Out of this world! Words fail me when describing the experience of 2 nights in the middle of the Serengeti with the native animals in there natural environment.
From our arrival at Seronera Airport, in the heart of the central Serengeti, to our departure 2 days later the experience was mind-blowing. Our Guide, Eugene, was waiting for us to start our journey to the hotel with a 1 hour plus in-promptu game drive. Arriving at the hotel, the staff were lined up to greet us, introduce themselves, take us through the formalities of check in etc before lunch in an open sided dining area overlooking the savannah with wildlife grazing on the grass and trees or just passing through.
Lunch over, our Masai escorted us to our tented room. What a shock we had!! One of 15 tents, each has a large reception area with desk, sofa, fridge, kettle etc. The large bedroom was very spacious with a king-size bed and more than enough storage space. The bathroom was as large as the reception area, with a bathtub, internal and external shower, which is an experience knowing that the only thing between you and the animals is a wooden surround.
Outside each room is a balcony with a small double pool and lounge area, with soft furnishings, so you can chose how you want to relax and watch the wildlife pass by.
After a late afternoon game drive it was back for dinner. The food was outstanding and plentiful. Considering the location and facilities, the chef presented meals to high class hotel standard. Well done.
What can I say about the safari the following day. Off in search of wildlife and we were not disappointed. From leaving the hotel grounds to returning nearly 10 hours later we were treated to some of the sights you can ever expect. Lions, Leopard, Hippo, Giraffe, Buffalo and hundreds of Elephants. As the migration had not started, not one Zebra or Wildebeest was seen so other prey animals such as Hartebeest, Impala, Dikdik and Topi were easily seen.
Highlight for me though was not only seeing the elusive Leopard but seeing 2, a male and female in different areas of the park.
Lemala Nanyukie Tented Camp is truly exceptional place but it is enhanced to a higher level by the staff who all play there part very professionally. This team is lead by Goodluck, Rebecca and Andre who not only asked our names on arrival but remembered our names throughout our stay up to the moment of our departure.
If it hadn't been for the fact that we were leaving Tanzania the following day, we would have stayed for a third night. Maybe next time!!
On the plains, everyone helps each other when in difficulty and does not drive by, so if a guide passes another vehicle stuck in mud, the guide will help get the vehicle out.
Finally, a very special thank you to our guide, Eugene. You made the safari something to always remember. You took us to the animals and your knowledge helped us understand more about the beautiful creatures that roam free.

Very highly recommended!

We had the most memorable experience at nanyukie. Our room was a luxury tented suite with a plunge pool facing the ever beautiful savannah grasslands with lots of games passing by such as buffaloes, gazelles, giraffes, elephants and lots of birds as well that reside on the thorny acacias that are ever present while sipping your favorite drink or having a siesta on your comfort sofa or just relaxing in your plunge pool especially when the temperatures reach 30 degrees plus. The staff treated us with royalty and gave a warm-hearted welcome. Joseph the chef prepared for us delectable dishes according to our liking especially the bush picnics while our guide Hassan really took us to the wildest and rarest experiences of the big 5 ranging from bonding of 2 male lions, sightings of 3 leopards, cheetahs and a cheetah kill while a herd of elephants just striding 3 feet away from our vehicle. Finally a surprise by nature on the last day of our safari of spotting an energetic black rhino that charged us on a location that he does not reside was a windfall and highlight of our serengeti safari. The ambiance in the lodge was luxurious starting from the reception area, the bar, fire place, the dining area and finally the tent was very spacious with a bath tub and outdoor shower. Greg the manager and his team ensured with had a comfortable stay and we would wish to experience it again.

This lodge commands a view in a prime and exclusive location in the eastern Serengeti. The lodge is masterfully constructed with attention to every detail including plunge pools on the verandas that have expansive views of an open area area that is daily traversed by elephants and Cape buffalo. You can relax safely on your veranda and experience some of the finest game viewing in the Serengeti. WOW!
The lodge is managed by Andrea and Rebecca both of whom share a deep commitment to nature and the environment and to helping visitors experience and appreciate it. We participated in a walking safari with Andrea and other guides that allowed us to immerse ourselves in the bush. I felt like I was part of a National Geographic crew. They were so knowledgeable and secured our safety such that I never felt worried for a minute ever when we walked past a puff adder!
The lodge is solar powered and manages water responsibly but you as a guest never lack for anything. The food is delicious and skillfully prepared by Hazel.
Every staff member engages you with a smile and care. I left the lodge with my family of 5 this morning and I honestly cried as our Land Cruiser pulled away...these are very special people welcoming and hosting you in the heart of African Wilderness!

