The Meliá Serengeti Lodge member of Meliá Collection blends into its natural surroundings without relinquishing the services and facilities of a luxury hotel. Through the use of natural materials that develop a patina, dark colors and organic shapes, the resultant building should pay homage to the genius loci. Nestled in the heart of Serengeti National Park, Meliá Serengeti Lodge is celebrated for its idyllic location that marries natural splendor with comfort. The lodge's atmosphere is marked by a refined elegance, with tastefully decorated interiors that guests find both comforting and festive. While most travelers relish the spacious rooms with their breathtaking views and private balconies, a few have noted slight maintenance issues. The cleanliness of the lodge receives high marks, with its facilities meticulously cared for.
Service at Meliá Serengeti Lodge is frequently lauded as friendly and professional, adding a personalized touch to guest experiences. The amenities, including the luxurious pool and well-equipped gym, meet the high expectations of visitors. We have stayed at many 5 star hotels all around the world but our stay at Melia Serengeti was phenomenal from arriving and seeing the world class view of the Serengeti to being checked in whilst sitting in comfortable lounge seating, receiving cold towels and welcome drinks to being shown around the facilities. The piece de resistance was our room which had the most amazing private balcony with ceiling fan, sofa and the beautiful view across the Serengeti. This hotel is amazing! All staff looked after us very very well, it felt like we were with family, we were made to feel special. Jose Antonio who is the general manager was very supportive and makes sure all his guests are comfortable and being looked after. The food was some of the best food we have tasted, the service was exceptional. If you are going to do a Safari in the Serengeti you must stay at Melia Serenget, we booked two nights however the second day, we cancelled our safari day and we ended up staying in the hotel because the facilities were so good that we wanted to enjoy them. The infinity pool has to have the best view of all infinity pools across the world! My advice to other travellers is to spend a little more when planning your Safari in Tanzania and stay at the Melia Serengeti, you will not be disappointed. We have fallen in love with the Amelia culture, ethos and hospitality so much that we asked José Antonio to assist us with moving our booking in Zanzibar to Melia, which is where I am writing this review from. Thank you Jose Antonio and all your team for such a memorable time and opening our eyes to the Melia experience.

Luxury is attention to the details.
Mr Cesar and his amazing team of Meliã Serengeti Lodge they real nailed it.
The customer service at this property is top notch.
The suite was clean and well staged with all safari decoration furnitures and comfortable beds , left us with trouble on deciding whether to go on safari or just relax at the lodge every morning!🙈
While sipping a hot cuppa in your room you could easily see animal in front of the lodge every morning and evening come for drinking water.
The food was delicious always left us on craving for more. My momma was served her favorite beer and I was surprised with my favorite chorizo. We felt we were home. So calmly and relaxing.
After we checked out we felt so recharged was like we had a whole in our hearts and after stay here it’s got filled up. We are sincerely grateful to the team definitely we will go back. Thank you so much Meliã Serengeti team you are the Stars💫😍🙏🏾
I proudly recommend this place. Actually it a must to stay at Meliã Serengeti when you going on Safari in Serengeti National Park. They will never let you down. So friendly and warm.

My daughter and I are just back from a wonderful stay at this lodge. From booking to departure the hotel were fantastic. Communication was excellent and you felt like nothing was too much trouble. The lodge itself was designed in keeping with the local environment and the finishes were of a very high standard. The staff were genuinely friendly and very organised so that everything went as planned. They booked our internal flights for us and our covid tests and it meant we had a stress free experience. The food was of a very good standard and surroundings for dining just beautiful with lots of candles and a fire pit. We used the spa and again the experience was very good. I really can't fault the hotel at all and would definitely return. Our guide made sure we saw lots of animals which was a treat in such an amazing natural environment. The weather was dry and mid 70's each day so really comfortable. The only thing we would do different is that we went on a day trip to the Nygorongoro Crater which was a 12 hour trip and if going there again would suggest staying in a lodge there for the night.

We had an incredible stay at Melia in October 2020. The lodge did an amazing job at welcoming us during a pandemic and making us feel safe.
The lodge itself it beautifully designed, you feel relaxed from the moment you walk in. We spent a total of 4 nights with safaris during the day. One full day we spent poolside because the lodge really is that relaxing and beautiful.
Our safari guide Victor was top notch. He listened to what we were most interested in seeing and made it happen. He had an eye for spotting the animals and got us closer than we would have imagined. If you want to see elephants, lions, cheetahs, leopards, zebras, etc. this place is for you!!
The food at Melia was overly plentiful and delicious. They did a great job at having a diverse selection available, made sure everything was to our liking, and had 3-5 course meals at nearly every lunch and dinner. It was top class service and food. The chef came out multiple times to see how we enjoyed everything which was a great touch.
We cannot thank Melia enough for our once in a lifetime holiday. It was the perfect way to spend relaxing after hiking Mt Kilimanjaro. Highly recommended!

