Set within Singita’s 350,000-acre private reserve in northern Tanzania, Faru Faru embodies a fresh take on African bush appeal and ushers in a new era of luxury wilderness safaris. Singita Faru Faru’s relaxed approach to luxury forms a golden thread throughout this easy-going lodge in the heart of the Serengeti. Its contemporary African decor and design and close-up views of a busy waterhole alongside the Grumeti River invite continuous connections with nature, while vast outdoor decks, an interactive kitchen and multiple airy enclaves for dining and drinks add personality to every culinary moment. The cafe-style bar at the heart of the lodge hums with a subtle sparkle that spills over to the pool area and firepit, making for magical evenings under starlit skies. Inspiring a profound sense of wellbeing, undiluted natural light and breathtaking views over the river and savanna plains flow seamlessly into Faru Faru’s airy bedroom suites, where every creature comfort is catered for with intuitive ease. A pale-on-pale colour palette is beautifully offset by the soothing hues of winter grasses and pink river clay, while wide, oversized windows open up to welcome the natural surrounds inside.

From the incredible luxury bathrooms and lounge at the airstrip, to the now familiar Swahili welcome by staff as our LandCruiser pulled into the lodge, till our tearful departure 5 days later, everything was perfect.
Our spacious room came with a well equipped double basin area, inside bath by the panoramic window overlooking the water hole and outside shower, large seating area with a desk and mirror plus the all important range of power sockets to recharge watches and cameras, together with a wide sideboard accommodating two fridges, a bar with our own choices of spirits and a kettle and coffee maker. The huge bed was very comfortable and had mosquito nets though we didn't see any in the room. Efficient air con and hot water bottles if we needed them.
The food and drinks service were excellent and Chef Michael and his team deserve the Serengeti equivalent of a Michelin star. We will follow Michael's career with great interest. Nothing was too much trouble: special dishes accommodating my intolerance of fish by providing something different. Two choices fo starter, 3 of main and two of dessert with ice cream as an option meant we never went to bed hungry. Our bush breakfasts satisfied the mid-morning hunger and sustained us till we got back to the lodge for one of their delicious lunches before a quick nap and out again for more game spotting.
Frankly, I cannot recognise the description by the previous guest whose visit over lapped ours as being the same lodge and wonder whether they got Faru Faru mixed up with some other place they'd stayed that was less perfect.
The Managers, Joyce and K, are absolutely on top of their game and couldn't have been more brilliant sorting out medical attention for my husband who arrived there suffering from a severe and very painful rash from caterpillar hairs picked up at our previous stay where the bed sheets had been contaminated. They arranged for us to visit their sister lodge, Sasaskwe, for High Tea where we were treated like Royalty and given the full tour before eating far more cake than was good for us!
And the game? Despite not quite catching the migration which was leading in a day or two before we left with a huge herd of zebra, there was no shortage of excitement. We saw several sets of lion cubs of varying ages, including a pair just 4-6 weeks old, watched a cheetah on the hunt, along with the usual elephants, giraffes, zebras in abundance, most types of antelope, buffalo and wildebeest and a leopard graced the camp entrance with its presence. As it was still quite wet there was no shortage of flowers and many, many birds.
Escorts are provided in hours of darkness so no need to worry about walking to the main building alone. Help is always at the end of the in-room telephone.
I can't recommend Faru Faru highly enough.