Thank you so much for taking the time to write this wonderful review. We are so happy that you loved our camp, our beautiful rooms with the plunge pools and the 'veranda safaris' watching wildlife go by from the comfort of the rooms. Walking safaris offer a unique way of seeing the wilderness and offer a deeper level of immersion into the natural world. We are pleased you felt safe at all times during the walk, even with the dangerous game encounters that you had, due to the experience and professionalism of the guides. We loved having you stay at Nanyukie and we truly appreciate your kind comments to the whole team. We hope to welcome you back again soon. Best Wishes, The Nanyukie Team

Lemala Nanyukie were excellent hosts for our 3 day stay in late June 2021. It sits in a stunning location with wide views of a savannah featuring acacia trees and wildlife including an occasional elephant. One of the escorts showed us a lion on the hill just up from the main building after we woke one morning! Goodluck, Rebecca, Agugu, and the entire staff made sure we were well-fed, welcomed, pampered, and safe. The rooms were spacious, private-feeling, elegant, and comfortable, with views of the savannah. The USB chargers at the bedsides were especially convenient. The drink and food was of excellent quality and exquisitely presented. The laundry service returned all of our items the same evening. We were repeatedly eager to return from our daily drives to be greeted by warm scented cloths to clean our faces and hands. We recommend Lemala Nanyukie highly and without reservation.

Thank you very much for sharing a selection of your pictures from your trip, what amazing sightings you had of cheetah and leopards! We are delighted that you recommend Lemala Nanyukie so highly and that you enjoyed your stay so much. We are glad that the maasai was able to point out the lion for you from camp, she is still hanging around camp and we have start to see her 2 little cubs that are about 1 month old! Thank you for mentioning the convenience of having the USB chargers by the bed, definitely makes life a bit easier when travelling internationally. Best wishes The Nanyukie Team

We were debating on the Four Seasons, Namiri Plains Camp, or Lemala Nanyukie to celebrate a 50th birthday, and Nanyukie was the clear winner for a dream stay.

Start with location. Nanyukie is perfectly situated with easy access to the most evocative areas of the Serengeti. The kopjes filled with large cats, the endless plains, and Seronera are all within an easy 45 minutes drive through stunning scenery. Game abounds all around the property, and from our deck we watched elephant, giraffe, water buffalo, topi, gazelle, and jackal all within 50 metres of our lounge chairs. It was like a dream.

Accomodation and Amenities. If there is finer luxury in the Serengeti we challenge you to find it. The "tents" are beautifully laid out with beautiful fixtures and linens, high end toiletries, private decks and plunge pools (swimsuits optional), freestanding bathtubs and outdoor showers overlooking the savannah, and well appointed modern details throughout.

Service. At every turn our needs were anticipated, our drinks preferences were silently noted and our minifridge was stocked with them, the first day I picked some red onion out of my fresh baby lettuce salad, and all salads were adjusted accordingly without my asking therein, any request we had for information related to the park or anything else was researched for us or answered with grace and insight. We were sorry to miss the normal European managers who are apparently well loved by guests, but we honestly felt privileged that our manager Goodluck was a local who provided us that warm, distinctive hospitality that is so classically Tanzanian. It's much less about simple acts of service and more about a genuine experience of welcome that we felt in his care.

We were also thrilled that our guide Paskalina was a woman, and we must say she brought a much more intimate experience to wildlife viewing than we have had in the past with male guides. It was nice to see the lodge supporting this kind of diversity in its ranks, and nice to benefit from the experience. We gave Paskalina a description of the kind of landscapes we wanted to enjoy, and she knew exactly where to take us, where to stop for a bush picnic, and like all guides she effortlessly spotted things we would have never seen without her. We even spotted a caracal, something we'd not seen in years of safari driving!

The facility is still quite new, and it seems it is priced just under several other competitors whom we feel pale in comparison. Get in now, while they are still building their clientele. You will be so glad you did.

Thank you Nanyukie, for what can only be described as a purely blissful stay.

We just spent 4 nights at Nanyukie and it was simply amazing.

Safety first! We felt that all staff took Covid 19 measures very seriously, wearing masks while hand sanitizer and washing buckets were set up in every general tent.

The whole camp is amazing and the tents are spacious with great interior design and comfort. You are escorted to and from the tent as it is set directly in the Serengeti and the animals roam close to and sometimes even inside the camp. Enjoying your morning coffee or afternoon break on the porch with a view of the Serengeti is just awesome.

The Game Drives (half or full day) are available. We got to see all animals we were hoping to see. We had a fantastic, very friendly, very knowledgeable guide called Barnabas. He made those game drives even more memorable and is simply a great person. His driving skill are amazing, he got us home safely on flooded roads during a 3 hour thunderstorm!!

Andrea and Rebecca are running this camp with such a positive attitude and dedication that reflects on all of the staff. Thanks for those 5 wonderful days!

