We were the only guests there for the two nights we stayed and we were treated like royalty. Breakfast was good, coffee excellent, and that set us up well for a long day out with our knowledgable guide, Sharifu Mwanamsangu. He ensured we had great success finding all of the animals that you’d hope to see. Returning to camp, our tent had all of the facilities you’d expect, so it was wonderfully comfortable. The Asanja team were great and they organised sunset dinners for us on both nights. A fabulous place that we hope to return to.

Romoth and his crew did everything in their power to make our visit extra special. The facilities were better than we expected with an exceptional view of a pond (due to rainy season) and grasslands where we watched and/or listened to hippos, crocodiles, zebras, elephants, lions, hyenas, antelope, ostriches and giraffes. Each evening we relaxed on the deck after adventurous safari drives, watched the sunset while crew fixed us delicious meals, served on the deck with white clothed tables, lanterns and Asanja TV” (a lovely fire in the fire-pit). The crew were friendly, humorous and pleasant. For anyone who wants to getaway from it all (including other tourists) live close to nature (safely), while enjoying the wildlife of the Serengeti… this is your place!

Before I review the hotel, I have to give a shout out to Asanja Africa for planning a wonderful trip in Tanzania for us. Kimti from Asanja Africa kept all our wishes in mind, had the most helpful suggestions and was always checking in to make sure that we had a great trip. Tony our guide for the game drives made sure that we had memorable game drives in Ngorongoro and Serengeti. The whole Asanja team made us feel like we are with family during holiday period. Coming to Asanja Grumeti, the camp is fantastic. The team organised a bush lunch, nature walk, sunrise breakfast and sunset drinks by the river. We heard stories about Grumeti, Ikoma tribe and all of this was accompanied by scrumptious meals. From seeing leopard to seeing Topis to seeing impalas from the camp to enjoying candle light dinners.. the stay was magical. By the end of it we felt 2 nights was too short and we should have planned for at least 4 nights. From a warm welcome to a singing farewell.. it was just a wonderful experience. Asante Sane to Rometh and his team at Asanja Grumeti camp.

This was my first time in the Serengeti and I wasn't sure what to expect. Nothing could have prepared me for the most wonderful experience and warmest welcome from Rometh and his team at Asanja Grumeti. There are only 3 tents plus the dining tent so it's a small, quiet camp, hidden away in the bush and completely blending in with the surroundings. The canvas tents are very spacious, with wooden floors and well equipped with beautiful furniture. Ours had a very comfortable large double bed, indoor washstand, bath and toilet and outdoor shower. There are chairs on the verandah overlooking an open marshy area surrounded by trees, where you can sit and watch the ever changing scene in front of you. The morning after our arrival we were treated to the most beautiful sunrise with elephants strolling past in the distance. The team were very friendly and caring, nothing was too much trouble. We are both vegan and were very well catered for, the food was excellent. One highlight was lunch out in the bush, cooked on an outdoor stove. We then went on a bush walk with Rometh and a ranger who shared their extensive knowledge of the habitat and wildlife. We are both keen birdwatchers and another highlight for us, in addition to close views of elephants and giraffes, was the rich diversity of bird life to be found in and around the camp. An unforgettable experience, especially the singing from the whole team to send us on our way!

Big thank you to Romuth and the team for making our stay in Grumeti very special. Everyone was very friendly and accommodating, and the site itself is fantastic. Romuth organised some great events for us like a bush dinner and a short walking safari, and we would have done more if not for the rain. The food was outstanding, with creative and varied vegetarian and vegan options. Romuth even organised great pack lunches for us to take on safari. Our tent was extremely comfortable with wooden flooring, a double bed, shower, bath, toilet and wardrobe. Asanja have done a great job of balancing luxury with genuine eco-friendly design.

This is a camp to visit if you want to stay really close to nature and feel the African wildlife all around you. The tents are spacious and quite basic, with comfortable beds, hot and cold water, flushing toilet, bathtub and outdoor shower. The service is just fantastic! As there are only three tents in the camp the feeling is more like being in somebody’s home rather than in a “hotel”. The food is very good.

jambo jambo P2932IFthomasv, Wow, your review has got us all grinning from ear to ear! 🌟 Getting up close and personal with African wildlife? That's the real deal! 🦁🌿 And yes, our tents are all about that sweet balance between comfy and rustic – hot water, outdoor shower, and a bathtub for those 'wild' bubble baths! 🛁🌄 Feeling like you're in somebody's home rather than a "hotel"? You've nailed it! We're like the coolest home away from home in the Serengeti. Our team's dedication is top-notch, and we treat every guest like family. 🏡❤️ Glad you enjoyed our food too! Good food is a must, and we're stoked you found it very good. Thanks for being a part of our wild family, and here's to more adventures in the future! Cheers to safari-style fun!!

We loved staying here, Isaac and team did a great job, and couldn't have treated us better. The camp was quite private, tents spacious, clean and comfortable (w/ outdoor shower), The second day we were there we took a break from driving and relaxed on the front porch of our tent - and a family of about 15 elephants slowly made their trundled right past us, only about 50 yards away. One of the best days of our trip.

Heyy there... 🐘🎉 It sounds like your stay with us was electrifying! Isaac and the team are blushing with pride at your kind words. We've been known to sprinkle a little extra magic to make sure our guests feel extremely special. Who needs TV when you've got a front-row seat to a 15-elephant spectacle? 🍿🐘That's not just a Kodak moment, that's a National Geographic cover shot right there! We like to think our front porches are like the VIP section for wildlife spectacles.. We're absolutely tickled that you had such a rip-roaring time with us. Here's to making memories that rival even the wildest dreams. 🌟🏕️ We look forward to having you once again for more adventourous journey

This tiny camp in the western Serengeti is an absolute gem. With only three guest tents there are almost always more staff than guests, and they are so kind and helpful. It was a pleasure to get to know Ramoth over a drink in the firelight. The tents themselves were very comfortable. The outdoor shower is a nice quirk though keep a watch for the mosquitoes ... The only slight downside is that the loo, although behind a screen, is inside the main part of the tent. A bit awkward for the (adult) brother and sister in our party who were sharing a tent. The view from the tents across the plains means that you can wake up to the sight of elephants in front of you, which is truly amazing. Our abiding memory will be watching sundown over the Seregeti with a beer in hand and the elephants in attendance. Spectacular!

Your kind words about our staff will bring beaming smiles to their faces. We're glad to hear that you found the tents comfortable and the outdoor shower a quirky addition. We appreciate your feedback about the loo placement - we're always looking for ways to improve our guests' experiences. Waking up to the sight of elephants - isn't it just the best alarm clock ever? We're thrilled that these magnificent creatures and the breathtaking views could contribute to your amazing experience. And there's nothing quite like a Serengeti sundown, is there? Especially with a cold beer in hand and elephants gracing the scene. Those are the moments we live for at Asanja. Thank you for choosing us and for sharing your memories and feedback. We can't wait to welcome you back for more spectacular sunsets and elephant sightings. Until then, keep the Serengeti in your heart. Best wishes,