An unforgettable honeymoon to say the least. Words and pictures cannot do justice to what you experience at Singita Faru Faru Lodge. From accommodation to service, Faru Faru delivers above and beyond in all aspects.
What made a huge impression is that Singita emphasizes community, conservation, and sustainability. Although these are popular terms that many companies throw around, you immediately witness firsthand that Singita Faru Faru is genuinely built on these core principles.
As the breathtaking landscapes, exhilarating wildlife, and luxurious accommodations are a given, what truly sets Faru Faru apart and makes them truly an experience of a lifetime are the people.
Anicet Philip, our personal guide for the five days, was the cornerstone of our trip. As a frequent traveler himself, he applies what he learns while being a tourist to better serve his guests. This allows him to blend his experience to have a holistic perspective on tourism, culture, and wildlife. Although it was the green season, he made sure we saw everything from leopard cubs to a huge lion pride and everything in between. We had great conversations during our 4 hour stakeout of a successful mother and cub cheetah hunt. His extensive knowledge, friendliness, and true passion was the highlight of the game drives.
Back at the Lodge, our butler Jumanne made sure we had everything we needed. We could feel that he was genuinely happy and no small detail was overlooked. On our first night he noticed that I spent a lot of time by the fireplace after dinner so he set all of our subsequent dinners by the various fireplaces around the Lodge. One of the days I was feeling under the weather he helped in every way possible to get me back on my feet which I am extremely grateful for. Jumanne is the epitome of service with a smile.
All the staff at Singita Faru Faru from the managers, guides, chefs (taught by their own culinary school and whose food was honestly better than many restaurants in NYC), servers, and housekeepers, are the true heartbeat of the Serengeti and will make your safari a once in a lifetime adventure.

I've been Singita FaruFaru for my honeymoon and it was an amazing experience full of entertainment. All staffs are professional and always welcome our couple with a smile. Foods and all the amenities were perfect. Especially, I like the water hole view that I could watch inside the room, I enjoyed watching wild animals with a telescope.
The highlight of this hotel's activity was safari with a professional local guide. Our couple participated in safari 2 times every day with Anicet Philip who has 18 years career as a professional guide. He found Big Five
(lion, elephant, buffalo, leopard, and rhino) for us 2 times for 4 days! His guide is really professional, and I learn a lot of information about animals and wildlife in Serengeti. The most impressive thing was his face when watching animals. we can feel how much he loves animals even though he watches them every day over 18years. After I come back home, I often visited his Instagram
( anicet_philip_safaris) to remind my good memories.
I definitely recommend Singita FaruFaru and Anicet Philip, and I wish I visit there in the near future.

We are so happy to hear that your couple loved our food and amenities (and all the wildlife) and that we could be part of this special time in their lives. We stayed at the 2 bedroom villa after staying at saskawa this hotel needs to work on their food and service. We stayed for 2 nights, on our first night there was no turn down service and we had to close the curtains and on our second night we requested that and they didn't do anything. Their food isn't consistent and it feels like junk food compared to saskawa. The room has a pool that isn't heated. The rooms don't come with bluetooth speakers.
We ordered appetisers on our first day and they gave us our mains only and then had to inform them.
I think the hotel has to work on their management it didn't feel like a luxury hotel with this service.

We liked the all glass rooms with the view of the grumeti and the rooms interior. I would recommend their sister hotel saskawa.

Responded 1 June 2022
Good Afternoon Thank you for taking the time to write a review on your stay at Singita Faru Faru Lodge. We are saddened to hear that we did not meet your expectations during your stay with us. We have found that having Bluetooth speakers in rooms at Faru Faru disturb other guests due to the canvas structure and proximity of rooms to each other. We do however offer speakers in the main lounge where guests are able to enjoy music With regard to the evening turndown service, we acknowledge that one of the rooms didn’t receive the turndown service on the first night. The majority of our guests prefer for us to not pull the blinds down as they enjoy waking up and seeing the sunrise. We should have communicated with you in this regard. On your second night,we opted to skip the turn down in one of the rooms as there was a guest who stayed in and didnt come for dinner. We didnt want to knock on her door and disturb her. The Faru Faru food offering is a mix of organic contemporary style which is further enhanced with the addition of a deli bar encouraging guests to enjoy drinks together and share a snack. We are thrilled that you gave us feedback while in house on how much you enjoyed the snacks sent to your rooms as well as the family style dinner( particularly the beef) that you enjoyed. We do sincerely apologize that you felt that the culinary experience was not up to standard and we will share your comments with our chefs. It would be a wonderful opportunity to have you stay with us in future and we hope to welcome you back to Singita Serengeti Best Wishes Joyce and the Faru Faru Team