Highlight of stay at Nanyukie was the 4 hour walking safari with Andrea (thanks for making it possible!) as a guide, Barnabas and a Park Ranger. I have rarely (or never?)felt closer to nature. We learned a lot about the Serengeti and its inhabitants while enjoying being so close to everything.

Andrea, Rebecca, Barnabas, GoodLuck, John and the whole Nanyukie team, THANKS! We had a blast and will surely come back!

My husband and I recently stayed here as part of our honeymoon trip. This is an amazing location, we were able to watch the sunrise from our room in the mornings (ask for #14 😉) I’m not sure when this lodge was built but everything about it seemed brand new and pristine. The tents have all the modern comforts you could want and we loved having the outdoor shower. There are cute rock climbing hyraxes around camp that we enjoyed watching. On game drives we were able to see a high volume of lions and cheetahs along with a large variety of other animals. One day the kitchen packed us an amazing packed lunch for us to have out on the Serengeti, absolutely incredible. The staff is very attentive and genuinely wants to ensure you have a pleasant stay with everything you need. We had an wonderful waiter, Edmas, for all of our meals. One night there was tiramisu for dessert and I told him how excited I was because its my favorite dessert. The next morning he brought me some for breakfast! You will truly be taken care of at Lemala Nanyukie.

Dear minorsr, We are delighted to hear that you had such a wonderful stay at Nanyukie on your honeymoon trip. Waking up to see the sunrise to the sounds of the dawn chorus of the bush is the best way to start a day, a sentiment shared by Ernest Hemingway who wrote "I never knew of a morning in Africa where I woke up and was not happy." The outdoor showers are an experience, we are pleased that you tried and enjoyed them. Nanyukie was built in 2018 and we are pleased that everything still looks pristine. We are very happy that you had great wildlife sightings during your safaris and that you enjoyed the packed hamper lunch that we provided for your full day safari. We will be certain to pass on your complements to Edmas for taking such attention to you and adding the personal touch to your stay. We pride ourselves on the service we offer and really appreciate the positive feedback on our team. Best wishes Rebecca, Andrea and the Nanyukie Team

Want a delightful and unexpected experience in the middle of the Serengeti? Nestled in the middle of the long grass of the plain is this amazing place to stay. Although the rooms look like tents, they do have real walls and wooden floors, a feature much admired by our teenage granddaughters. The tented accommodations give you the impression of being ensconced in nature while providing elegant features, not the least of which are enormous rooms. Glass doors open up the whole length of the room to bring the Serengeti closer. It was relaxing to sit in the comfy chairs around the pool and in the conversation pit and watch baboons chasing and playing among the rocks of the kopjes not far from our room as the sun set. A native rock outside shower transitioned to another, larger shower inside. A huge tub, double sinks and a separate toilet completed the bath area, which could be closed off for privacy with sliding doors (think Japanese shoji). A huge bed hung with romantic mosquito nets fit easily into the enormous room. The delicious food was professionally prepared by an outstanding chef and thoughtfully presented by well-trained and friendly servers. Wi-fi was available in our tents, an amenity that was a favorite of the teenagers. Our experience at Lemala Nanyukie will bring us back again next year when we return with our younger granddaughters. Don’t miss the Nanyukie adventure.

What can i say about the camp, it was amazing. The location is magical, on the drive up to the camp we saw giraffes and lions! Getting to the camp you are greeted with a warm towel to refresh you and smiling faces from the camp. Wright the manager spoke to use, he is very warm and calm, you can see he wants his guests to be happy. We headed for lunch and Christine looked after us in the restaurant, from that moment until the day we left she greeted us with a smile and made sure we were looked after when dining. The food was also very good. The rooms are stunning, wifi was not the best but at the end of the day we were in the Serengeti so i dont blame them. We were super lucky to have Rahim and Samsun as our game drivers. I can not fault them AT ALL. When Rahim speaks you listen, hes calm and interesting when he talks, he has so much knowledge about the animals. We could tell he wanted us to enjoy the game drives and see as much animals as possible, the genuine love he has for the animals is evident. Samsun also was a pleasure to be around and his knowledge on birds is mind blowing. They never rushed us when we were looking at animals. I would definitely recommend this camp. Hopefully we will be back one day.

We flew into Kilimanjaro via Amsterdam on KLM. We were met by a representative of Kensington Tours, who I heartily recommend. It was the first time we have used them in Africa but will certainly not be the last. They arranged our complete itinerary through the Ngorongoro Crater and the Serengeti. We had the same guide throughout, which was wonderful. He was passionate about his work and very knowledgeable as well. The price for the trip was all inclusive and was not broken down by game drives, meals, etc. The only "extra" we added was a hot air balloon flight, which I would nearly insist you add. You will not be disappointed. Also, tips for the staff were not included. Nor were the several covid tests we needed to have done that were required by the various airlines and countries.