If we could give more than 5 stars we would, the Melia Serengeti is the most wonderful place we have ever had the pleasure of staying at.
The staff are extremely professional and also so welcoming and friendly. We left feeling like we had made new friends, we miss you already :)
The stunning, immaculate decor and setting with a beautiful view of the savannah that you could never get tired of.
The food was super delicious, every single meal was outstanding with wonderful service.
We booked a massage in the spa, which was nothing but perfect and so relaxing after long days on game drives.
Every single member of staff went above and beyond to make our stay for our honeymoon extra special, we got upgraded rooms, left little treats and was surprised by staff with a private sundowner in the bush which was absolutely stunning.
This Place will always have a special place in our hearts and we hope to return soon.
Thank you all at Melia Serengeti

In a gated community this well designed modern hotel is immaculate. The view from all room terraces and the hotel itself are stunning. The layout of the room facilitated the view across the Serengeti plains and the mosquito nets on the sweeping terrace doors enabled us to sleep with them fully open so one could hear the sounds of Africa in its truest form. The chic and open restaurant and the tented local design restaurant were delightful. The truly international and local foods were of excellent quality demonstrating the Chefs talent and his passion for creativity. Excellent choice of wines. Great attention paid to health and safety of the guests with a Maasai accompanying us to our rooms when dark. My sister`s only negative was the 1.5 hour drive each way from the central plains to the hotel at the time of year we chose to visit.....as there were few animals to see. Nevertheless please dont let this deter you as at another time of the year it would have been very different and I personally felt the drive to the location was more than worth the end result.

I never knew that one can return back home totally rejuvenated after a Safari until my latest check inn at the Melia Serengeti Lodge.
The friendly staff made our stay feel easy and at home. The magical dinner/lunch set ups followed by tasty bbqs which incorporated african cuisine with a global touch was one of the things that i enjoyed immensely during our stay. The state of cleanness and consistent highly maintained room was out of the norm. I say this as it is not my first time to go on Safari. Our suite bedroom walls was more than 70% glass making staying indoors the most magical experience. Our room faced the Serengeti plains and gave us the feeling of a 360 degrees view.
We also were welcomed by the local Tanzanian staff which were very relaxed yet hardworking and proud about their jobs and expressed their gratitude on the management ( our discussions were spontaneous and never in front of management). All staff had worked beyond 3 years and this matters to me as a traveller as i want to ensure that my stay has a positive consequence to the locals, its community and stakeholders. The hotel amenities respect local craft and one can see that the communities around the serengeti are a part of their success for example: handmade table wear by the Maasai is everywhere to be seen. The spa oils and food ingredients seem to be locally sourced as well. Our guide was a contemporary Maasai who had strong values of his ancestors when it came to details of the park, people, flora and fauna. I am back home now... and cant wait for the next excuse to be back. Thank you for such an amazing experience. The Lodge with its staff and Park delivered!

Where do I begin. We took flightlink from Zanzibar to the Serengeti via Arusha. The drive from.the airstrip to the hotel was about an hour or so and we saw elephants, a leopard, impalas, and many other animals on the way. When we arrived we received the most refreshing welcome drink (they say it was apple juice but it was the best apple juice I've ever had). Walking into the lobby you instantly have an amazing view of the serengeti just beyond the hotel's pool. Our room seemed to have everything that we either forgot or had ran out if by that time in the trip (I broke my razor and was happy to discover one in our room). This hotel is a great alternative for those if us who want to experience luxury in the "wild". If you sleep with your balcony door open you can hear the animals (they are not quiet at all) and feel as though you are sleeping outside, without actually sleeping outside. The staff were very friendly and accommodating. Whether we wanted to have breakfast later than schedule or earlier than scheduled or if we wanted something they didnt have they were always pleasant and eager to assist. The manager was equally as pleasant and made it a pojnt to greet all guests. He talked about possibly having an "ibiza style" party in the bush. If that happens we will definitely make the long trip back. All in all Melia was amazing!

Overall I would still recommend this hotel because the food standards in mainland Tanzania are still below average, even in the most luxurious hotels. Zanzibar hotels have upped their game significantly. Not so in the main land. I need to be a bit harsh given the prices we paid. These are way higher then our South African experience with a product that is, frankly, sub par.
Let's start with the positive. The hotel has very nice rooms with incredible views. The reception/bar/restaurant area has incredible views, including sunset views. This alone makes me want to recommend the hotel.
The staff are also very nice and the service in general is of a good standard.
What lets this hotel down is the food. It is average at best. The grilled meat is chewy, the menu on offer is too basic (vegetable soups, rice and curries...etc). This is not specific to this hotel but to the Tanzanian safari experience.
Should anyone ask me my opinion, I would recommend going to South Africa over Tanzania any time. Cheaper, better lodge experience, superior wine and food.