Faru Faru was our second camp on our trip and it did not disappoint. After landing at the airstrip our guide for the next two days was Benny and he was outstanding. He was very knowledgable of the animals and the region and it was a true joy to get to spend time with him for two days. he was able to show us the big five . We had missed the black rhino at our first camp we visited in the Masai Mara region and he was able to let us experience the black rhino the very first thing. The sundowner on the hill where the staff had set up food and drinks to just experience the sunset was above and beyond what we expected. The night safari was an experience I have never experienced in any other safari camp I have visited. The accommodations at the lodge are luxurious but allow you to truly experience being out in the bush. Having giraffes walk by as you are taking your outdoor shower early in the morning was special. We were able to have a great massage at the spa after a morning safari . The food was outstanding and Stella, our server, was great and quickly learned our preferences and provided a truly entertaining meal experience. We were able to enjoy breakfast our last morning and we watched as a male lion was drinking from the water just down from the main lodge. This truly is a must place to enjoy all the region has to offer in terms of the safari experience with a great staff food and accommodations.

Another marvelous Singita property.
This was our second visit to Faru Faru
and it was even better than our last
stay. The main lodge area was
renovated and is now more open and
welcoming. The individual lodges were
perfect and didn't require any changes.
Our guide, Japhet, knew where to find
cats which was our priority. So, despite
the high grass, we managed to see
several lions and leopards plus a cheetah
or two. Lost some of my notes so unable
to compliment by name the many friendly
and professional staff members who
ensured we had a great stay. Our apologies
as they were terrific. Do recall a wonderful
wine pairing dinner with Dean...a real treat.
And our dinner table was always well spaced
so we had the impression that we were
dining alone in this outstanding lodge.
Hopefully, visit #3 is in our future. Very
highly recommended.

This place is truly a once in a lifetime experience. We landed at the private airport and saw cheetah and leopards on the way to the hotel. From there it was non stop big cat sightings, Michelin quality food and elephant watching from the beautiful hotel room. Our guide Mehdad (apologize for butchering the spelling couldn’t be stumped. Paul who was our waiter just for us for the whole trip and was absolutely incredible and the room attendant/golf cart driver was really sweet attentive to detail.

Singita Faru Faru Lodge in Grumeti Reserve made the Serengeti come alive for us.
Guide Jimmy introduced us to fabulous animal sightings and Singita made every day a new and wonderful experience. After loving our trip to Botswana and Zimbabwe a few years ago we had no idea how Tanzania would compare.
Though we enjoyed Ngorongoro Crater/ Neptune Lodge and Tarangire Treetops Loge in Tarangire, neither hit the level of friendliness , concern and care for us that Singita Faru Faru did.
Grumeti Reserve and Singita made this whole experience fabulous, but the people we met made it unforgettable! We will return!

The height of luxury and comfort in a safari reserve. The staff was superb and the service flawless. Game drivers were dedicated to providing the best possible experience. If the migration has not reached the area you will see very little game. As about a trip into the adjacent National Park of the sightings are better there. Well worth the extra fee for admission to the park.

Staying at Faru Faru now for 3 nights. We’ve stayed at several high-end lodges in Africa (including other Singita properties) but this one is top in terms of service, facilities and game viewing. The staff is attentive and thoughtful, the best service we’ve had anywhere in the world. Game viewing is breathtaking. Saw 4 of the Big 5 the first day. There are two large lion prides. Counted 20 lions at one sighting. Highly recommend staying at Faru Faru.

Even though your trip was 2 years ago, I can still answer for future travelers. I grew up in the Mara area many decades before it became a park. A puffy jacket is too much as you're not in high altitudes. For a hike up Mt. Kilimanjaro, it would be perfect. However, for the Serengeti plains, it gets cold at night. A light jacket and layering is preferable.
