cold towels which was so welcoming after a long trip from Arusha. From then on it was hospitality at its best! We then sat down to a delicious 3 course meal which we raved about for the 3 nights we were there! We looked forward to dinner before we'd even had our breakfast!!!

The large high quality, luxury tents are located on the open savannah with a superb view of the plains, animals and the horizon. They are situated in such a way that we could enjoy the African sunset every evening. The tents were clean with a super hot power shower to wash away the day's dust. The beds were enormous with extremely comfortable mattresses and pillows complete with netting.

Every request was fulfilled from birthday to anniversary celebrations without them batting an eyelid. The Masaai walked us to our tents at night and was most informative. Gifty was so good and we cannot thank him enough especially for lending us his mega binoculars and camera.

If you want to truly experience living in the Serengeti then this is the place for you. It gives you a real feel of living in the wild with no fear of safety. We would definitely recommend it to all our friends and go there ourselves again.

My stay at the Sound of Silence tented lodge was the best out of all lodges/camps during my 12 day safari. Gifty and his staff of three others provided the best service and hospitality for my three night stay. Each time you arrive back you are greeted with refreshing towel and juice. The food is 5 star the best you will have in Tanzania presentation, taste it is all there. Tents are spacious, clean and comfortable. Laundry service was available and everything was clean and neatly ironed. The staff should be very proud of this fairly new tented camp. Animals move through the plain in front of camp warthog, lions and buffalo were seen during my stay. Do not hesitate to select Sound of Silence as you will not be disappointed!

Thank you for taking the time to give us the feedback. I am very glad that you had the "experience of a lifetime" as that is what we aim for on every one stay at Sound of Silence. I am particularly pleased with your comments about the Staffs+Manager - Gift, as they are an important part of our organisation: they can make or break a safari/stay experience. I do hope that we can see you again sometime. Kind regards, Arnold Wilbard. Sales Director.

Sound of Silence was the second camp we stayed at on our 6 day safari, organised by our safari company. Whilst it was a little away from 'the action' in the Serengeti for the time of year it was absolutely worth the extra travel. The staff were absolutely wonderful from start to finish, very attentive, friendly, fun and most importantly authentic which made a huge difference to some of our other experiences. The tents themselves are amazing, really spacious, beautifully decorated with all the little details considered including water for brushing your teeth, torches, hangers and lots of storage space. The food was an absolute HIGHLIGHT, being owned by Jan a Dutchman it had a real European feel whilst still being locally sourced and everything we ate was cooked and seasoned to perfection! The drinks were lovely and very reasonably priced, we had some laundry done really quickly and on our first night Jan (the owner) sat round the campfire with all the guests - and staff! - with his guitar and we sang campfire songs under the stars, what a magical experience! We couldn't recommend the camp highly enough and could have spent many more days there, thank you to Gifte and the team for a wonderful couple of nights!!

Our family stayed here for 3 nights during our time in central serengeti. It was absolutely incredible. The tents have constant power, wifi, and water available, and they are spacious and beautifully decorated. The food is a la carte and cooked to your preference. They can meet any, and I mean ANY, dietary requests. The selection of beer, wine, and cocktails was very good. The staff are very friendly and attentive. And most importantly it is located in a great location with lots of animals roaming the property reminding you that this is the wilderness despite the luxury atmosphere. Highly recommended!

This is definitely my favorite stay in Tanzania - and we've stayed in a lot of hotels/camps in our 30-day trip!
From the moment we arrived right about sunset, we saw the camps a few meters away while we were in the car and we're so excited! The sheer beauty of it! We were always greeted with towels and refreshments upon arrival, perfect after a day in Serengeti then have some rest and enjoy the breathtaking sunset.
The staff were so kind and accommodating and the food was the best we have had in our 6-day Safari!
I wish we could've stayed here longer! We will definitely be back in Arusha one day and I'll definitely stay here again, this time much longer.
Asante sana!

We were there a month ago in mid January 2022! What a special place! The staff are all fabulous and work so hard to make everything so wonderful! We stayed two nights and in the evening after safari the staff were there to greet us with hot towels snacks and drinks!! Really the Royal treatment. Plus wonderful conversation and they listened to our stories from the day.
Chef John is an excellent chef making beautiful creations out in the middle of nowhere ! We Miss our friends, Gift Solomon Flora and Reema!! So sweet!
We woke every morning to hear animals wandering near our tent but felt super safe! So exciting.

The Dining tent is so cozy, drinks are excellent, food fabulous. Rooms are awesome! Comfy beds, rooms look right out over savannah. You can even leave your outer tent cover unzipped at night for views. My kids and my husband and I loved loved loved this place!! Hopefully we will be back again soon!!

One of the coolest places we’ve ever stayed! From arrival to departure, I don’t know if I’ve ever experienced a warmer, more friendly staff! We were met with welcome drinks and snacks while we checked in and then we were shown our tent. We are a family of 4 (2 adults, 2 kids) and our tent was luxurious! The tents are raised up on platforms and have beautiful wooden floors throughout. The kids each had a single bed and their own bathroom, while the adults had an attached but private room with a king bed and our own bathroom. Beds all had mosquito nets and there was plenty of mineral water for brushing teeth and drinking. There was strong wifi in the tent (which is impressive for being miles away from civilization!) and you could charge all your devices right next to your bed. The food was incredible - we had dinner, breakfast and a box lunch here. Each course is brought out with a silver cover and they teach you how to count to three before you open it together which we thought was fun! Breakfast was a buffet but you could also get eggs and pancakes. For the box lunch we customized what we each wanted and it was all delicious! I feel like every detail was considered at this camp and we so enjoyed our time there. We sat out at the fire after dinner looking at the stars and it was incredible. After dark, we were escorted to our tent by security holding a spear! (All we saw was a dik dik). Overnight you can hear so many animal sounds - it’s indescribable! When we woke up and walked to breakfast we saw animal prints left from the night before - so cool! When we left the whole staff walked us to the car to say goodbye. What an unforgettable experience we had here. Easily my favorite place we stayed during our week in Tanzania!

Honestly, within our tent it was a little slow and spotty at times. So when we did want to go on the internet, we ended up going over to the main tent where the restaurant was, and the internet was relatively fast there. I think it all depends on the location of your tent, if your located closer to the main one, you'll have better wifi. Hope that helps!
